First, let me say that Haverty's really disappointed my husband and I by delivering furniture that was damaged and expect us to accept the furniture like that!! The service sucked and my husband called them over and over again to resolve the issue. They just wanted a sale, and after it was sold, they did not care how we received it as well as trying to resolve any issues that may arise. Havertys used to be a great place to shop but not anymore. The value of the furniture is not the same as it used to be either. I would rather go to Ethan Allen than to deal with them again in the near future. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Also, if you are a person of color you are in for a treat. Colored salesperson will only help colored customers if they bother to help at all. We arrived at the store to purchase a living room set and as we walked in, the entire sales team looked at us from head to toe and returned to look at their phones. At this point there was about 1 other customer in the store looking around. We walk by at least 5-6 other sales people and not one of them acknowledged us. 30 minutes into our visit we are looking around not one greet, hello, or anything from the sales team. My wife and I purposely stood around the entrance of the store waiting for someone to approach us and nothing. While standing in the front of the store 3-4 customers walk in and immediately the sales team walks right by us and continue to greet and help the customers that arrived after us. It was obvious that the way we were dressed the felt we couldn't afford their product so no help was offered. "Never judge a book by its cover" Soon after another couple walks into the store dressed exactly the same as us, t shirt, shorts and sandals. What was the difference? The difference was we weren't the same complexion. You can feel an instant difference in treatment if you don't look like them or if they feel you can't afford their product. Today I went in looking for a bunk bed, upon entry the Sport coat clad salesman looked at me and my daughter (we were in jeans and sweat shirts) promptly snubbed his nose at us, turned his head and walked away. No hello, good morning, can I help you... I guess I didn't look like a buyer ( his mistake). I will be happy to take my business/money someplace else. Someone needs to know that there is a retail associate that works in this store that makes customers feel unwanted. I am building a house and I came to this store to purchase my furniture, and I have a credit card with you all. His name is Steve. He immediately told me that I only had 5 mins to look around because the y closed at 7. Being in sales myself for 15 years, I understand the importance of making a customer feel welcomed. He told me that he was going to escort me out of the store several times, he yelled at me, I asked him to get out of my face and he refused, I also asked him to get away from me which he also refused. I told him I would call the police if he continued to harass me, and he told me he didn't care and that he was going to escort me out of the store, because I lied to him saying I would only be in the store for five minutes. All of this incident happened 3 mins after the store closed. I understand closing times but you never make a customer feel like they are not welcomed. I had a great shopping & delivery experience at this store in Savannha. Matthew Badcock was terrific at helping us decide on a couch and was very patient with my indecisiveness. I would recommend this store and Matthew. Delivery only took one week. The couch is working out great. We ordered bar stools & dinning chairs. After delivery one dinning chair was one too many. So the delivery person took it back and Matthew called and immediately took it off my credit card. Great Service Team as well as sales. read more

Now that we have had our furniture for 30+ days, we are very disappointed. We purchased new living room and bedroom sets, plus rugs, and most of the items have required service. Custom fabric chair backing broke after one week, about half of dresser drawers stick, and we have been waiting over 3 months for new handle on dresser that came in scratched. Half of rugs returned since they came in damaged. Once we got our initial large order delivered, salesperson disappeared regarding other items we asked him to help with. We still have several more rooms to furnish but won't go back. Haverty's is very good at following up on service calls but we cant afford to have them coming to the house each week. read more

We bought a queen sleigh bed, looked nice from the start. After 2 years, the side rail broke, that is when we realized it was actually pressed wood underneath the paper-thin laminate. We will be getting a refund through the guardsman warranty and searching for a bed elsewhere. As for the Guardsman warranty, you will have the facilitate the entire transaction start to finish... no follow-up from Guardsman or Haverty's. read more

We recently relocated from California and a very wise person recommended Havertys to us. On our first of numerous trips in we were greeted by salesman Mike Hill. He is fantastic, friendly, honest and super knowledgeable! Love the fact that he is not pushy like some other sales people have been. We furnished our dining room, bedroom, grandkids room and purchased various other pieces. All beautiful and high quality merchandise! We highly recommend seeing Mike . We will be in again! Delivery was also top notch! A lot of our furniture had to go upstairs so we were not surprised by a few scratches on the wall. The driver actually showed us, took pics and within 5 minutes of their departure Customer service had called to resolve the issue. That, is excellent customer service! read more

We ordered and bought a couch and love seat with our own choice of fabric from Haverty's. When the two pieces arrived, neither piece sat like the model in the store. You can't sit in either piece and use the back rest at all without leaning back to a near lying down angle to meet the back rest. The other alternative is sit on it like sitting on a backless stool. It is to the point where it is making my back ache. Haverty's says that is the way it is supposed to be and they will do nothing; she said "the model in the store sits better because many people sit in it". That statement is utter nonsense. I recommend you don't ever special order anything from Haverty's if you want to receive something like what you saw in the store or if you want a store that backs its product. Three grand wasted money. read more

As a first-time customer, I expected superior quality and customer service. What a joke! I purchased a sofa and love seat, was told they were in stock with scheduled delivery in 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, I called and was told 2 more weeks. They promised delivery if I didn't cancel the order. Third call and they said it was pushed back 2-3 weeks. A total of 8 weeks! Their excuse was that the sofa pillows had to be made!!! Again, I said I wanted to cancel and was told I would be charged 25% of my total order! After leaving a message, I have still not been contacted by the manager, and haven't received my furniture. Do NOT buy from Havertys. They offer no customer assistance and will continuously lie to you. read more

We picked out a sofa and an ottoman at the Haverty's location on Abercorn. The sofa was priced at $1100 and the ottoman at $300, both about twice as much as they would cost elsewhere. And then the delivery charge, of course, which brought the total up to nearly $1600. But if that's what it costs to get a nice sofa, so be it. Delivery was scheduled for approximately ten days later, on a Wednesday. I took the day off of work. Less than 24 hours before our furniture was due to arrive, however, I received an email informing me that the sofa was stuck in customs and wouldn't be delivered for another week. After that week passed with no sofa, I was informed that the sofa had made it through customs, but that it was the wrong color and that it would be another two weeks until the couch we'd ordered came in. And that's when we cancelled the order, because a month is too freakin' long to have to wait for a stupid couch, especially when there are twenty other furniture stores in the area that can deliver on schedule. Screw you, Haverty's. I don't need your overpriced crap. I'll take my money elsewhere. So should everyone else. read more

Purchased a 800 dollar rug from Haverty s with a extended warranty. After 10 months the rug started to fade out and was losing its color. Had a service rep come by and also said the rug was damaged. However got a call back later from a customer rep who said there was nothing wrong and they would not replace it. Very poor quality. Will not be purchasing anything else from Havertys read more

Haverty's was at one time a very upscale, fine furniture store. If you bought furniture from Haverty's you were buying quality. Not so these days. DO NOT spend your hard earned money on the overpriced junk that they sell now. An $800 sofa should last more than two months without caving in. If we have not purchased the warranty, we would be propping up the sofa with blocks. BEWARE! If you do have money to throw away, you had better buy the warranty (and they aren't cheap). Never again will I purchase from them nor do I recommend their cheaply made, inferior products to anyone. read more

I have been extremely disappointed with my experience with Havertys in Savannah, GA. I purchased a couch less than a year ago and had to wait two months for delivery because it was back ordered. Three months ago my husband realized one of the couch cushions was separating at the seam so I called Customer Service to have it replaced. It took a month for a technician to come out and take pictures of the cushion. A replacement was ordered and a service appointment was scheduled for the beginning of June. The appointment was then rescheduled three times by Havertys because of technicians not being available. I was finally given a service appointment for today between 2:45 pm and 4:45 pm. At 5 pm I called Customer service because the technician hadn't shown up and I hadn't received a phone call letting me know they were running behind. The customer service rep put me on hold and called the technician and had to leave a message with them because they didn't answer. At 5:45 pm I called Customer Service a second time because no one had shown up and I still hadn't received a phone call. I was given a horrible excuse of the technician being lost and told that someone would call me today to reschedule my appointment. Clearly customer service is not a concern for this company. I have wasted my time and my money on a problem with my couch that would not have happened had it been a product that was constructed well. I will not be making any more purchases from Havertys in the future. read more
