HavAnnA Cafe was one of the few and it was well-rated on Yelp and so we took the short ride even further down the remote path to Chokoloskee, a small island town that juts out into the bay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]HavAnnA Cafe is colorfully lit and was pleasant enough.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our food was fair at best. We tried the chicken and the mahi mahi. They both had the same salsa-like topping. The plantains weren't very good, they had a weird texture, and the black beans were pretty terrible. The white rice was the best thing on the plate. The fish was way over cooked and very thin. I would have thought that there'd be fresh fish options on the menu, I mean it is the Everglades and fisherman are everywhere and fish are in abundance, you know, Nature's bounty, but no. Food - 5 stars (Cuban sandwiches are the best!) Entertainment - 5 stars Service - 1 to 2 stars. We stood and waited for a table. No acknowledgement that we were even in the right place for a table for quite some time. I was unsure if we should have checked in inside the store area. We got our table and gave our drink order. No drinks came. Girl came and took our order drink order again along with food, and we finally got drinks. There were 4 of us. Another waitress served us 2 out of 4 sandwiches and said she'd check on the other 2. Then she came back and said the tickets must not have gone in together. Original waitress stopped by and apologized and said she didn't put them in together. So we waited and waited. Waitress #2 stopped by and said she thought the cook may have deleted our second order (we were 2 couples). Then waitress #1 stopped and said that might be what happened. We then asked if we could just settle our bill and go. She said yes. Then went to get our bill and the last 2 sandwiches came. She said we could take them to go.
