I had the shrimp platter (30.00) which they definitely give you your moneys worth of shrimp. There were probably 20 -30 on the plate. They were not de veined which may not bother some people. We also had the crab dip (16.00) as an appetizer which was good and not small portioned. Havana's has some of the best food on-island! The drinks were tasty and original, the seafood fresh and delicious, and the single slice of chocolate cake big and rich enough that 3 of us shared it, and we brought some home. Service was friendly, informed, entertaining, and attentive. The restaurant has a variety of inviting areas inside and outside. In the summer it can be extremely busy, but our 1st available request was met in under 10 minutes, and we had an outdoor high top with a view on a pleasant warm evening. Horrible establishment with snooty staff. Slow night. Off season. Decided to pick up CARRY OUT. Had my 2 sweet little dogs with me, both under 25lbs. It was our first time here and we got there a little after 4pm on a Sunday! It was still pretty warm out and the sun was beaming! On Wednesdays and Sundays they play music after 5! We started with a pineapple mojito it was ok! ( I will disclose I am very particular about my drinks) we had the calamari and the Buffalo cauliflower! Those were a hit with the family. For entrees we had a Caesar Salad, the 8 Oz sirloin with green beans and mashed potatoes, the bison burger with fries and the seafood platter. The bison burger was delicious, the salad was good, the meat could have had a little bit more flavor and the seafood platter was good too! All the sides were great! Ordered the Jalapeño Margarita and that was good! We ended the night with the key lime pie! Overall it was great food! We sat outside and like I mentioned it was hot! They have a different sections where you can sit outside and you are away from the sun. The outside area is very welcoming and like I mentioned they play music on Sundays. The service was great, our waiter checked on us often I believe his name was Luke and the manager also checked on the tables to see if everyone was doing ok. It's a great spot with indoor and outdoor seating. It is in easy walking distance from the boardwalk. The food and drinks are high quality. The bloody Mary's and other cocktails are very good. Havana's does come with a higher price tag. My bill for lunch (two people) was $86, before tip. Now we did get a couple of cocktails each which probably accounted for half the bill. So if you are cheap then you need to go to the pancake joint a block down versus here, or better yet McDonalds. If you appreciate the quality then Havana's is a good choice. We dined here in August during our family beach trip. There were 11 of us and we made a reservation a day prior but were able to get one at 5pm and were happy we did! I spoke to Michelle to make this reservation, assuming a manager and she was so incredibly accommodating and friendly! The atmosphere was casual but nice - relaxing! Our waitress was great! Incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. We were seated right away and she brought over waters and fresh bread right away. They have a pretty great wine and drink list, and we opted for a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, or two. We ordered a few appetizers and they were delicious! We started with the Jamaican Chicken Skewers, Cajun Shrimp, Shrimp Cocktail, and the Buffalo Cauliflower. All of these dishes were so good! I do highly recommend the Chicken Skewers and Cajun Shrimp - I would say they were the best! We ordered quite a few entrees too. Here in April before MDW means we didn't wait for service. Had a 5pm reservation. The oysters Rockefeller were okay, not great and oddly not piping hot, especially from a dish that is coming out of the broiler. My horseradish tuna was cooked perfectly rare & had great flavor, but again, it was not piping hot. My wife's fresh catch was Mahi Mahi - huge & flavorful! Piping hot - finally! Stopped here for a late lunch while visiting this beach for the first time. What a great spot! Everyone is so nice that works here. Every dish is a unique, carefully crafted recipe, even the homemade dog biscuits which my beagle friend absolutely LOVED. Food poisoning from Tuna Hawaii!!!! Beware!!! I ordered the Tuna Hawaii as an app and Maui Tacos for my entree. The app was the only thing different from the rest of the party's meals. Prior to leaving the restaurant I could tell I had a war going on in my belly. We were going to walk around to check out the other shops since we had paid for 2 hr parking; however, my window to reach the porcelain was slipping. Luckily we made it back to the room where I was in the fetal position for several hours and back and forth to the bathroom. Two days later I'm still feeling the effects with a cramped stomach. Pretty pricey menu but staff was nice. Our waiter Frank seated us and was kind refilling our bread and waters as well as helping us decide what to order. Portions weren't that big and we didn't take any food home. We were sharing two to a meal because each entree was $24-29 except my cousin who got the cha cha salmon. I ordered their chowder in a cup for $5 and it was nice with some small bits of potatoes and celery. The super seafood thing was $29 and all fried foods. I'd recommend sharing this because there is a lot and I'd get tired of so much fried food very fast. The cha cha salmon was average and the asparagus comes out crispy so if you like it more chewy like I do I'd tell the waiter. The shrimp and grits were good and interesting with the grits being sorta fried in a cake form underneath the sauce. Never have eaten like that but it was good but I don't know if it was $24 good. Nice atmosphere inside with people talking at the bar and lots of tvs showing basketball and such.
