    Rented these beautiful boards !!
    Madison L.

HIGHLY recommend this place for anytime you're in the area. I'd give this place ten stars if I could. Just rented two boards for five days and Evan was very cool about it. Really good communication because they are just a call/text away. They come by and drop off the boards and some straps and you're good to go! After a few days they come back to pick the boards up again so you can surf whenever you want to. Super easy process. Thanks for a great time!

My friends and I had such a wonderful kayak & snorkel experience with Evan! We got to learn about Hawaiian history, the beautiful reef, and even the basics of how to free dive. Evan dove down to grab various things off the reef for us to touch and see, and got so many epic photos of us in the water. The underwater photos were a very cool added bonus, and something I've never gotten on a tour before. One of my friends had never kayaked or snorkeled before, and he did such a great job teaching her and making sure she felt safe. Then we finished the day with some food! The knowledge all the guides have of the area is incredible - highly recommend this experience! I also rented some paddleboards from them, and the free delivery was very convenient. They give you all you need to strap it to your car, and teach you how to do it!

Amazing Experience!!! Went on a kayak tour with our kids and the tour guides were so patient, kind, enthusiastic, and always kept safety in mind. They took us to a turtle cleaning station and even allowed our sons to hold some sea creatures! We can't wait to do it again. PS- bring food in your car you'll only Be provided a small snack and water.

Went with a large group(Backroads) and Evan, Andrew, Cesar, and Dom were our guides. They were professional and had a lot of great information. It was a bit choppy, so our two girls got help with a tow out to the reef. Once out on the reef, it was freeking amazing. I am not the strongest of a swimmer and got a bit winded(my 2nd time snorkeling). But Evan got me on a float and that helped a lot. The group and my family really enjoyed ourselves. I will say that our guides were great and I noticed a review about Andrew. Here is my thought about Andrew, he tended to be bit more focused. He was gruff in tone a couple of times, but I just think that was because he was dealing with a large group of people with different levels of experience and was looking out for our safety in the water. As I said before, this was an amazing day. They also took some great photos of everyone in the water(see photos below).

Evan and Andrew were a-maze-ing. They got me on a kayak/snorkeling trip next day, as a solo traveler (much appreciated), and it was fantastic! I drove up from Kona-Kailua, which is about 30 minutes away. This was a much nicer environment than the touristy stuff in Kona. Our group was a family (mom, dad and two preteen daughters) and me. Let's say...I'm weight challenged and no longer the athletic person I was. They were super accommodating -- don't hesitate to ask them for help (like steadying that kayak so you can get back in! LOL). I had kayak previously, but had never snorkeled -- they taught me how. Even though I was by myself, the guides made it fun for me. They were fun, friendly and kind, with a little education thrown in. We met on a beach, paddled out and snorkeled with sea turtles. Andrew took fantastic pictures with a GoPro and shared with us next day. These are the best pictures of my entire Hawaii trip and since I was by myself, it was much appreciated. Near the end of the trip, we stopped on a beach for a fresh pineapple and granola bar snack before heading back. Highly recommend this trip!! P.S. I also took a boat trip to swim and snorkel with dolphins from another company. Much more expensive and it didn't compare to this. July 2021

We had so much fun on our kayak and snorkel tour! Evan and Blip are great, and is super helpful for even us novice kayakers. The waves were rough when we were out so we snorkeled a bit closer, but we were still able to see a manta ray! Evan took pictures for us while we were snorkeling too. 10/10 recommend!

We chose the first option. Smaller size (6 people max), ecofriendly, and kid friendly. Anelakai crew is exactly that! Personable! Wealth of knowledge! Professional, yet fun! I believe it's the only company where you get to paddle out on a canoe to view the manta rays. Nothing to fear! It's a super easy paddle out and back! If my 9 & 10 y/o kids can do it, so can you! It's very ecofriendly. The exhaust from the neighboring boats was nauseating. It's too bad they haven't followed suit. The crew took care of the kids 100%. From helping them with snorkel masks, assisting getting in and out of the canoe (my 10 y/o freaked out a little and they calmed her down in an instant), and just teaching them (and all of us) all about manta rays! The viewing was amazing. I couldn't keep track of how many we saw, but we do recall seeing Big Bertha, Greyson, and Queenie. Yes! They have names! And the crew will identify them for you and how they got their names! Props to: Kono, & the younger guy (forgot his name) Thank you for the wonderful tour! If we're ever back on the island, we'll pay another visit. The kids can't stop talking about Big Bertha and Queenie, all the backflips the manta rays take, seeing plankton up close, and paddling their first canoe IN THE DARK WITH A FULL MOON. You've inspired one of my kids who has a love for marine animals to one day work closely with them AND/OR if ever so lucky...to identify a new manta ray (if not in the database) and name it "6 - 7".

Our tour guides were awesome, well informed, and friendly. The only thing I'd warn is to take seasickness precautions - I'm prone to seasickness and did not consider how rough the waters could be, and it's definitely enough to feel unwell. Luckily, they bring ginger ale onto the boat which is greatly appreciated! The manta rays were amazing and we got lucky to see ~15 of them. We did have initial issues finding our meeting spot, so if you experience that, it was right at the dock. Overall, great experience!

The early morning kayaking through the bay is soothing for the soul. We also got lucky and saw some dolphins. Evan and Steve were both very attentive to all the kayakers and super knowledgeable as we learned a bunch about Hawaiian history, Captain Cook's arrival (and demise), and the lasting legacy of that episode on Hawaii's history. After all the snorkeling, the sandwich lunch hit the spot. It also came with a souvenir water bottle! I had a last minute dietary request and they graciously accommodated. Even though this was our second time, we still had fun and actually learned new details about the history and conservation efforts happening in the area! The guides took the tour out to the Captain Cook Monument, where the snorkeling was cool. The water was clear, the marine life plenty, and it ended up being one of the best snorkeling spots I've experienced. One tip: be sure to rent the flippers when you sign up. They made a huge difference and helped a lot in the water. They are not provided from the all in tour price. For the tour price you get the ride and snorkel mask with a floaty. They also rent life jackets if you need that. This tour is definitely geared toward people who are comfortable swimming and being on an open-air boat. If you're nervous in the water or can't swim or prefer a more relaxed boat ride, this isn't it. If you're looking for excitement, it's hard to beat. What really made the experience special were the crew members. Our captain and lifeguard were laid-back, friendly, and made everyone feel safe while keeping the atmosphere fun. The highlight for me was racing along the coastline at nearly 50 knots, bouncing across the waves and taking in incredible views of the island. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Think twice before booking with this company…read more I chose this excursion because it was shorter (2.5 hours) while still including snorkeling and a tour of the Captain Cook area. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. The first issue was the check-in process. The confirmation email tells guests where to meet but does not provide clear instructions on where to check in. Parking at this harbor is extremely limited, and Kona traffic can be very congested. Ironically, the company's own confirmation email emphasizes allowing a one-hour buffer before and after the tour and specifically advises guests not to schedule anything within an hour of the excursion. That warning exists for a reason. Despite everyone else arriving on time, our departure was delayed by nearly 30 minutes because the crew chose to wait for two guests who were stuck in traffic. As a result, every passenger who arrived as instructed lost approximately 30 minutes of a tour they had paid for while standing in the heat waiting. It felt unfair that those who planned accordingly were penalized because others did not. I expressed my irritation to the lifeguard assigned to our boat and was met with a dismissive response rather than an acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Once we finally departed, the captain welcomed everyone and said to let the crew know if we needed anything. During the safety briefing, I asked if my son could have some water. Instead of simply providing it or explaining when it would be available, I received a sarcastic response, and my son was not given any water. While the scenery and destination are beautiful, the customer service and handling of these situations left much to be desired. Better communication, adherence to the published schedule, and more respectful interactions with guests would have made for a much better experience.

She really made us understand how special it was to be out there witnessing these animals.
