Wonderful restaurant!! The decor is fresh and interesting to the eye (see pics). We waited at the bar until the rest of our party arrived (12 in total). The drinks were good and we had an appetizer while we waited. We ordered the cheese board and the charcuterie board. They came combined on the same board... Three meats, three cheeses and some side accompaniments! Hard and soft cheeses were delightful ... chef's choice. The sides were grapes, petite pickles, spicy gourmet mustard, Marcona almonds (amazing!), and chestnuts that were preserved! I'd never had preserved chestnuts before... very sweet, but still firm and nutty in flavor! Excellent! As most of our party arrived, we headed to a gorgeous large table (see pics) off to the side of the cheese bar. We ordered a lot of food. Some of the stand outs were actually the appetizers : the wild boar, stuffed red peppers, sausage focaccia and oysters were delicious! The salmon dinner was cooked perfectly! Located right off SoHo, Haven has the greatest bang for your buck for Happy Hour. Wine and cocktails were $5, beer/seltzer $3, bar bites $7. I got the Chardonnay on HH and my boyfriend got Tea Time, both were great. We got the Beef and Broccoli Tartare and Pork Rib bar bites, super creative plating and unbeatable taste. The cheese board was okay, just a cheese board in my opinion. I believe the HH options change frequently, I am super excited to come back and try more! I finally had the joy of experiencing Haven and I can't believe it took me so long! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, very clean and the staff is phenomenal. The best part, though, was by far the food. We dined in for Sunday brunch which is a different menu, but it's good enough to have me coming back to try more. Their unique spin on traditional dishes makes for some of the best food in Tampa. Since the dishes are slightly larger than tapas and a little smaller than a full entree, it's a good idea to share several items between everyone at the table. The fried Brussels were full of color and flavor. The cheddar biscuit was even better than expected, flavorful with a slight kick of spice. My wife and I were in Tampa for a conference and it was our 15th wedding anniversary. We chose Haven based on reviews. The food and wine were great, the steak grilled perfectly. The only downside of the evening was the waiter who kept interrupting us to ask if we wanted anything else. We were prepared to leave a terrible review, but we mentioned what happened to Matt Rich, the manager. He offered to give us a gift certificate but we declined pointing out that we were from out of town and that we found the food and ambiance fine just not the server who was pushy but not awful. Matt said he understood then asked us to wait. He surprised us with a desert and bottle of champagne, neither of which was expected or asked for. He left us feeling not only that it wasn't a bad evening but that they went above and beyond. read more

Someone should really tell the owner that he or she has miss spelled heaven, but my taste buds certainly were not fooled because that is exactly where they were taken during this dining experience. I opted to sit outside next to a very pleasing rolling water fountain, which made the silence of the cool night broken ever so slightly to allow my complete focus to be on the food and drink. One of my favorite foods of all time is probably cheese. There was a point in my life where I went around to different restaurants specifically seeking out various cheese boards. I probably could have saved a lot of travel time if I would have just started at haven as they have an absurd amount of cheese for selection all of which seems to be reasonably priced and as diverse as they are pungent. However on this trip I did not spend as much time on a charcuterie board as I did appreciating their specialty whiskey cocktails and salmon. Flaky, tender, moist, but not fishy. For the record, fishy is not a good descriptive word for seafood. This salmon was delicious though. I especially appreciated the sauce that adorned the sides and top of the sizable hunk of Salmon. Having an aggressive sweet tooth I decided to splurge for dessert as well. The dirt pie caught my eye. Intentional rhyme for a dessert sublime. I'll stop there, but it really was super cool. Not only was there an actual gummy worm (of course liquor infused), but what especially caught me by surprise is the pail that the dessert was served in actually turned out to be an edible chocolate mold. I was shooketh. To be honest, as delicious as the dessert was even if was made of some sort of tin I probably would have still tried to eat it. All in all this is certainly not your casual dining experience, and I would not recommend limiting your menu item selection due to cost alone however they do have something that could fit all budgets and certainly all palates. 5 stars is due to the extraordinary service of Maddie and the amazing food and wines. First impression as we entered and went to the host desk was that the 2 ladies were not friendly or inviting. We saw the chef on tv where he shared that happy hour didn't require a reservation. Long story short the hosts told us if we wanted a table we'd have to finish by 7 because they would be needed for reservations. ALL the tables!!! Utter nonsense. After i expressed my disappointment at the dismissive treatment one of the ladies told us we could sit at one of the high tops near the bar. Even though they all had "reserved" tag. Then the exceptional service started when Maddie greeted us with a wide smile, energetic welcome and immediately uplifted our experience. The rest of the time lived up to our expectations. Haven has come to be the flavors I crave and they do it with consistency each and every time. On this visit we sat at the lounge with large wing back, leather chairs, table lamps and small tables where small plates can be served. This area is great for conversation with your partner or others that can sit in this area. For starters, the drinks were on point. I had a nice smokey whiskey which was great to transition into fall. My husband enjoyed a $5 pour of a whiskey blend I believe that is special to Haven. He loved it so much he got a second. We started with beer cheese pimento cheese dip. Get this! It was sharp and flavor and plentiful with perfectly crisp bread to accompany. The froi grai duck taco was nice. It'll have to be for $10 a piece however it worked for me and I enjoyed it. We also had steamed dumplings which were just okay. I may skip these next time as the filling was not as plentiful as some others I have had. The beef tartare had nice caperberrys. I love caperberrys! Also served with a nice side of bone marrow. Just enough to enjoy I call it meat butter. The tartare itself had what seemed to be a citrus oil on top which could be off-putting to some. all-in-all I enjoyed it. Believe it or not the star for my husband and I was the chicken thigh in a mint yogurt puree. Oh my goodness I'm craving this now. I love Haven. We had an amazing experience here! We went on a Friday night and made our reservation kind of last minute but we were able to get a 5:30pm reservation. It was perfect for us because we wanted to do the happy hour deals. They tell you in advance that you can only stay for 2 hours per reservation but that was no problem because all of the food and drinks came out so quick. We were finished in about an hour and a half and didn't feel rushed at all. We got the $5 wines by the glass and $2 beers from the happy hour menu. And we also got the duck tostada and NOLA mussels for $7 each for happy hour. We also got the chefs board for $18 (rather than the usual $28) and it was amazing! From the regular menu we got the radiatore pasta and the chicken thighs, both very tasty! Our favorites were honestly the chefs board and the mussels! Happy hour is such a fun time! 5-7PM & came on a Monday night. They only allow HH outside, at the bar, or in the smallish lounge area in front of the bar. I ordered the $10 champagne while my friend opted for the red wine. We were both happy with our choices. The champagne wasn't too dry, but not too sweet either. We opted for the charcuterie board & cheese board. 3 cheeses and 3 meats. $12. Salami, prosciutto, & chorizo. Blue cheese, a goat cheese, & another one I can't remember... they also sprinkle some candies nuts, grapes, small raisin type bites, & little bread cuts. Overall, a solid choice. What I really thought was a winner is they have $2 oysters (chargrilled or raw) - and you can order just 1 if you'd like - no minimum!! I chose chargrilled - and keeping in mind they are a happy hour item - they were pretty on point & decent size. We also ordered the salami risotto which was a unique twist on a pretty classic dish. Not too gamey and the sauce was creamy without overdoing it. My friend swore by the macadamia nut ice cream. For $9 a scoop, I told her it that it better be worth it!! But it was... oh so devine! As Haven is a daughter company to the famous Berns Steakhouse next door, and that's where they get some of their ideas/recipes/etc, this particular ice cream is part of one of the desserts at Berns! Tampa bucket list item #1: Happy Hour at Haven For such a well known, high class, hip place... their specials are 100% worth it. I came here on a friday evening, arriving just before opening. As it would happen, it started pouring as myself and about 10 other people were patiently waiting for the restaurant to open. Thankfully, the manager let us inside to stay out of the rain. Upon entering, I'm instantly taken aback by the open layout, beautiful decor, warm atmosphere and the freakin CHEESE BAR! We took a seat at the bar and were given the menu and happy hour menu. For my first drink and chose the cabernet and my boyfriend ordered the champagne. Both were very delicious and not your typical wine on special. We order the cheese board, charcuterie board, paneer, and buffalo skins. The cheese and charcuterie boards were perfect. The paneer was different and had a great flavor. The buffalo skins were not my favorite but to be fair, I didn't really think about the "skins" part before ordering.... The place filled up very quickly and I was very glad we arrived early to grab a seat. We had also ordered a second round with margaritas and blackberry lemonade. Super refreshing and the margarita was simple and delicious (I'm picky when it comes to a good margarita). I think this will be a great spot to revisit when we're back in Tampa! read more

They offer over 300 bourbons and 40 glasses of wine to choose from. They have the areas most enthusiastic cheese program with over 60 different varieties and serve charcuteries, which feature a number of terrines, sausages, torchons and pates. If cheese is your thing, it is best sampled by ordering the Cheese Monger Platter for $47.00, which is a chef's selection of 18 cheeses. This could easily feed 4 people, I think. It was just too much cheese for me, as I eat little dairy. The others in my party were in heaven. Dinner features small plates and my fave way to do this is by sharing. Highlights for me from my most recent trip are the Mojo Palm Hearts, Fried Brussels Sprouts, Brie and Mushroom Toast, Smoked Chicken Biyrani, Snapper Ceviche, Blackened Scallops and Hamachi Crudo. The menu is constantly changing. If they ever have the Roasted Cauliflower I suggest that, as it is delicious. Great restaurant ! Went for the first time for dinner and had a lovely experience. No reservation but even on a busy night they accommodated us. We started with a lovely cheese and meats board adding truffle honey. Great rare cheeses and interesting meats, each paired with their own condiments. We got a few plates to share, as they are all smaller (good as an app or personal entree). We did the collard green dumplings which were interesting. Then the octopus and lobster lo mein. But different in flavor and design but delicious. I highly recommend this place if you enjoy a culinary experience and of course if you love a good glass of wine or cocktail. We ended the dinner with the Dirt Pie, a group up twist on worms in dirt, featuring an edible pot! I'm so glad our friends invited us to dinner, This place as been on my list for a while! My husband and I arrived early and grabbed a drink at the bar. The decor is beautiful and the bar tender made me a yummy "I got Nuttin" old fashion. When our friends arrived we were seated right away and greeted promptly. Our server explained that Haven was more of a tapas style restaurant (which is my type of style ). He did explain that since they are the sister restaurant to Bern's Steakhouse they did have some dinners including their famous steaks dinners. Of course my first thought was (and I did ask) what did you do, cook them at Bern's and walk them down? Thank goodness he had a sense of humor and we all laughed It was a gorgeous night so we sat outside and our friends brought their dog (they are very dog friendly). We had The BBQ Oysters (my favorite), beef tacos (husband loved them) I'm not a fan of corn shells, the octopus (my second favorite), the must have Brussel salad, the Mac & Cheese (was just ok for me) and coke on you can never go wrong with a charcuterie board!! Came here for happy hour with a friend on Friday. Happy hour starts at 5, when they open, and is only available at the bar or outside. I will say I did not expect a mad dash to the bar when the doors opened, but I'm so glad I was one of the first ones in line. Yes, there was a line waiting to get in. I definitely suggest either getting there before they open or about an hour after happy hour starts to try and get a seat at the bar. Otherwise you can definitely sit outside! I wish I had taken more pictures, but I was so excited I forgot! We both ordered the Lychee Lemonade to start and it was very good. The lemonade mix is a good mixture between sweet and tart and was very refreshing. We also tried a glass of the rosè, which was also very good. As for food we shared the cheese plate app and the meatball app. Both were very good! We were unsure what was on the cheese plate, but enjoyed all of it. The meatballs were very well cooked, seasoned, and came with a good amount of sauce for dipping. Overall it was a good experience and I definitely want to return. This is literally one of my favorite restaurants in the Tampa area and I always recommend to everyone to come here for dinner. I bring my mother here every year for her birthday. She loves it too. They have the best selection of cheeses and meats. No other pcan compare. The servers know their menu inside and out and can recommend anything you happen to be craving. Haven also has an incredible happy hour. However, it's bar area only and you better get here when they open..5:00 PM...they get BUSY! I am not surprised at all. I have tried a few things off of their regular menu, but I am a HUGE fan of cheese and meat, that I could honestly pass on anything else. Comping one meal that had plastic in it while the other meals we just as gross doesn't really help too much, unfortunately. Service was good. But everything else was really bad. Salty, cold and there was a massive piece of plastic in my fried rice. When I told the waitress, she didn't seem to worried about it, and just said she would have the kitchen make another. The bone marrow wasn't cooked properly, the mushrooms were massive and took forever to chew, and the tuna was swimming in a bowl of hot chili oil. I couldn't get into Berns Steakhouse a week before w arrived so they recommended their other restaurant I was disappointed and hesitant but it too was a Michelin Restaurant so I made reservations online. Such a great surprise!!! It was a lovely time with my family. The staff was wonderful and atmosphere was relaxed and the food was fabulous. My son realized after having the Brussel Sprouts Salad that he loves Brussel Sprouts now. Makes mama happy to see him eating his vegetables and loving them. The Seabass and Scallops were awesome and the presentation was phenomenal. I loved my Steak and the twist on the sauce. The atmosphere was a bit loud but wonderful. I had my birthday dinner there and I loved everything on the menu! I was excited to see offal items being offered besides the traditional menu items. I tried the chicken thighs and the duck hearts. We also split a salad. My friend had the octopus. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food! I had a birthday dessert and it came with a big sparkler which I thought was a nice touch! The desserts were very good! Some got ice cream (don't sleep on it) and I can't recall what dessert cake I got but it was delish! Let me start by saying the fact that you can make a dessert room reservation at Berns from this place is great BUT that was my favorite part. The food wasn't what I expected for the pricing but the display, presentation, and uniqueness of the plates were definitely there. I truly appreciated the out of the box thinking but everything just needed a "tad" more of something. With it being the sister restaurant of Berns I expected a bit more. It was good but my expectations were a bit higher considering who it's associated with. The service was ok, nothing great or over the top. The waiter was way to fast and at one point we both laughed because we got ONE dish name out of our mouths for 2 people and poof he left us...then at check time the same thing. It was odd and definitely to swift so he couldn't grab the additional details we wanted. I got one glass of wine the entire night because he just wasn't really attentive like you normally would expect for the type of restaurant it was. All in all....ok. But a one and done for us. It's a great experience the first time but there are other restaurants in the area that seem to supersede this place on taste and service for a cheaper price. read more

Haven may have the best Happy Hour in Tampa, especially considering the quality and selection of food and beverages on the Happy Hour menu. I recently ordered the cold smoked chicken tenders and they were fantastic, the avocado ahi tuna toast was also exceptional. Excellent I don't say "excellent" very often. But it is deserved here. The atmosphere is very nice. The servers have an excellent knowledge of the extensive menu with lots of unusual ingredients. We started with a couple of their craft cocktails. Both the "To a Tea" and "Three Amigos" were great. For appetizers we had the happy hour cheese board and the chicken liver pate. The pate was absolutely delicious. We moved on to the excellent fried Brussel sprout salad. For mains we had the Piri Piri chicken and the snapper. Again, both were wonderful. We finished with a couple of scoops of ice cream and their hot fudge. Wonderful all the way around. I look forward to a future visit. read more

The ambiance of this place is great- kind of upscale urban farmhouse. Except not too many plant based options! you'd come here mainly for charcuterie with their delightful variety of cheeses. Went here for our company dinner and it was amazing. We had Kaitlyn as our server and she took great care of us. Heads up it is al cate style, so the "entre" sized meals do not come with sides. Everything is made to be shared in a sense. You have to order several things off the menu for your meal so that's how it gets a little pricey. We had a bunch of different things here and it was all amazing. The chefs cheese and meats board is awesome. For dinner I had the filet mignon, and the Brussel sprout salad.
