Super disappointed in this place. Walked blocks here only for the manager to tell our son (2) he couldn't have his sippy cup inside. Said it was law. The server even said he'd never heard of that and had seen kids in there with no issue. We've had no issue at any other spot here. She offered no resolution on our way out. Didn't care. Havana's was recommended as a must visit and it sure is! I'm surprised this gem has only 3.5 stars. The atmosphere is welcoming and open, with the outside dining tying into the boardwalk area. The service was excellent, prompt, and professional. As for the food ... the calamari was a big hit and was gone before I could get a photo! We had a good dinner. My husband was super pleased with his fried oysters. My Caesar salad was not good. The romaine lettuce was limp & wilted. The salmon was undercooked. Honestly would have given 0 stars because for what we got & what we paid, extremely disappointing. Started when we got there, asked for Tito's & seltzer and were told they didn't have seltzer! Calamari appetizer came out cold, nachos...cheese was barely melted. Signature salmon dish was again Luke warm with no flavor and basically chopped tomatoes on top. Horseradish tuna pretty much tasted the same & had no spice or flavor. We went to Havana's for Sunday Brunch last weekend. And we were not impressed. I ordered the scrambled frenzy, which despite the description, was scrambled eggs with 2 pieces of bacon and 2 sausage links. Not exactly deserving of the $9 - $10 price tag. The meal is also comes with some apple coffee cake thing, that did not sound good to me. I wanted a biscuit instead, which I got, but they charged me a $1.25 for it. And I didn't get the cake. I'm not sure why that couldn't have been a substitute? The wife got a quiche, which was also just ok. Lastly, they ran out of coffee creamer. No coffee creamer for Sunday brunch. Two meals, two black coffees, a $1.25 biscuit - grand total of $26 for a meal I think I could have made at home for $10 and been happier. Havana's should be glad I don't like giving less than 3 stars on my reviews. read more

This was our first time at Havana's, it will definitely not be our last. 45 minute wait to get in, no problem, we took a stroll to the beach. Once we got in we were greeted by our extremely polite and master of customer service server. He provided good recommendations, but we already knew what we wanted. He kept our drinks full, and brought us some hot fresh rolls while waiting on our food. The food was fantastic, my wife's NY strip was cooked perfectly, and my grilled chicken salad was great with fresh crisp greens and delicious strawberries and orange slices. Our server checked on us repeatedly and the manager even stopped by to make sure we had what we wanted. They should actually teach other restaurants how to do customer service because they have it perfected. along with a tip, I even wrote "great service" on my receipt. If you haven't tried this place yet, don't wait, you will love it!!!! I can't sing their praises enough. The buffet experience was excellent! The quality of the food was outstanding. Each recipe was well prepared and the variety of the food was enough to please anyone's taste requirements. The flow of the buffet was very well designed; customers were able to make their selections and the line flowed smoothly. The servers at each station were cordial and very mannered. Their serving skills were professional and polite. It was clear the management team did a great job with their training program. I came to Havana's hungry and left satisfied and ready for a nap! I have visited Havana's many times and never been disappointed. Their track record is still perfect with me. I recommend you visit Havana's soon and often. Um. No. First of all. The bartenders were amazing!!! Then when the food came out I was so sad. My husbands risotto was mushy and bland - not how risotto is supposed to be. And my shrimp and grit cakes - spin on shrimp and grits - was really a soup. Not really shrimp and grits. The person bringing out the food said "if you let it sit for a while - you won't need a spoon" when I asked for a spoon to eat my soup with. Shannon was an amazing server! She was so sweet and accomodating. All of the staff was amazing. We didn't have any drinks, so I can't say about that. Mom's soup was lukewarm, and we asked to warm it up. Dad's salmon sandwich's bun was rock solid in the middle, but the fish was cooked well. The volcano shrimp was great! I do wish it came with a dipping sauce though. My salad was good. The tuna had so much potential but was cold and raw and had a lot of dry pepper on the outside; wouldn't recommend. Very nice atmosphere!!! My husband and I along with our 7 month old daughter went here for dinner! We went around 4pm because of her schedule so it was not crowded at all! We sat outside facing the Main Street, so it was entertaining for all of us! Lol! We had two apps, the volcano shrimp and the crab dip! Both were great! Main entrees were shrimp and grits and the fresh catch of the day which was mahi mahi with sweet pea risotto and broccoli! My husband and I were both pleased with our meals! Restaurant in a typical cute Carolina beach house. Beautiful flower garden in front with an area to hang out in while waiting for a table. They have corn hole set up in front to keep young and old entertained. The food was good, the service was good.
