I found out about this place while eating at the A.R. French's Pizza spot next door. I have been looking for good Cubans since relocating to Florida from Colorado, and it appears I've found it! There aren't a lot of employees working there, so please use patience after ordering food; it's worth it. Ordered the Tampa Cuban sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. My fiancé ordered the Plantains and Black Beans; again, delicious! Love the music choice here, too: merengue, bachata, and salsa. Check this place out when you can!! read more

Like anything socialist: starts with good intentions by promising a good menu for all. Then starts rationing resources by "forgetting" some ingredients in your breakfast sandwich without telling you about it. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after church because we were in the area. We didn't know what to expect, but was very happily surprised. The interior is not large, but it is very comfortable. The counter and white staff were helpful. But, the main thing is how incredible the food was! We had the Miami, Cuban, café, con, Leche, Cuban toes, and beef empanada. All were terrific! You definitely need to get the Cuban sandwich. The pork was outstanding. read more

This is a great, friendly local cafe that has rich, amazing coffee. I did not get photos of the coffees we got today, but be rest assured that it is some of the best quality I've ever had (and I'm considered a "coffee snob"). I came here looking for real Cuban breakfast. Being from Miami I know exactly what I'm looking for. The place is lovely. The girl upfront is better nice and knowledgeable. I got a breakfast sandwich in Cuban bread. That was good. However I order a typical Colada and got another disappointment. They have the right machine but the WRONG coffee. It taste like a regular espresso from any other coffee house. I asked what coffee they use and she said "Joffrey". Really? What is that? I got the "supposed" colada served in a regular coffee cup like a reg coffee. Not the little cup. I think they need a real Spanish Coffee. Like Pilón, La llave, etc. Not some American fake Latino coffee. I'll know where to get a Cuban breakfast sandwich but still haven't found a Cuban coffee. Will continue searching. read more

Been going here for a couple years. Service is great and staff friendly. Local spot to enjoy the food. I recommend the empanadas however recently that item has changed and now they taste like store bought frozen empanadas. I no longer recommend the empanadas. I have lived in the Saint Pete/New Port Richey area of Florida for 23 years and in that time I have eaten a lot of Cuban sandwiches from many different establishments. Today I went to Havana Dreamers Cafe and ordered a Tampa Cuban to go. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and service is fast and efficient. The sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. The bread was nice and crispy and gave you a good bite through. All of the ingredients in the sandwich worked in harmony to make a delicious taste. The sandwich had the perfect amount of moisture and the bread did not get soggy. I had been driving by this place twice a day, 5 days a week, not realizing what it was. I had thought it was just a coffee shop. Now that I know they make this wonderful Cuban sandwich and they are only 10 minutes away from where I live, I will be going back! Came back in today to pick up another one of the delicious Tampa Cuban sandwiches. I took it home and devoured it and I am happy to say it was just as great as the first one I had tried. The woman at the counter told me that next time I should try a sandwich they make called the Sloppy Cuban. It's a pressed sandwich that has spiced ground beef that has been simmered in tomato sauce and smothered with Swiss cheese. Definitely going to get that one on my next visit! read more

What a hidden gem! They have some of the best Cuban coffee I've ever had outside of Miami. Their ham croquettes were delicious and their Cuban toast was on point. The black beans and rice were good, however, it's very heavy on the garlic. If you don't like garlic, I'd skip this item. I also ordered the beef empanada. It was good, but I'd probably order a second order of croquettes instead. I'd highly recommend coming here... especially for the Cuban toast and coffee! Havana dreamers is a great spot to sit and enjoy a drink and hot sandwich after a bike ride. Karen and the staff are always there with a smile and great service. The only negative is that the building owner has forced Dreamers to remove some of the much needed outdoor seating which will force people to look elsewhere to sit outdoors after bike riding. At only $5 each, they are cheaper than a place like Wawa, and taste about 10 times better because they are made fresh. The Cubans are good too, although I've had better. First time here. Cute little Cafe in Trinity. My buddy was visiting from out of town, and we were playing golf nearby and he wanted to try a Cuban sandwich. Based on the good reviews we tried this place. Easy free parking. One of the best Cuban sandwiches I have had in FL! I had the traditional Miami Cuban sandwich. It had lots of meat, large, tasted good and for a great price. He also agreed and enjoyed his Tampa Cuban sandwich. The staff was very friendly and actually remembered both of our names and checked on us. I took off points because the guava and cheese pastry was about 95% pastry, 5% filling (wasn't bad I just had better). Also their fountain drink coke machine tasted funny and I tried different drinks, all tasted not good (either flat tasting or carbonation was off). You could sit outside or inside. We sat inside. I would defiently give it a try again if I am in the area to golf or passing through (I live in Tampa). Give it a try! You won't be disappointed. read more

Help, I'm dying on account of this food baby from their Tampa-style Cuban! No regrets! We don't normally drive through the Longleaf subdivision for lunch, but on this rainy, lazy Sunday, we figured we'd make the short trip and I'm glad we did. This quaint little eatery has plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and a tight menu (I'm a huge fan of small menus because it means that what they DO make is on point.) The Cuban: perfectly crunchy bread, juicy pork, hefty cold cuts, cheesy goodness. What more could you want? Pro tip: in the back they've got self-serve ice water AND this delightful unmarked bottle of hot sauce that was flavorful without being too spicy. We put it on everything to kick things up a notch. My boyfriend was a happy camper, too, with his pork plate including yellow rice and black beans. Is it my favorite Cuban ever? No, that's one million miles away at Bodega in downtown St.Pete, but this is a close second! Service was super friendly and you can tell this is a mom-and-pop place.
