First time I decided to visit the bakery I was mainly looking for a bottle of water. Sadly I didn't have the chance to buy that or anything else since even when it was 6.55pm ( they close at 7pm) they had already done the credit card's report so I needed to pay in cash. I went to my car that was parked right in front of the business, to check if I had some cash since my daughter was really thirsty it took me 2 minutes, 6.57pm they didn't even open the door. This place is about the only thing going on Chokoloskee Island, but it's legit. We had a great Cuban style breakfast - Rena and Havana Omelet. The outdoor seating area has a heater (which was needed) and lush foliage all around. The wait staff are authentic, no pretending anything. Visiting the Homestead area and popped into this cute bakery. The customer service was really great! I'm not familiar with Cuban pastries so the staff was really helpful. I had a Cubano sandwich that I'm glad I shared with my friend because it's a pretty decent sized sandwich. I had a Cuban coffee which I believe was a cafe con leche. It was DELISH!!! It has to be the cream they used that just made it the yummiest coffee! It can get a little busy but worth the wait. It seems like a family owned business and one popular with the community. what a piece of crap this place is!! I called to place an order, well in advance, a simple bday cake. I told them i had my own decorations and just wanted the cake frosting with certain colors. The place is a whole in the wall, no "ventanita" as you might expect in a bakery of this style, and it's often packed - so it takes a bit of time to get your food. However, the food I have tried there has been really great. Specifically, I have purchased three Tres Leches to take to the three different dinner events during the holiday season 2017. I'm not a big Tres Leches fan however theirs is delicious. I can honestly say it is the best Tres Leches I have ever had. The rest of the food I have tried there is very good also. read more

We stopped in at 8:30am on our drive to Key West. Customers were streaming in and out. The ladies behind the counter served each guest efficiently and personally. I had eggs and veggies for $4 and my husband had steak and eggs for $6, which she gladly added veggies to for $0.50. We had to try one of their beautiful pastries. Guava and cheese, amazingly flaky. The cortadita had a great flavor, I would ask for less sugar next time. One thing to note, No Public Restroom. We had to go to McDonalds and come back. Also very limited seating. Only one young lady spoke English. She was extremely helpful and kind and patient. Wish I'd asked her name. Definitely worth the off the path stop for the food and experience. read more

This is a great little mom and pop place that specializes in homemade breakfasts, sandwiches, and desserts. Don't let the exterior fool you, this place is excellent. We found this local spot by chance on our way down to the Homestead Speedway. The cafe con leche was just like how my Abuela used to make it and the scrambled eggs with ham was delicious. My brother ordered the omelette which was huge and was serve with french fries. The ham croquetas were very yummy!! We will definitely go back if we are in the area. read more

This place is super cheap with out of this world quality. I speak limited Spanish and they don't make me feel like an idiot for it. Their customer service is quick, friendly, and almost familial. They recognize you after awhile and remember your order. It's not really a place to sit down and talk for hours, but a quick bite standing up is cool. This place is a must if you're ever in Homestead! I don't speak Spanish, I can just pick up a word here and there, and the ladies behind the counter were very patient with my husband and me. He did use his language skills when possible. Customer service here is great for starters. I think it's actually good we aren't familiar with the food here. We did see empanadas so we had to grab 1 of each (ham and cheese, ham and chorizo, chicken, carnitas). Every single bite delicious. I'm not a chorizo fan so if it wasn't for my husband I would not have even tried it. You cannot go wrong with any of the empanadas. Actually, you can't go wrong with anything in the store. Upon walking in I saw the huge croissant sandwiches. I also ended up getting turnovers filled with guava and some type of unique cheese/cream cheese filling although it's not fair to classify it as one or the other because it's just so unique. Again, I think me being unfamiliar with the items added to the experience. The turnovers were amazing. It was such a tasty experience. Make sure to get one of their juices (they have guava, pineapple, mango and passion fruit). You can't go wrong with that or any of their coffee (great prices too). I went for a Cubano coffee. I had never had one but it's essentially a very very sweet espresso shot. Come here hungry and leave happy. Oh, they also take credit cards which is an added bonus. Stopped by here on our way to Little Havana. We ordered an empanada with beef and another with chicken. Both were very good. We had a steak sandwich that was a big size but we split it in two and it was good for the both of us. Lastly, we had the iced coffee that was very delicious!!
