    Tandoori Chicken Legs (2)
    Haris K.

I was in the neighborhood and wanted to get some tandoori chicken legs and naan. I ordered for pickup and my order costed around $17. The pickup process was quick and easy. The food was ready on time and all I had to do was pay and leave. Once I got home and opened up my food I saw the two most depressing tandoori chicken legs I've ever seen. They were so tiny and were not filling at all. This was extremely disappointing. The chicken had some flavor but lacked that char you look for when getting anything cooked in a tandoori oven. This can also be said about the naan which lacked flavor. The place was empty when I got there and I should taken that as a sign. Overall, I wouldn't go back and didn't have the greatest experience. Score: 6.5/10

My go-to spot in sac. Amazing desi food, generous portions. The meat in the briyani is so tender and flavorful. We also got samosas. Their samosas are amaaaazing. Previously I've also tried the goat karahi. Loved it! Everything I've tried from here has always been great.

This is probably one of the only decent locations nearby, as in the Sac area, that serves Halwa Puri. Visited Haveli on a random Sunday back in Feb to try their buffet. You won't be disappointed by their buffet options but their Al carte is way better! They serve Halwa puri on Sundays only during a short 3-4 hour timeframe during lunch. Come quick, hungry, but not hangry like me, and enjoy a fresh puri with Halwa. You can request fresh puri to be brought to your table, as well.

    garden cucumber salad

After a long day of driving I was looking for a close restaurant to my hotel and this was within walking distance. So after looking at the menu I decided to give it a try. The hostess greeted me walking in it was not busy, and I was promptly seated. Within a few minutes she returned to take my order. So after looking over the menu I opted for the house cucumber salad and some very nice curried chicken. It literally took about 15 minutes tops from the time I placed my order to the time my server returned with my salad and then another minute or two total until my Chicken Korma appeared at my table. The cucumber salad is a large plate of fresh garden greens with chunky style tomatoes and cucumbers, on a bed of ice berg and topped with red onions with lemon wedges on the side. Italian dressing also on the side. The salad was freshly made and large enough to share. Fresh greens, crunchy veggies and chunks of tomato it hit the spot, nothing fancy but very good. The Chicken Korma which is a savory and spicy Curried Chicken chunks in a spicy red curry that has some zip to it though not overpowering. A nice sized portion and with the Tandoori Naan it was a very good meal. The Tandoori Buttered Naan, was absolutely baked prefection, a nice sized bread sliced in two halves. This was so good it totally could be a meal on its own and at $1.50 cheap! A Hot Green Tea to finish my meal and I was good to go for my evening ahead. A nice meal and a very inexpensive by comparison. Dinner with a 20% tip was $25 bucks, thats hard to beat. 3.5 Stars - rounded up for the delicious Naan, its nothing fancy with pretty good curry and food. 00677

Amazing food, always same quality and made fresh. Goat doesn't even taste like goat because they season it so well it has this rich delicious taste to it. If you never tried goat you should here because you won't even know you're eating goat. Naan is perfect. Rice is great as well. Chicken is a bit dry for my liking however the flavor makes up for it. Mango lassi is perfection. This is the kind of smoothie I can drink every day, super smooth and flavorful. Service is great to, they are attentive and if you need anything they are ready to help. Restaurant itself does not have the best interior, or welcoming look to it but the big windows lots of natural lights and amazing food that they serve makes up for it. Definitely one of my favorite Indian/ Pakistani places to eat at.

My craving for kabobs and naan were satisfied here along with some vegetarian sides. Quirky but friendly service. Expect to wait if dining in but worth it. Ideal for take out. Plenty of parking in the back.

i tried food today in this restaurant love the food. I don't eat much so I ordered only chicken and bread. but it was a big pot and I was not hungry until the next day. people are nice and service is good. Thank you. Oh and tea. My favorite

Great service. Amazing outdoor seating with 6ft distancing, and above all Phenomenal food! I have visited both Pakistan and India - having tried the best of the best, and this restaurant has the best food hands down on par with the quality you get in the countries the cuisine originated in. They are super clean, it's a family owned business, and the owner takes great pride in his food. I love the outdoor seating especially in times of COVID. Highly recommend this place!! Great for families

We drove from Stockton here as a friend recommended it and we were up for a date night and drive to get out of the house. There is only outdoor seating due to the State pandemic restrictions but that didn't matter, it was lovely. They did their best to turn the patio into something inviting and comfortable. We were greeted and seated right away. They had music playing and asked if was too loud for us, it wasn't, we enjoyed it. They brought us bottled waters right away and food came out very timely. We ordered several dishes: Everything was delicious! Butter naan 5/5 Samosa 5/5 Samosa cholay chaat 5/5 (spicy) Karahi Gosht (goat) 4/5 (many bones) Chicken tikka masala 3.5/5 (sauce was amazing but chicken kabob was used and it was very dry) Chicken Biryani 4/5 We ordered so much that we forgot to order their specialty but saw it come out several times, the Mixed Grill. It comes out sizzling and looks amazing, we will be back!!

I decided to stay and just order off the menu. They have a very decent lunch menu. I decided to go with a combination lamb curry, and chicken, curry, it was a very decent portion, it came with tender basmati rice, which has a good flavor, , a small salad, and naan bread To drink, I had the mango lassi, which is a yogurt drink, that I liked. The salad was good. Just your average salad. The naan bread was tender and delicious I had asked if the curry was spicy, and the lady said "medium". I have to remember that when I am in a South Asian restaurant, the term "medium" is relative. The lamb curry was very good. The curry sauce had a lot of flavor, and the lamb was very tender. This was medium spicy. It was well within what I like for spice. The chicken curry, to my opinion, was not as successful. This one was pretty darn spicy. It had a good flavor, but the spice level was very at the top end of what I like for in spicy. The Lassi helped cool the spice The chicken was flavorful, but in my opinion, it was not as tender as the lamb. It was a bit chewy. Also, the chicken curry was a bit oily. Overall, the lunch was good, and I had enough for another meal. The price was on the higher end, but reasonable for the quantity and quality of food. I will come back for that buffet on the weekend. Thank you.

However, the restaurant is being renovated and they were not yet serving Fatburgers and so I left - disappointed and hungry. As I was about to get in my car, I spied this restaurant next door. I had long seen it but never stopped. It beckoned me and I went in. The space was dived into a rather large dining room and a to go ordering space. There was one other patron in the restaurant and I learned it was his first time too. His food smelled so good as it was brought to him sizzling on a platter. I ordered the Chicken Saag and added Thali style, which added bread, salad, and soup to the entree. Good is prepared to order which was lovely. My waiter was attentive and offered water multiple times before I got my meal. He did not speak much English as I learned as I tried to get more ice in my water. He persevered and figured it out! My food arrived smelling and looking good. I love spinach and enjoy it cooked this way. There was a generous amount of very tender chicken pieces mixed in with the spinach. The seasoning was mildly seasoned which allowed my palate to enjoy each distinctive flavor. The vegetable curry was also tasty - cauliflower, carrots, green beans and a variety of mild herbs and seasonings. I also enjoyed the dal - again no bold flavors - but tasty and satisfying. The rice was fluffy and plentiful - more than enough fur the accompanying components of the meal. The highlight of the Thali was the most delicious Naan I've had in a long time. There were two perfect slices with ghee spread on top. I made an Indian "taco" with one of the slices and the chicken saag and a bit of the coconut rice pudding dessert. Most enjoyable bite! As usual, I was unable to eat it all and boxed the remains for dinner later. All the while, there were Asian-influenced music videos playing expressing a meditative theme. I sincerely recommend this restaurant - nice atmosphere, good food, wonderful service. I continue my quest to support local businesses whenever possible and encourage you all to do the same.

I decided to order the lunch special with Chef's special chicken curry . he asked what my spice level, and I said not too much. Medium to mild. Well obviously, there was a loss in translation somewhere, because the curry was pretty spicy. Right up to the very edge of what I can handle for spicy. There was a salad that was basically onions and tomatoes, the tomatoes helped cut down the spice a little bit. It tasted OK, it was just way too hot. It came with two sides, which were good, as well as naan, and basmati rice, which I love. The price was reasonable. I will come back again, just the next time I will be absolutely sure to ask for the mild. Thank you.

I come from a family of good cooks. I don't always have time to cook what I want to eat. Kabob & Chutney Grill is my go-to now for those busy weeks. I order the family tray for 8-10ppl and some extras. My brother turned me onto them and he does the same. Much thanks to the chefs at Kabob & Chutney for keeping it traditional for us spoiled and picky Desis! P.S. I'm sharing a photo for this review. It includes Chapli Kabobs, chicken kabobs, chicken tikka and pakora. Beneath the meat is a nice salad with cucumber, onion, chili, etc., and rice. I have to use both forearms to carry the tray. Edit: After reading some reviews of ambiance and service, I feel the need to pipe up. I go to restaurants for the food. Although the ambiance isn't what you'd normally expect, I felt a bit of extra joy in it like I was a part of a small happy celebration. It's unique and I'm down with it. As far as service is concerned, I mindlessly left half of my takeout order there. Once i realized it, I called the restaurant and asked if I could pick it up the next day on my way home from work. I told them to just throw it in the fridge bc that's what I was going to do with it anyway. They insisted that I call when I'm 20min out and they'd make it fresh even though it was my fault (I work close but live far away). As far as freshness is concerned, I walked in and ordered a massive quantity of food (saved me food prep for a week -that's how much). I waited 1hr and it was piping hot when I got it. You don't wait 1hr for old and recycled food. Obviously everyone's mileage varies and I'm not here to invalidate other customer experiences. I'm just sharing my own. If you made it this far, thank you for reading.
