My wife and I stopped in for lunch, but ordered breakfast instead (breakfast all day). I had the creamed chip beef. The sauce was excellent. It's one of the best I've had in the region. Not too heavy and not too light, the consistency and flavor was perfect--seriously good. My wife had the goat cheese, bacon, and onion omelette. It was a good portion. She says it was perfect; tasty and an excellent combination of flavors. The small potatoes that accompanied both dishes were perfectly prepared and seasoned. We took home the leftover potatoes for breakfast tomorrow. The price was right for the excellent quality of the meal. We will be heading back soon to try some other dishes. Party of four ate breakfast there this AM. Outstanding food, service and food accommodation. Attentive to coffee refills (coffee as good as I make mine). Haven't eaten creamed chipped beef in years. This is superb. Each of us was fully satisfied with our order. Bacon, eggs, chipped beef, even pancakes, all prepared to order. Minimal wait time for service and for food delivery. Will definitely come here again. Tables are a bit small to accommodate an entrée plate, side plates for potatoes and for toast, a cup of coffee for party of four. Just visited the Havertown Grille and have to say they rose to the occasion during our country's current pandemic. They have separated the restaurant into an in-person eating area (with additional tables outside) and a section to prepare for to-go orders. The waiting staff was very polite and professional. We ordered the pumpkin pancakes and Nutella crepes off the seasonal menu in addition to the breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich off the normal menu. Pumpkin pancakes were to die for! However we don't own a restaurant yet we were still hit with the financial effects of the pandemic as we're so many people. I chose this place for breakfast last Sunday over Springfield Diner. Boy, am I glad I did! Parking was a breeze thanks to the tip from Steven B. The lot next to Hoopty's is your best bet. It's also a huge plus that this place is in Havertown. For me, anyway. Anyway, M and I rolled into this joint in our Sunday best (sweatshirts, old jeans, the works) and were seated immediately. Our waitress was cheerful, prompt and never overbearing. Gotta love that. I went with a short stack of the banana pancakes (a la Jack Johnson), a side of bacon and a side of homefries with onions. I knew I would never be able to eat it all but I wanted it. All of it. M got a scrapple, sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a long roll (heart attack waiting to happen), with a side of homefries. The homefries were DELICIOUS. They were crispy and tasty and just... delicious. My pancakes were also cooked perfectly. For some reason, diners around this area tend to use weird yellow mystery pancake batter, but Havertown Grille's pancakes were nothing like this. They were fluffy and brown, just like they should be! The bacon was also cooked perfectly as well. M highly enjoyed his breakfast sandwich, and he is hard to please. Overall, this place is pretty awesome. Admittedly, I'm quite the picky eater. When I first went into the Havertown Grille, I was starving. Thoughts rushed through my head. "What if I hate the food? What should I order? Should I go dine elsewh- whoops, better apologize for bumping into that lady." Luckily all of these questions were answered, and I was not disappointed. I'll start with the decor. The inside of the Havertown Grille is fairly simple. Photographs are strung about the wall. Two chalkboards are hung in the back to alert you of the specials. A TV is placed nicely above the small bar seating they have (Which sadly had no volume or subtitles). The paint on the end of the restaurant is oddly scratched compared to the front, but I didn't mind. The Grille is very clean, and I only spotted small crumbs here and there. The bathroom is nice too, so no worries about that. The service is unbelievably good. Our waiter greeted us with a friendly smile and a welcome, which made me feel at ease. It was almost like they were our family. The chef deserves a special note for keeping some small children entertained instead of getting enraged by their boundless energy. Hungry beyond belief, I ordered a cheesesteak and a plate of fries. The cheesesteak came in two large halves. As I sunk my fangs into one of the large halves, I was immediately pleased. Though the meat is slightly dry, it was redeemed by its delicious taste. The cheese was distributed perfectly as well. The fries were nothing to scoff at, being crispy and flavorful. To sum it all up, the Havertown Grille is a great place to eat. I regret not trying more of their dishes. If you can look past the slightly bland decor, this place is definitely a must try. read more

I have to hand to it Havertown, they just cannot get food right. Literally every establishment that opens here is all hype but no bite. It's almost as if the residences here are used to bad food, making them completely oblivious when something low quality is served to them. There is just something in particular about pizza and breakfast that this town cannot figure out. It's hard to go into detail about eggs, bacon and toast...so I'll just lay it on the line. Everything was low quality. Typical cheap diner eggs probably purchased in orders of 500. The bacon, the one thing that is hard to hate no matter how long it has been sitting out was also a huge disappointment. Hash browns were more like hash....no browning. I left what little faith I had remaining in the rye toast, only to be shot down to see that the cheap diner butter packets I received were completely frozen solid. New places in this town make the residences heads spin. They attack it in packs like hungry wolves and will keep returning to their newest feeding ground without taking any time to critique what exactly they are eating. Just venture down the street to the Llanerch Diner, get a decent breakfast. read more

It was a snowy day, traffic was not great, and we needed our fix for some good breakfast. My wife and I ventured out to Havertown Grille, after reading some good reviews about the place. We arrived to a great spot, where parking adjacent to the building was pretty nice. The cozy atmosphere and family run feel of the place made us feel right at home. My wife got a californian omelet and I got the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich, which I substituted the sausage for chorizo. The food was brought out in good time, and we were soon on our way to eating a great breakfast, with piping hot coffee as the snow fell on the ground outside. Our waiter was very attentive to anything we wanted and they genuinely looked happy to be working there. We will definately be back to this place. read more

5 stars hands down because the breakfast sandwich with PULLED PORK, egg, and cheese blew me away. I would never have thought to put pulled pork on a breakfast sandwich but it was delicious. It was huge and served on a long roll with a side of hash browns. The pulled pork was flavorful and tender. Loved seeing something unique like that on the menu. Definitely seemed like they didn't have enough servers/food runners to manage the brunch rush, however, everyone was pretty attentive and polite. Great little breakfast spot (that was the meal I had while I was there) Nick was working the griddle and doing a fine job. They do not pre-butter the bread (huge plus there!) What a pleasant surprise the Havertown Grill was. I drive by this small strip of stores a descent amount and never really noticed this place. One day it caught my eye for some reason, I looked up some reviews (on Yelp) and decided to try it for breakfast the next day. Great choice. The inside is very tight, but it's clean and the waiters are very friendly. I sat at the counter and got an omelet (as I almost always do for breakfast). It was really good, cooked well, not too much cheese. The home fries were VERY good. It is amazing how so many places give awful home fries (under cooked even when requested well done, under seasoned, too greasy, etc). These home fries are very high on my list. Hopefully it was not an accident and they are that good all the time. No complaints about the coffee either. Also, it was cheap. Before tip the bill was like $18 for two people. Really good breakfast option. I will definitely be back and plan to try lunch there too. read more

We really love this place but in recent months is seems to have changed with staff and cooks. We only come for breakfast so I cannot speak to the lunch menu. Staff is typically very friendly and responsive to needs however recently not as responsive. The breakfast foods seem to have taken a hit in quality with minced scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes for homefries. I make better, and cheaper, breakfast at home. We will continue to try a couple of more times for breakfast but if it doesn't change we won't be coming back. Update: we continue to come for breakfast and things have been better. read more

Where to begin? I have been there for breakfast a few times and I can't seem to steer away from the breakfast burrito. Its the perfect ratio of chorizo, peppers, onions and egg in your choice tortilla. I have also had their breakfast sandwhiches and they are equally amazing, plenty of combinations and the eggs are cooked perfectly. for lunch, so many great options. I normally get their Chicken Gyro, which is filled abundantly with chicken, L/T/O and amazing tzetki sauce. Their club sandwhiches, burgers are also great. But their salads are amazing. So fresh and so much chicken!! Only complaint is that they are not open on Mondays and for dinner or I would go there even more!!! read more

Sure enough, the bill for two two eggs specials, a cheeseburger, an ham and cheese omellet, a Turkey sandwich, two coffees, one OJ and a Coke was $83 Pre-tip. And the food was also bad. Stopped in for lunch with my friend. I am always pulled here for breakfast because I love their breakfast, but was so glad we stopped in for lunch! I had a chicken pita and some fries. So delicious! The bread was so soft and the chicken was delicious. The fries were fresh out of the fryer and perfect. My friend had a Cobb salad and it looked fantastic. Once again, the service was great. Fast and friendly. It reminded me why I love this place. The owner and chef always greets me and makes sure everyone is happy and everything tastes alright. I have been to the Havertown Grille a few times for breakfast and the place is consistently good! I brought my kids there this morning and my one daughter enjoyed a short stack of pancakes while my other daughter and I each got the creamed chipped beef. The portions are huge and quite tasty! It was so large that we probably could have split the dish but at least I have leftovers to enjoy later...the service was very good as well. The place is small and there was a short wait for a table but that's a good sign, plus they turn tables quickly. I don't think they have a kids menu which would be nice...but overall a positive experience again. We will be back! read more

I ate twice, first time I had the steak Phil sandwich with Swiss cheese it was great . TodayI had the Mediterranean omelette it is huge and very good if you like olives onions and loads of different vegetables. The only reason this misses a star is because the place is kinda small and the menu is small as well (it's classic though), but I guess that makes sense cause it's not like they have a lot of room for a big kitchen. Plus i'd rather a small menu the chefs can execute flawlessly than a large one they're not very good at. Anyway what's most important is the food and it was phenomenal and the prices were great. A friend and I went in for breakfast and I got this amazing goat cheese, spinach and tomato omelette (it was a special that day) which came with toast and hash browns like all the omelettes do. The total was only 7 dollars for me and I was full the whole day after. They serve breakfast and lunch all day as well! That's a huge plus for me. read more

I went to breakfast here with four friends on a busy Saturday morning and only had to wait a few minutes for a table (we arrived just as someone was leaving). The wait staff was a little slow due to being so busy but they were still friendly. Unfortunately, the coffee and water did not get filled as fast as we would like. The Nutella french toast was delicious. The omelets were decent (could use a little more "pep" ) the pancakes were fault free and traditional. The food was fresh, tasty and very decent. I was in need of a walkable place for lunch this week after Art class with my two boys. We have the Havertown Grille a shot. I think the owners are Greek, not sure, but the food had a Greek flare to it. My Veggie Gyro was very, very good. Veggies crisp and the pita warm and chewy. My boys go pancake and said they loved them. Overall, very good diner food, but nothing super special. However I'm adding a full star for service. The service was outstanding (not what you would expect at a diner). My kids dropped their forks a few times, and within seconds a server was over with new ones. Our server was extremely nice as well; warm, friendly and inviting. If the owners are reading this post, PLEASE keep up the great service, it does matter to some of us...we all be back again soon. read more

I love this place!! I grew up in Jersey where the diner is king. I have been here multiple times and every thing is always great. The people that work here are A+. Everyone is always very friendly and accommodating. It's like having breakfast at your own house without the work. The breakfast is great and exactly the way i want it. Stopped by the Havertown Grille on my way to work and was absolutely starving. Met with a smile walking in the door and was asked to sir wherever I wished. I chose the bar (I like watching food being prepared if I can) and ordered chipped beef on toast, home fries with onions, and rye toast. It was absolutely phenomenal. Everything is made right there an I asked Nick (chef) what his secret was....he smiled and said "I grew up in the food business, you have to care". That was enough for me, as the waitress Stacey? Was more then friendly and attentive, coffee was good not great, and continuously filled. It's a bit small but accommodating. Ready for this???? It cost me $9 before tip???????? My husband and I tried Havertown Grille for the first time on Sunday morning. Loved it! Service was friendly but not intrusive to our conversation. I always order 2 eggs over medium when I go out for breakfast. It's amazing how many places don't do that properly. This place made them perfectly. Same for the scrapple. Food was hot-- always a big deal for me. Our tea cups were refilled without having to flag down a server. To me it's all these little things that make for a very pleasant experience. This place has gone through a facelift since my last visit five years ago but, sadly, the food hasn't improved. I popped in again because Ming's--my go-to--was closed for vacation. My breakfast burrito was good enough, but the accompanying hash browns were the consistency of dry mashed potatoes--my only guess is that the has browns had been on the stove so long that they completely broke down into mush. It's a good thing there's hot sauce on the table, because it was needed to make the hash browns edible. My breakfast partner had pancakes, which were fine . . . although he was disappointed to get pancake syrup in a small plastic container rather than real maple syrup to pour. Service was lackadaisical at best. It started off well enough: we were dropped off at our table, drink and food orders taken relatively quickly. But then our server disappeared. We had track down an employee to ask for coffee refills. Food took quite some time to arrive at the table. I don't mind a leisurely-paced breakfast; however, this place gets so loud that it's hard not to get a headache, and it's impossible to have a conversation with the person sitting next to you without raising your own voice and adding to the general cacophony. It's a stressful atmosphere with all the ear-splitting noise, and it's made worse by the slow/non-existent service. read more
