It had lounge lighting and decor, but it looked casual, since you still would place an order and pay at the front counter (still has the deli setup). To tell you how deserted the counter was, a child was sitting on the stool and had to get a staff member from the back in order for her to give me my order. I left wishing it were a little more happening, especially with the setup. But the food? Wonderful. I got to Griot Parmesan, which is griot (fried pork) and pikliz topping parmesan alfredo penne. THIS is ultimate comfort food! The penne had the great rounded flavor of parmesan and garlic without being overly creamy or heavy, the griot was so tender and evaporated that the fat on it was melty, and the pikliz was a tremendous accent to the dish with its spicy vinegar flavor. I can't remember the last time I liked alfredo pasta so much. It looks to me like Bella's is churning out some lovely Caribbean food.
