After having a difficult experience at another pediatric dental office, I was nervous about bringing my children in, but Hawaiʻi Pediatric Dentistry completely exceeded my expectations. As a parent, it can feel overwhelming and even a little embarrassing when your child is overdue for a dental appointment or may need extensive dental work. My children struggle with anxiety, and my 8-year-old daughter was especially nervous. The entire team was incredibly patient, compassionate, and understanding. They took the time to make her feel comfortable and never rushed her through the process. The dentist thoroughly explained everything to me, walked me through the recommended treatment plan, and answered all of my questions. Together, we were able to come up with the best approach for my daughter and schedule future appointments with confidence. Finding a pediatric dentist who is truly patient with anxious children can be challenging, but I am so grateful we found Hawaiʻi Pediatric Dentistry. My baby's first dentist visit at 1 year old was such a great experience! The office is very responsive to phone calls and text messages, and they were able to get us in quickly which, as any parent knows, is everything when you have a baby. The office is clean, beautiful, and very welcoming. My son loved how quick and gentle the care was, and he enjoyed watching TV during his cleaning. They also gave out great goodie bags after the visit, which was such a sweet touch and made the experience even more fun for him. We'll definitely be back for his next 6-month visit! read more

Love this dental service for kids! I brought my baby here for her 1st appointment and she was under 2 years old. They take military tri-care insurance and was able to see her the next day after I called. Great little office full of wonderful and sweet dental professionals. 5 STARS!! Absolutely the best! My daughter (2 y/o) is always so comfortable here. The office is super clean, the staff is so friendly, patient, and amazing with little ones. Finding a dentist who provides such gentle, thoughtful care for kids is everything. They truly make the experience positive and stress-free. The TV on the ceiling in the rooms are such a cute touch and keeps the kids occupied when lying down, and they even give little gifts at the end which my daughter loves to pick out. This was our second check up for our son, he is 17 months now and the first time we came in he was about 8 months old with 4 teeth. As first time parents sometimes it's hard to find reliable information sometimes. At our initial exam they asked questions about pacifiers, breastfeeding schedule, and brushing. We've been here twice now so I thought it was a good time for a review. I highly recommend Hawaii Pediatric Dentistry! Dr. Lee and his entire staff are great! They're so welcoming with my kids. I trust the work they do completely as they are meticulous and very efficient. Dr. Lee and his hygienist are knowledgeable, takes the care to answer all my questions, and seems to enjoy their job and I love that. His office staff is accommodating and attentive. I've been able to get appointments quickly, same day treatments, etc. His receptionist is super helpful, friendly, and very good at responding. Scheduling is a breeze and she figures out insurance so that there's no hassle for us. The office space is very new, clean, and spacious. Easy to find, lots of parking. Decided to switch my two sons over to Hawaii Pediatric in Ho'opili and everything was such a great and fast experience. From scheduling their first appointment, verifying that the insurance is accepted there, the visit itself, everything was amazing. Workers were really sweet and friendly, my sons felt comfortable in the environment and that's honestly the most important thing overall. My two boys were very excited and appreciative that being it was our first time there Dr.Lee and the staff offered either a new water bottle or hat, along with a tote bag. I will say overall everything was such a pleasant visit and would recommend to parents searching for a pediatric dentist. There was just one thing that bothered me a bit.. while waiting for Dr.Lee to come in and do I guess the final inspection of their teeth one of the employees came in just to check in on us. Which was nice and just trying to make small talk but one of her comments I felt were just a little unnecessary.. she was very very sweet and I'm sure she meant it in a nice way but she did ask "oh are they brothers? But they have different last names? Do they have different dads?" I'm sure it was innocent but I felt like it was unnecessary lol especially to ask in front of a 6 and 2 year old. We went ahead and picked Dr Lee as our son's pediatric dentist. Scheduling was very easy and I liked that they were only down the road from our house! The staff made it very easy to schedule his new patient appointment. I absolutely love that they also text you and you can respond to them back via text because as a busy momma sometimes it's easier to text than be on the phone lol Anyway we scheduled our appointment and filled out his paperwork ONLINE lol again which made things so much easier. We got to his appointment and the location was easy to find with parking on the side of the building and in the back. The office was clean and new! His staff was very sweet and welcoming because I was soooo nervous lol more nervous than my son! Dr Lee did my son's dental cleaning and exam, they were gentle with him and it went by pretty quick! Absolutely 5+ stars for this dentistry! We have switched dentists a total of 3 times for various reasons before recently switching over to Dr. Lee and we couldn't be more happy with this decision! Not only is his office in a great and accessible location with lots of free parking, but Dr. Lee and his entire staff are very professional & so competent/experienced in their various roles. I reached out to Dr. Lee's office on short notice due to being notified that my child had an abscess on one of his teeth by another dental office that had done screenings recently at my child's school. Coincidentally, one of his baby teeth was loose and needed to be removed before our trip in a few days. I called Dr. Lee's office right away and we were met with a challenge - his office was closing half day and there were no openings in the next few days before we leave. His receptionist was so kind to check with Dr. Lee they graciously agreed to stay late and squeezed us in the same day for an evaluation. We rushed over and we were greeted warmly with friendly smiles despite them having to work overtime. We were taken back immediately. X-rays were done and showed that there was more work that needed to be done than expected. It was going to take a total of 45 minutes for the procedure requiring a total of 8 teeth that needed treatment. My child was so nervous and anxious, but Dr. Lee and his staff were very reassuring and comforting to my child and I. I'm a nurse myself, but when it's your own child and on the other end of the needle, it's a different story. Dr. Lee's assistant took the time to acknowledge my child's feelings and oriented him to everything he was seeing in the treatment room - saying, "I know it looks scary, but it's going to be okay. It'll be done in no time as long as we take nice deep breaths". She gently positioned him on the exam chair and tucked him in a soft blanket before securing his restraints. She referenced being tucked in like a caterpillar, which was a nice touch of humor during that time. The restraints (I hate to use that word), are not horrible at all. No straps or buckles are used, but rather just Velcro-type vests that were very effective against my strong 8-year old. I consented to nitrous oxide because I knew my child was not going to cooperate well, but I was nervous about him receiving it since he's never had it efficiently before. I commend Dr. Lee and his assistant for continuously assessing my child's mental status to see if he needed more or less during the procedure. To our surprise, he was very sensitive to the nitrous oxide and needed it turned off at one point, so he wouldn't get too much of it. It takes great skill and talent to multi-task doing that and assisting the dentist with finding the right size crowns along with everything else at the same time. I was seriously impressed by the quick and efficient process of this entire endeavor from start to finish. My child's treatment didn't take more than about 30 minutes because he cooperated so well once the numbing medications and laughing gas kicked in. But nonetheless, Dr. Lee and his assistant took great care of my child before, during and after the procedure. I want to add that they took the time to make sure you took a look at your child's mouth after the procedure was done to assure that no injuries were incurred from the procedure. Post-care instructions were reviewed in the back office and in the front office during check out. I really appreciated this so much! Very important! Big kudos to Dr. Lee's staff in getting us in and out on short notice (and for staying open for us!). But most of all, for giving us peace of mind before our trip. Had this not been treated in the way it was impeccably, we might have had an emergency to deal with during our trip. Thanks for saving us that ordeal Dr. Lee and staff! read more

Our previous pediatric dentist's practice has been known to reschedule with us and expected us to meet his schedule. Fortunately, this pediatric dentist is open on Saturday. Brought my one year old twins here for their very first dentist appointment and let me tell you from beginning to end it was such a great first experience for me and the twins! We checked in a half an hour early and they were so nice in accommodating us earlier than our appointment. I didn't have my insurance card on me but the lovely lady at the front desk looked it all up. It's a new office so it's super nice and clean. All the staff is super friendly, nothing but smiles. They took care of my boys when we went in the room for our appointment, the dental assistant made sure me and my boys felt ready and comfortable. Dr was quick and efficient, even gave us 2 flasks for my boys. Again amazing first experience and I'll definitely be back and will tell others about our great experience! Successful dental trip! We've been to quite a few dentist and haven't found a dentist that we matched with. We heard about Dr. Lee from another parent who raved about his workmanship and bedside manner. We took a leap of faith and made the call. The office manager Sasha reached out to us within the day and found an appointment time that worked with us. We were able to complete the online forms with ease prior to our appointment to make for a paper free start. The waiting area extremely clean and welcoming. There's a television to keep kids comfortable while they wait for their appointment and numerous chairs for families to sit. I spoke to Sasha about my sons' fear of the dentist and the hygienist we had was awesome. She spoke to him to walk him through the process while he got his teeth cleaned and not a cry or tear in sight. Dr. Lee was very professional and kind towards my son and addressed areas of concerns, overall it was a wonderful stress free time. Recently switched to a new pediatric dentistry for my son, and from the very start of inquiring about becoming a new patient, the staff reached out to me right away after filling out the online forms and got an appointment for the very next week. The location is just right - I thought I would be driving all the way in Ewa Beach, but it's less than five minutes away from the Kroc Center. Office is near the Ho'opili townhomes, and they have dedicated parking stalls so you don't have to worry about parking in someone's stall. Doctor Lee and his staff are so amazing! I hesitated leaving a review but after a while I realized this will help others in the same situation. I have never come into contact with a doctor (or therapist) of any field, that has treated my child the way Dr. Lee treated him. In their forms we are asked, what do you expect the most from your dentist? I entered: kindness and understanding - as my son has ADHD, and this I also mentioned in his medical conditions. When at his appointment, my son had to wait a while and started touching a lot of things, as expected. When Dr. Lee arrived, he seemed like he was in a rush to see my children, and soon he was clearly annoyed with his behaviors. My son asked a lot of questions. Dr. Lee needed him to lay back quietly, and when my son asked "why" a third time, Dr. Lee yelled out "BECAUSE I SAID SO!" And that was it for me. There were many other ways he could have handled this. I will never set foot back in this establishment. I do not believe Dr. Lee should ever work with children. He is not kind, nor is he understanding of children's possible disorders and disabilities. I am still in shock about this first encounter. We have since found another location to take our children. It's unfortunate because Dr. Lee has wonderful staff and a beautiful office. But if the dentist is this rude to his patients, he should not be in this field, working with children especially. read more
