Tikka, palace paneer, samosa, and rice
Dan W.

Some inconsistencies, but for the most part, a solid 3. I LOOOVED the ambiance. Not so much the restaurant decorations one would expect in an Indian restaurant (they had that), but the artwork on the walls were amazing. I kept looking at them throughout my meal, as opposed to my phone. The sole gentleman seemingly running everything by himself was very nice, and water and Naan were always on the table. Now then...the food. Typical Indian buffet standards. I had chicken Tikka masala, goat curry, samosa, palak paneer, and tandoori chicken. The flavors were amazing. The goat was a little chewy, but still good Why only a 3 stars? Well....ALL of the food was....warm? There was little steam coming from the buffet table, and everything was room temperature. This restaurant definitely has potential for a higher rating, but.... I like my food hot. Would recommend based on flavor, but work on temperature control

Perfect rainy day for another AMAZING visit to the best buffet in town!!! Everything was so fresh and delicious. I am always so satisfied after eating here. I only wish I could eat more lol. Delicious Indian food always hits!!! Thanks again guys!

Chicken saag. I know, mostly eaten, I couldn't stop. Not sorry AT ALL. It's that good.

You ever been so wrong that you're actually glad you were wrong? Yeah. That was me tonight with India Village (aka the former India Palace). I was driving home, craving Indian food, fully prepared to go to my old standby for chicken saag. On a whim, I took a risk - and let me tell you... we are BACK, baby. Back in business. The food tasted exactly how I remembered it - rich, comforting, and honestly even better than before. I'm so glad they changed hands and came back as India Village because you know what, the village people (aka me), missed you! And somehow the service managed to outshine the food (which says a lot). The front of house lady who took my order over the phone was incredibly kind, but she was somehow even more pleasant in person. Didn't think that was possible, yet here we are. They've also clearly put love into the space. The aesthetic upgrades are noticeable and thoughtful - inside looks refreshed, the outside is well lit, the lot is cleaned up, and those overgrown plants are finally under control. It feels like a glow-up done the right way. I'm already planning a daytime visit this weekend because... yeah, I'm hooked again. Bonus surprise: menu updates! Entrees like the chicken saag now come with rice AND naan - which was absolutely not a thing before. A very welcome change. And I cannot leave without mentioning the lamb samosas. The crunch. The savory goodness. Truly unbelievable. Honestly, thank goodness they only come two to an order, because if they didn't, I'd be ordering a dozen and calling it dinner. I'd be a full HOUSE. India Village - thank you for coming back to your customers in such an intentional and magnificent way. I'll be back, and I'll be bringing my people. See you soon.

I kept seeing so many great reviews and finally had to try India Village--and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent, and every dish was packed with incredible flavor. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, palak paneer, and garlic naan, and everything was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the freshness and spices in each bite. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try the lunch buffet. Highly recommend if you're craving flavorful Indian food!

My husband and I went for the lunch buffet and everything was delicious!!I'll include a couple of pics so you can see the variety! They also bring fresh naan to your table. The owner said the buffet isn't always the same items (I am confident it is always delicious though)! A fabulous lunch for two for under $40 - yes, please!! The owners were hustling butt the entire time we were there. Everything was hot, fresh, and perfectly spiced for our taste. Please support this place it is owned by a beautiful young couple who really want to make it work!

Sadly our go to spot closed and we forced ourselves to find a replacement go to. We ordered Indian food online and had a great overall experience. They were very attentive to our special dietary requests, which we really appreciated. It's a friendly, family-owned business and you can feel that warmth right away. The portion sizes are generous, and the inside ambience is clean and welcoming. There's also plenty of parking in their private lot, which is always a plus. We upgraded to the thali, which came with the curry of the day, naan, rice, and a samosa with two sauces--great value. My mixed vegetable curry was flavorful and delicious just as it was. His chicken tikka masala was good at first and honestly even better after sitting for a couple of days and letting the flavors stew. We did ask for hot and spicy, but it didn't have much heat at all, which is the only reason this is a four-star instead of five.

The food was very tasty and the service was on point. Staff was very friendly and personable. The place is very casual and clean. Grand opening weekend so we wanted to check it out! We had the buffet and there was a variety of Indian staples such as Butter Chicken, Naan, tiki masala, etc. This replaced the old Lyon's restaurant on Folsom Blvd. Best of luck to this new family owned business! We will be adding this to our dining out rotation!

Super hole in the wall place. This is family owned. I always support local business. I ordered take out today. It took 25mins. It was empty today I was surprised, but inside is every spacious and clean. If you're in the area for some good REAL Indian food then this is your spot. Please come support !! Prices are reasonable and the flavor is spot on. I ordered butter chicken, chicken biryani, veggie pakora, garlic naan. It did not disappoint. Hit the spot. I got medium spice and the spice level was good!! Overall I would come back again, I been here a few times so come by if ur around or wants some good food!!

Muttar Paneer and the side of the daily vegetable
Jessica G.

The restaurant is tucked in behind a business park so I wasn't sure if my navigation was taking me to the correct place at first. I ordered pickup on a weekday after work. The employee who answered the phone was super friendly and happy to answer my questions about their spice level, etc, as it was my first time ordering from here. I ordered the Muttar Paneer with a side of the daily vegetable. Just wish the rice portion was the same size as the paneer to balance out. The food was so delicious! I add spiciness in all my cooking and ordered the medium level and it was perfect. I love Indian food and tried many Indian restaurants. This is my favorite so far in the Sacramento area. I'll definitely be ordering from here and would love to try their lunch buffet.

Such a beautiful plate!

Tried Indian Village for the first time today! They have a lunch buffet and I thought all of the food was fresh and delicious! Really a beautiful array of Indian food :) If you haven't tried Indian food then I recommend going here when they have their buffet special so that you can try a little bit of everything and discover your favorites. Some of my favorites today were the tikki masala, butter chicken, the chicken leg in the photo -- fabulous lime flavor to it -- and the naan bread. I also enjoyed the delightful chai tea that is also part of the buffet special. Great customer service!

However, the restaurant is being renovated and they were not yet serving Fatburgers and so I left - disappointed and hungry. As I was about to get in my car, I spied this restaurant next door. I had long seen it but never stopped. It beckoned me and I went in. The space was dived into a rather large dining room and a to go ordering space. There was one other patron in the restaurant and I learned it was his first time too. His food smelled so good as it was brought to him sizzling on a platter. I ordered the Chicken Saag and added Thali style, which added bread, salad, and soup to the entree. Good is prepared to order which was lovely. My waiter was attentive and offered water multiple times before I got my meal. He did not speak much English as I learned as I tried to get more ice in my water. He persevered and figured it out! My food arrived smelling and looking good. I love spinach and enjoy it cooked this way. There was a generous amount of very tender chicken pieces mixed in with the spinach. The seasoning was mildly seasoned which allowed my palate to enjoy each distinctive flavor. The vegetable curry was also tasty - cauliflower, carrots, green beans and a variety of mild herbs and seasonings. I also enjoyed the dal - again no bold flavors - but tasty and satisfying. The rice was fluffy and plentiful - more than enough fur the accompanying components of the meal. The highlight of the Thali was the most delicious Naan I've had in a long time. There were two perfect slices with ghee spread on top. I made an Indian "taco" with one of the slices and the chicken saag and a bit of the coconut rice pudding dessert. Most enjoyable bite! As usual, I was unable to eat it all and boxed the remains for dinner later. All the while, there were Asian-influenced music videos playing expressing a meditative theme. There was a salad that was basically onions and tomatoes, the tomatoes helped cut down the spice a little bit. It tasted OK, it was just way too hot. Best of all, it wasn't overly salty, which allowed all of the rich flavors to shine through. The rice was equally impressive--perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and delicious enough to enjoy all by itself. In fact, the food was so good that I've already ordered it twice! The salad was good. Just your average salad. The naan bread was tender and delicious I had asked if the curry was spicy, and the lady said "medium". I have to remember that when I am in a South Asian restaurant, the term "medium" is relative. The lamb curry was very good. The curry sauce had a lot of flavor, and the lamb was very tender.
