We completed a year building wide drain, waste and vent project with HPG. The team on site (Andrew, Shannon, and Dano) are definitely worthy of mentioning. Our issues that we encountered during the project were quickly discussed and addressed for a permanent solution. Their scheduling coordinator and final walkthrough process that involved Mary and the leads were very thorough and items on punch lists were corrected with haste and accuracy. Every project encounters issues that arise (the unknown unknowns) and after hour emergencies, their team remained available and was here in less than an hour to aid our residents and even me with the common area when affected. Keeping the residents calm and reassured that their concerns will be heard and addressed correctly and timely is a huge part of capital improvements....this is where HPG assisted the office in a major way. This type of project is very intrusive and inconvenient, but they completed it with only minimal issues (can't keep everyone happy) while saving the association money at any turn they could. I would complete another project with this company again, particularly the team involved. The leadership of Petar and Charlie have kept our Board informed and have been very eager to keep every part they completed within warranty repairs and everyone happy. This is a valuable service..staying true to your promise to us. this is the worst co. If I could give negative stars their rating would be a -10. They enter your home without even knocking, they broke my screen door by banging and kicking it. When they first came in to my unit my shower was in perfect working order, they tore it apart, changed the pipes in the wall put up the sheet rock and left the shower in pieces and unusable. Now I have to pay to have someone finish their screw up. read more

They cut the wall again and The washer box is now placed a little bit higher but not aligned Hpg told me they had not replaced the water line but as you can see the attached photo, it is not my original line Regarding the gap between the wall and the floor, I guess the drywall they re installed was shorter than it should have been Update pictures attached we have done the final walk through. I would not do business with this company. I live in a building where they are replacing all the pipes; first encounter was about a month ago and they flooded my unit. Had to fight tooth and nail for them to pay for my hotel due to having to run loud fans 24/7 to dry out the moisture. They only paid for 2 of the 3 nights. Then this week, my kitchen had a huge puddle of water and come to find out the pipe had disconnected. All under the sink was soaking wet through the wood and caused the bottom to sink. They didnt bring the restoration team to check if it got in the walls or even to assess the situation. Instead they had a worker put a regular slow blowing fan and never came back. Due to my sons underlying health issues, I had to get a hotel again for a few nights. When I asked if they would be taking care of it, they rudely told me it wasn't their fault and that the pipe disconnected because they found a rubber band in the pipe... I am still amazed at how a rubber band can cause a pipe to totally disconnect itself. The latest is that they want nothing to do with me or my unit and are refusing to pay for THEIR DAMAGES. On top of all this, I am allowing them to use my parking stall to store their equipment and materials and the job is going to go on through October. I also heard they have a handful of unlicensed workers that work for them. Zero stars if it would allow it. I had a licensed plumber come to look at it also and he laughed when I told him they said it was from a rubberband. He went on to say they cheated the Ptrap and installation. Didnt use a thread sealant and the pipe they used was too short. There was no tubular extension put on the continuous waste. All the reviews I have been reading state to call them directly.. for what? They literally said they arent going to pay for anything and they are done and even took me off of the email correspondence.. very shady company. Will be taking this to action line too. Aloha Kimo, Sad to say that EVERYTHING in this review was 100% factual. Feel free to forward what you need; my resident manager, property manager and owner are all aware of everything that was said here. The only part that was left out was your employee telling me to call my renter's insurance because they are responsible for what happened... how is that even possible. My association at Likini West relied on Hawaii Plumbers Group (hereinafter known as HPG) for a complete overhaul of our plumbing for the building. HPG replaced the plumbing in my unit as well as my building. On multiple occasions, those hired by HPG (either directly or indirectly) were fired due to their shoddy work or their elementary school antics (e.g. standing on owner's furniture, not wearing protective foot coverings etc.) I have had multiple complaints with the work that HPG has done on my unit. First and foremost, my countertop back splash was damaged by HPG due to their tape job prior to opening my kitchen wall. I was only offered $50 to fix the problem and no more. I had to work an additional 5-6 hours on redoing my countertops to fix the problem they created. All the while, I was charged approximately $120 an hour to fix an unforeseen problem in my wall due to the previous owner(s). HPG would not budge on the damage to my countertop or the amount they charged for said unforeseen problems in my wall. They stated that my association approved the charge for all owners and it was not their problem. Secondly, my bathroom vanity was not returned to its original condition. Upon inspection of HPG's work, I found my vanity roughly 1/4 inch off of its original position of my bathroom wall. HPG tried to remedy their work by adding a thick layer of caulk. I informed HPG of situation and they "fixed" it with a layer of silicone. *shrugs*. If you, or your association is looking for a repiping of your building, go elsewhere. This company was contracted by my parents apartment building for maintenance work to replace the old pipes and were asked to comply with workers entering the unit Monday-Friday from 8-5pm for 2-3 weeks. Water would be shut off during those hours so my parents couldn't stay in the unit while the work was being done. Recently money was missing and we were also informed that another unit in the building reported the same incident a few days prior. We filed a police report as stated on the packet that this company provided for us in case something was missing. Come to find out, unless there's hard evidence, the police are not going to continue the investigation and if we decided to press charges, then the police would keep the case open but that's about it. I contacted HPG to get some answers and find out if they would be held liable and I was told that we would have to wait for the investigation to end and if they find the person who stole the money, they would remove him off the property. What is the point in filing a police report if the police aren't going to investigate and HPG will wait for the investigation to end??? Sounds like nobody wants to be held responsible and filing a police report is useless and this company probably knows that already. They also claimed that they have never had an incident on previous projects but there has now been 2 reported incidents in my parents building within a couple of days and HPG isn't responsible even though we did everything on their "to do" list and none of the workers are being supervised properly when these are strangers entering peoples homes with their belongings inside and the residents are asked to comply. Is my mother supposed to take all her valuables with her or rent a storage room and inconvenience her life even more than it already is because of this project?? We comply and then get screwed over because nobody wants to be held responsible? My mom had some cash in an envelop stored away in a purse in one of her dresser drawers that was not in a "work zone" and it's missing now. We are not rich and my parents live paycheck to paycheck so this is an unfortunate situation. I would have hoped that HPG would work in good faith and be held responsible for their employees but clearly they don't care. I spoke to a girl on the phone at HPG and I even asked her if she were in my position and this were her parents, would she be happy with the answer she gave me and she said "no." I think that basically says it all about this company. read more

Do you want to hire the loudest most inconsiderate plumbers on the island? Look no further! This group of plumbers will make excessive noise and then literally laugh when they get complaints. Will they set things down on the cement? No. Why do that when you can just drop EVERYTHING! Place rubbish in the dumpster? No. Just throw it piece by piece from 5 feet away. Speak at a normal volume? Oh surely not. Make sure the people on the 12th floor, of the building next to you, can hear you from the ground. And last but not least, take the product you have paid for and bang it on the equipment like a five year old just to make noise. HPG is my favorite plumber because they are prompt, professional and knowledgeable. My first experience with HPG was excellent, smooth and fast right from the first communication. I asked for an estimate via Yelp, heard back from Kimo right away, who asked the key questions about my condo and got me scheduled. I then heard from Hank, the plumber assigned, who again asked key questions and wanted pictures. It is great customer service that the individual plumber wanted to understand the job fully, even before he came to the property, and took the time and initiative to contact me. The day of the job, Hank and Jordan arrived early, were clean, professional and considerate and finished ahead of schedule. A day later, there was a leak in the same area and Kimo immediately responded and sent out Darryl, who did an excellent job diagnosing and fixing. On top of that, the leak was unrelated to the previous day's plumbing work, but HPG didn't charge me! The team is great at communicating - calling to let you know when they're coming, calling after the work is complete and the plumbers are so neat, clean and professional! When your AOAO selects the contractor for a full building re-pipe project, you don't have much choice as a resident but boy am I glad our AOAO chose Hawaii Plumbing Group. The team is amazing. From the on-site manager (Peter) to the crew (Nick, Johnny, Jonathon, Eric, Junior, Mikey, Gomer, and so many more) they are professional, respectful, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. They were constantly communicating and ahead of schedule. They were also able to correct plenty of other problems they encountered along the way. In our unit, they had to remove multiple walls as well as completely gut a guest bathroom to replace the aging and failing pipes behind the walls. It's a major project and (of course) a major inconvenience when you live and work in the unit. Despite all of that, they put everything back together so expertly that you can't tell that they were ever here. They're hard-core about cleanliness and protecting your belongings and family. We've been through major projects before but this was BY FAR THE BEST EXPERIENCE that we've ever had with a massive retrofit. Thank you HPG! Just my luck that a plumbing problem came up on a Friday before a holiday weekend! I contacted HPG Saturday night and within an hour Kimo scheduled me for a Monday time slot. Plumber Hank called 1st thing Monday morning to better understand the problem and to request photos. Hank asked all the right questions (and he used terms that I could understand) and he got back to me right away on the best path forward. HPG worked around my schedule to find the best date/time (and earliest!) to do the work. The crew helped us to unload the new toilets, they showed up at the house promptly, and they did a great job. They were very careful to observe COVID restrictions, social distancing and wearing masks the whole time. They consulted me on all critical repair/replace decisions. They communicated with me very clearly about the features that were important to me in selecting new fixtures, even repeating my words back to me to avoid mixups. They kept me in the loop on progress, and had a more than reasonable final invoice. They were very knowledgeable and good at fixing things. They even vacuumed up the area! Today marks the completion of work done in my apartment by HPG as part of the wastewater repiping project they are doing for our entire condominium. I was very apprehensive about the scope of the project and the kind of inconvenience it would mean for me as the owner of my unit. I had to remove everything from the countertops, cabinets under the sink and basins, and walls in those areas. But now, in hindsight, as I look at my HOME and what was done to it by the SUPER crew from HPG, I feel it was all worth the initial prep work I had to do before they began their job! All of the plumbing staff (Maurice, Zack, and Titus) were terrific! Not only were they efficient and skillful, they were courteous and fun! The carpenters (Sean H and Ferdinand) were very competent and did their jobs in a very timely manner. I was especially impressed with the work of Brenda who did all the painting! She always went the extra mile to make sure her work was the best possible! Mahalo, Brenda! And Jaymie, who always came by to clean up after them, did a super job too! I guess when you have professionals who take pride in their work and do their best for their client, it starts from the top. And that would be Aaron, who oversaw the project! Our tub was leaking water from the tub faucet, so I called HPG to have my entire valve replaced. I purchased a tub and shower faucet set from Home Depot, when HPG came and opened the sealed box we realized that the wrong valve was placed in the box. I didn't have a car so HPG offered to help me go to Home Depot to exchange it. After everything was done and HPG left, I realized that my tub faucet was still dripping so I called them again. Kimo was very helpful and sent his guys to come back to check on my pipes the very next morning. They checked all my valves, pipe, and cartridges. They found that there was a small stone that got stuck in my cartridge from the water system (rock entered when the water was turned one), and they fixed the problem immediately. Hawaii Plumbing Group did work in my building recently, replacing piping. Do not use this company if you are planning to do similar work. Your tenants and legal team will thank you. My building could not have chosen a worse contractor. In my own experience, they've stolen personal property, left a mess EVERY SINGLE DAY they've entered my unit, and they've failed to correct damages to my unit. If ever you work with HPG, do not expect any level of privacy to be honored. They look through your things and, unfortunately for me, steal my own property! Also, every day they enter my unit, I've had to clean up after them. I'm no clean freak - all it would take is a literal minute of vacuuming or wiping down the unit, but even that is apparently too much for these guys. They just do not care. Simple as that. When it came to corrective work, they'd do the easy things, and ignore any other items. Even when there was clear proof that they caused damage, they did nothing if they couldn't correct it in a few minutes. For us, it was much less of a headache to let things go just to get them out of our unit. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Thank me later. read more

Follow-up to my last review: Rick and his assistant did a phenomenal job repiping my entire 3/2 SFH. Project required all galvanized water piping and cast iron sewer piping to be removed and replaced with new materials. As an added bonus, the home's water and sewer systems were returned to full operation at the end of each work day thereby eliminating the need for my wife and I to find alternative housing during the project. If you are considering repiping your home, then I most strongly recommend you contact HPG for a consultation and quote. This company did work on the Apartment building my husband and I were living in, in Hawaii, and it was one of the most miserable experiences we have ever had. They made our life a living hell for three weeks. We had one usable bathroom at all times, which was okay, but every day we would have to come home from long days at work, to clean up their mess. I would have to vacuum and wipe up mud/dirt from our bathrooms, and put the shower curtain back up every single day. We also had to walk on dirty plastic wrap and nasty cardboard for a month, which they didn't even remove before a weekend. It was so unprofessional, we just couldn't believe it. But the worst part of it was, we left a review on Yelp because of the experience, then the owner had the audacity to bribe us to take it down! I took it down because my husband being in the military, he wasn't home every night, and I felt it was safer to just take it down so they would stop bothering us and making a joke out of our experience. They also broke our bathroom mirror, which took a week to replace, and I had to actually ask them where the mirror was after they were done working. Then they told me the broke it... no one told us three weeks before when it actually happened. Just a badly managed company... I'm so glad we don't live on island anymore, so we don't ever have to put up with this plumbing company again. read more

My building is undergoing a major re-piping project... very invasive, but such is the nature of a job of this caliber. At the end of the day, I had a good personal experience with this company. Ample notice was repeatedly given and tasks pretty much stayed on schedule as outlined to the residents. Friendly, helpful workers and the project manager was always on hand to address issues and provide updates. They showed appreciation for my patience and cooperation and I in turn had no problem giving them my trust to enter my home. My experience with HPG has been through Peter. He is the project manager for the repiping work at my rental property, a 45 year-old high rise apartment. Initially I contacted Peter to file a complaint. Peter was patient and non-confrontational even though HPG was not at fault. Over the course of the project, he is responsive and professional. We communicated through phone, text and email. The company sent excellent communication in advance and provided advice and resolution on an electrical issue unrelated to the project.
