After moving to Washington, I visited a med spa where I was confidently told that Moxie laser treatments would improve my pigmentation. Unfortunately, after two sessions, the heat from the laser worsened my melasma, leaving my skin darker and more damaged than before. By the time I found Dr. McLain, I had become extremely cautious and fearful about pursuing further treatment. I waited six months for my appointment, and from the very first visit, I knew I was finally in the right hands. Dr. McLain combines exceptional knowledge with genuine compassion. Every appointment has been thoughtful, thorough, and never rushed. Despite his demanding schedule, he always takes the time to explain every detail, answer every question, and make sure I fully understand both the benefits and the risks of treatment options. That level of care is rare. What moved me most was his willingness to prioritize my safety and long-term results over convenience or production. Before considering Fraxel laser treatment, he offered to do a test spot on my skin first -- simply to ensure that my skin tone would respond safely and appropriately. For instance, insomnia, weight gain, irritability, etc., that I have been dealing with for years. I heard about pellet therapy and got an appt. Nancy educated me about it more, and we talked about all the other options and decided on pellet therapy. I am SO GLAD I did it! The procedure was easy, and within a few hours of getting the pellets, I started to feel better. Here is what I have noticed. It was subtle at first and then got better over several days. The night I got the pellets, I noticed a calmness come over me that I had not felt in years. Previously, I lived with near-constant irritation, almost like being in a permanent state of PMS for the last few years. The smallest life disruptions would stress me out very quickly. That irritation feeling fell away within a few hours of getting the pellets. I also slept much better, and that continues. Usually, I would only get about 4 hours of sleep at night and then be wide awake again, often due to back pain. Now I am sleeping about 6 hours instead of 4 and more soundly. My back pain is not waking me up as often, either. I was told that was the testosterone pellet that was helping with pain. It feels like inflammation in my body has gone down. It has only been a week, but I feel better all around. It is incredible the change it has had on my mood. Also, I have had an issue with constipation for a very long time. You cannot tell by the photos on her website, but even Nancy has lost a lot of weight and looks different due to her using these therapies herself. She is very friendly and very down to earth and does not pressure you into anything at all. She only educates and lets you decide. I really like her and this clinic. I wish I had found out about it years ago.
