I've been coming to this lube shop for a couple of years now, and it's starting to grow on me. Conveniently located near the Med Center, yet isolated enough that it doesn't get inundated by customers, this Havoline is inexpensive and efficient, with short wait times and long hours. I could never understand why I had to wait 1.5 hours at NTB for an oil change, but never again. The service here is reasonably good and consistent, with reasonable upselling for additional service detected during the oil change. By reasonable, I mean that they'll only try to upsell a service that you actually do need, as opposed to the shadier national chains that try to convince you that your car needs full service every year, giving vague reasons in the process. In the end, the convenience of this location, the price point, and the consistency of the service has kept me coming back. It's not the cleanest of locations, and the waiting area leaves a lot to be desired, but it beats waiting around at other places or paying a significant premium for inconsistent service at the dealer. read more

The team here works well together and always shows my car love. There are multiple packages offered along with the standard oil change. Sometimes you can catch them with great specials. Not too long ago I took my brother and we had both of our cars fluids (ALL FLUIDS) checked/replaced for under 40$ Standard oil change alone will run you around 20$ but service is fast and quality is good Friendly atmosphere read more

Had my wife's oil changed there once and needed to get my oil changed so decided to give them some repeat business, BIG MISTAKE. I arrive at the location around 7:55 and wait...manager / owner/ operator drives up right at 8 and proceed to open the place up. I give him a few minutes to do whatever he needs to do, finally they open the bay doors but no one comes out to see what I am there for. So, I finally walk inside and tell them I need an oil change. They say special or full service, after getting the difference between to, I opt for the full service. So, when the oil change was finally completed, they drive my car back to the front and the guy goes and starts topping off fluids on another car. So, I wait a little longer, finally he comes in and tells me how much I owe. I was shocked that the price was higher than told by the other mechanic but just ready to get my car and leave the place. Apparently the oil which was suppose to come with the full service was extra and I needed a special filter. The guys there have no customer service, they come off rude and grumpy but hey some people just don't have the customer service gene. My car was suppose to get vacuumed but didn't, shocker. Honestly, I don't know why this place has bad reviews at all. I drove around to three other places trying to get my car inspection done on a busy Saturday afternoon and each place in the area was rude and told me I'd have to wait 2 hours even though there were only 3 cars ahead of me. I called Havoline and they told me to come see them and they would get me in right away! So I did and they did not disappoint! The front desk man was so accommodating and extremely respectful when helping me out. I WAS IN AND OUT IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES!!! I will definitely be back for all other services and will tell my friends about this place!! Thank you!! read more

DISGUSTED! i had been going to this shop for oil changes for over a year. my car stopped on me 2 weeks ago, my mechanic told me i was long over due for an oil change, which i THOUGHT i had gotten only a month ago. he told me that there was less than a quart of oil in my car and that the oil pump was so dry and brittle it fell apart. i had been loyal to this shop, praised their speed, and referred family, friends, and coworkers. Quick service. I had to pay extra because my car takes synthetic oil but that's normal with some newer vehicles.

I took my vehicle in today (7-16-16) to get oil change and tire rotation. Guy at the counter asked the lube tech guy (Rob) about tire rotation his exact words were "nah I'm not rotating tires". It would have been one thing if they were busy but we were they only car there. Very unprofessional service. I have brought both my cars here a few times but I will not be back. I just though you should know how your employees treat/talk to customers. read more

Great experience, we were driving by and some guys were standing outside waving signs for oil changes and my friend needed one so we decided to try it out. Everyone was super friendly and acted like they were genuinely happy to be at work. They were trying to expand their knowledge quizzing eachother about my friends car while they changed his oil, which was cool to see. Overall we were very pleased with the service and wanted to leave a review saying how awesome the team was! We will be back in in 3000 miles! read more

This place is the worse. I went in to get an inspection and they failed me stating that my tires needed to be changed. My car is not even 2 years old with only 21k miles. So I took the car to my dealership and the technician said I had plenty of life on my tires. I went back to this location and the inspector that failed me was argumentative and combative. I asked to speak to the owner and he wouldn't even give me the information. He was very rude. I will never take any one of my cars to this location ever again. You can have this money but never again. Also, after this incident, I took my car down to a different inspection location and they passed me easily. On another note, I don't know if this place was in cahoot with Discount Tires or anything, as he told me why don't I go get new tires there after failing me. So please be wary of this location, as I will be reporting this to BBB. read more

I got there for oil change on 1st January and there were only 2 guys there. I went there couple of times before and it was ok. But this time the guys tried to convince me that my new air filter needed replacement and when i rejected they simply overfilled my engine with their cheap oil which leaded to bubbling in the engine and noisy start. That is what you get for 23$. If you have a nice car, just go where you trust, believe me. Now i doubt if they really change oil or just fake you with 1 gallon out 1 gallon in scheme read more

Now the reasons I gave 1 star are after getting my oil changed 2 days ago I was told by a mechanic that was there that he works for the company and that my thermostat was bad. He offered to fix it for me the next time he was in the shop and I was like great thanks I'll be back. So I showed up yesterday and they tell me he would be back today, so I went in a few minutes ago place was empty and had to listen to the staff arguing with the mechanic because he didn't want to get out of his car to tell me he no longer wanted to work on my car...SMH businesses fail because of lazy workers like this that promise you something and fail to deliver. I will probably be taking all of my business elsewhere and you can thank your supposed ASE certified mechanic for ruining my view of this establishment and the trust one should feel when you say you will fix a problem and shake hands. read more

I went to this location to simply have an oil change. I should have known better. I used to bring my vehicles here all the time. But when they put the wrong oil in my work truck - and it was verified by my husband who is a mechanic in the military, we went back and the then Manager (Lou, who drove in daily from Baytown) was very apologetic and changed out the wrong oil replacing with the recommended oil. He was very nice and just could not understand why he could not get good people to work for him. Well, I called on Sunday, August 6, 2017 to inquire into an oil change on my older van. The person who answered the phone name was Eric, the manager. He did not sound so keen, but I really needed to have my oil changed quickly as I just returned back from a long trip. I drove up there. Turned off my van. Took the key out of the ignition and walked in and proceeded to complete the required paperwork since that particular vehicle was not in their system. It was then driven into a stall by Eric, I believe. My oil was changed. Then my vehicle appeared outside in front as they were done with my oil change. I noticed that he (the technician, not Eric) did not bring the keys to me in the inside as they usually do. This time I paid then went outside to find my car running. I was quite surprised. I got in only to find that they had jammed the key into the ignition and it would not turn off. Immediately I called Eric to ask him why and what happened to my car since I drove it here. Because it works, I took the keys out and no problem - just drove back from Austin, Texas with no problems, stopping along the way. Eric immediately stated what do you want me to do. It is old. I told him yes, it is a 1991 in very good shape. He kept saying what do you want me to do. I wanted my car the way it was when I drove up - that is what I told him. After 30 minutes or so as he tried to get the key out of the ignition. The technician who drove it around NEVER came to offer any explanation or anything. I told Eric I cannot believe this! and the technician did not come to me out of respect when he got out of the vehicle from driving it around to tell me that it does not turn off and that the key is stuck. Eric kept saying, it is old, it was time. He never ever even asked the technician. It had to have happened after he changed the oil because you cannot change the oil with the engine running, so I knew the technician jammed my key. He did not seem as though he wanted to be at work on that Sunday. Eric showed me how to disconnect the battery and take out the fuse when I reached my home because that is the only way to stop the engine from running. I called a locksmith who told me that the key had been jammed and is stuck and for fear of breaking inside the ignition - he recommends that I have a new ignition put in. I did not have any issues until I bought my car to these idiots for an oil change. I knew better but I was being lazy. I will never ever go to this location ever again and will inform all I know not to as well. The service over the years has gone way down. It should be shut down! They of new service to the community. They do not smile. They seem so unhappy. read more

I have been a customer of this location through three cars, but the relationship is over now. Took my 2014 Honda CRV for an oil change in December 2014. Within 24 hours all the oil ran out because the drain plug was replaced improperly. Asked for a refund of the amount I paid for the oil change (in writing and with appropriate documentation) and did not receive it. Will not return to this business and will no longer recommend to others. read more
