Wandering around, trying to get a juice...
    Joey M.

"Well, listen, if you bring 'em by, maybe we could interest you in a game of pool.. Yeah, Frank here - he's got his own billiard room." - Cosmo Kramer, Seinfeld da Scene: Revisiting old haunts and took my daughter here to play some pool and tell stories from my old (and her recent) youth. It's a far cry from the original spot on Ke'eaumoku I used to go; right across from Like Like Drive-Inn... it was more like a old school "Color of Money" pool hall back then. There is ALOT going on in this spot now. Event space for concerts/club, 2 pool rooms, full bar, darts, and a hidden speakeasy (see review of Wild Orange). da Play: Came in early afternoon/evening and was already busy, tables were a little worn, but true and spaced nicely, there were mostly regulation-size tables and a few smaller bar-size ones by the darts. Good cues were a little sparce and for some reason a lot of "keiki-sized" ones... then I realized why when some kiddos walked by. I think it's great that you can bring your kids, now I get why the "21 band" gets issued at security. There was a lecture/event w/ Hawaiian music in the event space when we got there, turned into a club with music thumping through the walls later on. Played almost two hours, with three rounds of drinks, very reasonable. da Service: Park, check in, parking validated, hit the bar, drop your name for a table and wait for the pager to vibrate while sipping on cold drinks... Bartenders were nice as was the very diverse crowd. 20 somethings groups chatting it up, date night couples, bros drinking more than playing, families w/ kids, and a few semi-serious guys "in session". GREAT PEOPLE WATCHING. Security is visible and on top of things; couple of times a rowdy group got rambunctious and got a firm talking to... you don't wanna get a scolding by any of the bulls in yellow security shirts!!

My favorite spot on the island hands down. I love their events. Especially the Cozy R&B parties. My last two events were the Rodeo and Chocolate City Party. It is located on 2nd floor in the garage. The garage gets packed quick. I highly recommend to uber. There is street parking available but you might have to do some long walking.

Wow. Most of the negative reviews are due to a rude bartender. We didn't have issues with the bartender though and really liked this billiard hall. It's pretty spacious with many large and bar-sized pool tables as well as darts. The tables, balls and cues were in pretty good condition too. Drinks and games are reasonably priced as well. Chill, local vibes.

They double charged me and still haven't given a refund

Hawaiian Brian's ensured me that I would get a refund a couple days later after they double charged me of my bar tab. I still haven't received it. To those that will go here to drink, bring cash, because their register may crash on you when you pay with your card.

Apparently 19 is a pretty good table number

It's taken me a while to review this place because I saw other reviews and I just want to start this review setting expectations. There's not many places in Hawaii for pool and darts on the cheap. I started coming here as an 18 year old who didn't wanna go back to her dorm but also didn't have money so $1 pool and darts at HB's it is! People complain about the ambiance of this place, but in all honesty, I never had an issue with it; it adds character of who/what Hawaiian Brian's is. Okay, the Crossroads venue could use some air circulation, but in Hawaii, venues like Crossroads are hard to find that are cheap and convenient. Would I come to an event here? Not really, just because I feel like the prices aren't worth it nowadays. I feel like HBs has 9/10 given just what I was looking for: a chill place to play a couple games to end off the night. Although, I do have to take off a star because pool is no long $1 anymore, I think it's per person, per hour now. But other than that, you can't expect a lot from this place, but that's a good thing. I feel like we all need someplace reliable like this and I'm glad Hawaiian Brian's has always been there to deliver.

A funky entrance location inside a parking lot next to 24 hour fitness held a surprising good venue for music. We were very pleasantly surprised indeed! Came for a jazz saxophone show for Nelson Rangell in their Crossroads space and totally impressed by the sound quality, lighting, seating, crowd and organization of check in. Would definitely come back.

We got to Waikiki around 7 pm both of the suggested valet parking options on the website were only accepting hotel guests. We decided to park across from the International Market. You have to purchase $25 at one of the businesses, and that business will validate. The first hour is "free", the second hour is $3, and the third hour is $3. We went to Target after the show, purchased more of the items I wanted, and had them validated. Food and drinks: extra $20 minimum per person The food was okay. Nothing stood out to me. We ordered too much and had to bring a lot back home. We ordered: Smoked Ahi Dip ($22)- It came with chips. Citrus Farm Green ($18) Salad Yuzu Lemon Vinaigrette, Shallots, Goat Cheese, Satsuma Orange . I added shrimp (+18). I wouldn't get this again. I ordered the I Got Ube ($18) drink, and I enjoyed it. It wasn't too sweet. . One of my son's got the Blue Note Sundae ($16) it's Lappert's Vanilla Mac Nut Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Whipped Cream, Crush Macadamia Nut, Maraschino Cherry. Tiramisu ($16) My kids each got a drink two cokes and a pineapple juice which cost $5 each. Service: Great! She checked on us often. The staff did great working together to drop off food and take plates away. Seating: There is premium seating or Loge and Bar seating. We purchased premium seating. It's first come first served when it comes to seating. Originally I was aiming to seat in the middle of the booth on the floor. Due to coming later then I thought we got a booth at the end. If you seat in the premium seating in the booth you will have people walking in front of you on the floor. To me the premium seating right above the booths in the middle is really good seating because it's in the center and a step above. If you don't want people walking in front of you get the table seatings on the floor. It was hot in the venue that night and luckily I brought my portable fan. Even Jon Yamasato the singer of Pure Heart even mentioned how hot it was during the show. Video/photography: I read in other reviews they were not able to video or take pictures. I think it depends on the artist. We were able to video and take pictures. Overall, we would come here to watch another show. The service was good. I liked the ambience. The food was okay and next we will eat from somewhere else and get a dessert and drinks from here. Remember to bring a portable fan just in case.

The venue immediately reminded me a little of the Hollywood Bowl, but on a much smaller and somehow even more charming scale. With Diamond Head rising in the background, the views are absolutely spectacular and give the whole experience a distinctly Hawaiian sense of place. I was also impressed by how good the acoustics were, especially in an outdoor venue. It's very easy to access from the main Waikiki hotel area, which makes getting there surprisingly convenient. Between the music, the atmosphere, and the scenery, it ended up being one of those memorable Honolulu evenings that really sticks with you.

Honestly the last time that I've been back to the Waikiki Shell is my graduation o_O woah....though I could be wrong but sadly I don't get out very much but thanks to Nadine who asked if I was interested in a concert which I really was made me so happy to return and experience it all under the stars. Parking is always an issue but luckily we got there early...early enough to find one right away as it fills up quickly which you'll have to park at the next lot which can be a distance that we didn't want. What I wasn't prepared for was the wait as the time to enter was delayed by 30 minutes I did wished that I knew you could bring your own water just as long it's in a plastic bottle though there was lots of food options there it was spread out so far I wished there was just a single place to order but I was already exhausted from waiting that all I wanted to do was find our seats. Nadine selected great seats right in the center and close enough that we're able to see the concert well, bathrooms are at the front gate and I noticed there was another one on the opposite side as well, it's nice to have an open air atmosphere gave it a nice relaxing vibe. Thank you!

We waited in the lobby of the Castle & Cooke Building where our Escort checked our names off the list and led us to the 4th Floor. Along the way, the walls were filled with portraits of previous performers such as Jim Brickman and Na Leo Pilimehana. Impressive! After walking around to what seemed to be the back of the building, we entered a large living room full of sofas, ottomans, barstools and tables. We were warmly greeted and invited to partake in refreshments of shrimp platter, croissant sandwiches, fresh fruit, pasta salad and bottled water. The Emcee, Kevin Jones of Star 101.9, kept things lively by introducing the band members, asking engaging questions , and adding interesting trivia. He really helped make this event a more comfortable and intimate one. My friends and I sat in the first row where we could check out the jewelry and shoes (and bare feet) of the band. We enjoyed watching them communicate through gestures and eye contact and how they pressed the buttons of the amplifiers with their feet! I truly enjoyed watching Ka'imi's fingers glide over the frets of his guitar so effortlessly. ..He's a very talented songwriter even though he sang songs from the Doobie Brothers, Prince, and the Pixies, too.
