MANA sunset cruise from Ko Olina - the absolute highlight of our trip!!!…read more We are no strangers to Catamaran excursions - trips in the British Virgin Islands, Greece, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. By far, Captain Travis and First Mate Taylor were exceptional, leaving no detail to chance. We were warmly greeted with a drink and were given a very thorough safety briefing. Both were meticulous in their duties to their craft as well as to their guests. The catamaran was immaculate, an outstanding demonstration of the care and maintenance it receives - impressive for a 2008 Cat. Thanks MANA and crews for your care and concern. We had only 5 of us aboard ( they allow a maximum of only 6) which really enhanced the experience. As we got underway drinks were served and then came what I thought was going to be a sampling of local snacks. No, it was a full dinner made by Taylor that was some of the freshest, best food we have had on the Island, followed by a dessert second to none. The other guests dietary restrictions were taken into consideration and we sailed (and for a portion of the trip we were under full sail & not motoring) around with soft Hawaiian reggae playing. The two hours flew by.... We were regaled with stories of the Islands and some very interesting facts. Sure there are less expensive, far more crowded sunset tours... but NOTHING compares to this one. It was worth every cent. When we return we will have already booked this trip before we board our again! Do yourself a favor, splurge on a really personal Hawaiian experience and book this trip. You will be richly rewarded & have memories for years to come! There may be no traffic jams on the extra mile... but you will find on this excursion, Captain Travis & First Mate Taylor are on the extra mile & demonstrate what the extra mile should look like! A very important note - we recommend if you are coming from the Waikīkī area that you plan on leaving early and planning a light lunch at Ko Olina - the Monkeypod, or one of the restaurants in the hotels. The traffic leaving Waikiki in the afternoon is horrible in the afternoon and could take several hours to navigate to Ko Olina.

Everyone was so friendly and professional and kind. The boat is absolutely beautiful and it was perfect for our family who chartered it in order to do an ash scattering. The weather was gorgeous and we even got to see some dolphins on our way back. Overall, it was a perfect experience and I'll definitely recommend them to anyone who would love to splurge a bit and go out on the water in a beautiful boat. I hope to someday get to rent with them again.

Multiple guests were getting seasick, as the Captain tried his best to navigate the waters. One guest nearly fainted and after that, the atmosphere on the boat changed. The Captain wasn't talking much and it seemed as if he just wanted to get back to the dock. Knowing the weather conditions, I wish the tour was rescheduled. We saw some fish and barely saw a turtle. I know the tour doesn't guarantee seeing wildlife, but it was disappointing hardly seeing anything in the glass bottom. To add, the glass bottom is just 4 boxes that you have to peek over to see. I didn't get seasick, so it was still nice to be out on the water and enjoying the views of the ocean. Prior to the incident, the captain was very educational and funny. Overall, had the tour been on a different day with more permitting weather, I think it would've been great.

Even though we have done this excursion many times, there's always a twist. On our latest adventure, we got to see five monk seals, with two of them playing in the ocean like little puppies. We had a good group and had time to do extra things on this trip. Our guide, Tupre, made it a fun and interesting tour, throwing in historical and additional wildlife information. This experience solidified our decision to book Kailua Beach Adventures on our next trip to Oahu.

It's located across the street from Kailua Beach Park. You have to cart your own kayak from the rental shop to the beach shore where you'll meet your guide. We were in a group of six and one guide. They have single and double kayaks. The guided tour provides life vests, dry bags, snorkels, water bottles, and lunch. The trip to the island took us approximately 1.5 hours maybe a bit more to Kayak the 2.3 miles due to strong head winds. It was faster on the return trip. We even had time to stop on flat island. This is one of my favorite activities to do while on Oahu. I love the scenic views heading to the "Mokes" and I love the views looking toward Oahu while out on the water. It's such a magical kayaking adventure. The island is a bird sanctuary and if you go at the right time you'll see nesting birds and if you are lucky, you'll see the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal. We saw three (maybe four, not sure if one was the same one that swam to a different spot) on Moku Nui and one on Popoi'a Island sandbar. If you are adventurous and have the stamina and strength to kayak, I highly recommend this tour for you! Our guide Two-pre was the best!!! He told us that the tour we were on was his 400th!!

They ensured everyone got to see turtles and in fact they headed a participant back just when we were being called back to the boat after discovering he didn't get to see turtles. The attention to detail was superb and attention to safety and ensuring everyone had fun was commendable!

As first-time snorkelers traveling with a child, our experience did not align with those expectations. Equipment distribution was poorly handled. Masks were handed out with little to no instruction, and basic questions were met with a rude and dismissive attitude. Overall communication and service were lacking. Once in the water, guidance was minimal and inconsistent. The experience felt rushed and disorganized, with limited support for guests who were new to snorkeling. The tone and treatment we received also made us uncomfortable as Asian guests. After sharing feedback, the company clarified in writing that they do NOT advertise or position this as a beginner-friendly snorkeling tour. Based on both that clarification and our experience, I would strongly recommend that beginners or families looking for clear instruction and attentive guidance consider other operators. Sharing this to help future guests set accurate expectations before booking.

Once we got out on the water, the experience was unforgettable. We swam with colorful fish and sea turtles, saw dolphins, and even got to see false killer whales. It was truly a great day out at sea. The crew was exceptional: Capt. Dani, Ben, Faavae, Kania, Roxanne, Kirra, Bernard, and Keely all made the trip special. Keely deserves a special shout-out! The crew provided educational facts, acted as lifeguards, served food and drinks, and even danced, making the whole experience fun, safe, and memorable. But despite being called a "Dolphin and You" tour, there is only dolphin WATCHING from the boat -- no swimming with dolphins. They also only stop at one snorkel spot in shallow waters.m whereas most companies have you snorkel at 2. Maybe if I had never been on another tour, I would have thought this was good, but I'd only recommend this for people who want to mainly watch things from the boat and not snorkel. I honestly saw more marine life where I live in OC. On a previous tour with a different company, I swam in waters where dolphins were swimming all around and underneath me -- it was a core memory, and I was hoping to recreate that experience. They also don't let you swim very far from the boat, which made the experience feel overly restrictive. Because the website is not clear I will lay down the iternary: 6:00am pick-up from hotel (about 1.5 hrs to get there) Restroom stop at Fareharbor 1 hr dolphin watching--basically your just on a boat 1 hr snorkel--will see sparse fish 1 hr return--will give you sandwich and water cups no water bottles, temporary tattoo offered Return to hotel: another 1.5 hrs to drop everyone off etc Kind of waste of money $180+ and my precious vacation time. Also, be wary of the reviews. They offer incentives for leaving one. Sorry, but as a Yelp Elite, my honest opinion can't be bought.
