I came here for dessert because I heard their Mauna Mud Pie was good. I ordered that and asked if they did anything for birthdays. They said they didn't, but when they brought the mud pie to me, they put a candle in it and lit it up. So sweet of them. The mud pie was very good! Loved that this restaurant is at the International Market and is so accessible. The food on their menu sounds good. I would love to go back and try their entrees or appetizers.

My 'ohana of 7 walked into Moani's on a Saturday evening and were able to sit with no wait. Despite having a big music headliner at 10pm, it was quite calm around 6:45-7pm, and we felt the service was attentive but not overbearing. Our server, Ho'okele, did a great job recommending the appropriate number of dishes for our party, and helping us pick out pork chops, Chinese steamed fish, and shrimp for our mains perfectly. The prices are as you would expect for waikiki, and the serving sizes moderate for a family-style local restaurant. The beer prices for the pitchers were good, but the cocktails kind of mid--but as you would expect for a bar-venue of that sort. I've been to moanis for late night live music, which is full of locals and visitors alike, mostly of the younger crowd. Parking is easy and validated at international marketplace, which left our 3 hour trip costing only $2 to park.

We arrived during the last 20 minutes of happy hour. They kindly suggested we order a few different things off of that menu to start. We got the shrimp, chicken, pork belly,

This place has good food and good portions, although I wish there were more menu items. We got Pele's prawns, garlic chicken, and Kanaka kalbi. My personal favorite was the kalbi--they served big cuts of juicy and tender meat and the Ewa onions hit the spot. Pele's prawns were a close second; I liked the light crisp to them and the mix of sweet, savory, and spicy made for a delicious dish. Service was good and the ambience was serene.

Service by Trey was excellent! He was friendly , helpful and very customer oriented. We ordered all happy hour items. I think you can't go wrong with whatever you order. We were looking forward to listening to some live music but we were too early . Parking was easy at the international market place. 1st hour free then $2 for the 2nd and $2 for the 3rd hour oh and they even gave us a hand wipe after we ordered!!! That was perfect!!!!

The location is great, the live music was wonderful and the service was warm and friendly. However, the food was just OK. We ordered the calamari, pork baos, spicy garlic shrimp and the kalbi. Of all the dishes, the kalbi was good. I was pretty disappointed with everything else. The calamari itself was good, but I wish the dipping sauce was tastier. Combined, it was pretty bland. The bao buns were kinda dry. And if you are expecting the spicy garlic shrimp to be similar to the shrimp trucks, then you will be highly disappointed. It was more like a saucy gumbo, but hawaiian. And I think we only got like 3-4 shrimps. It was literally all sauce. They told us they were out of clams and that they'd give us more shrimp, but it didn't seem like it. We should have known before we walked in because the restaurant was pretty empty. This place definitely has potential if they could improve on the food. Or maybe we just ordered the wrong things.

We heard this place had a live band so came here, but the band goes on at 6:30pm and we missed them. Apparently, it turns into a club/lounge with a DJ at night. Shrimp appetizer was amazing! Wow, so delicious. Bao Burgers was a nice take on the Vietnamese banh baos. I like it. The Loco Moco - I've had better, it was more like a steak than Hamburger meat and the gravy was too runny for my liking.

Decent restaurant with unique tasting food, but questionable host attitude. We came here for a honeymoon for dinner and there weren't many other options open. We also wanted to visit the mall area where this restaurant sits. Right off the bat, we noticed the host was somewhat frustrated being there or didn't want to be there. Our waiter as pretty good. The food is pretty interesting as you can see from the pictures. We ended up taking about half back to the hotel. The drinks are ok, but seemed more watered down than anything. Overall, this place is ok, but somewhat on the expensive side. Highly recommend sharing an entree if you have someone that doesn't eat a lot.

Lovely restaurant. Another live singing on site. We ordered the Hunney Girl (malfy blood orange gin, yuzu and honey sour) and the Lilikoi Mule (absolut vodka, likikoi syrup, ginger beer and lime). We enjoyed both drinks. Great service. We didn't try any food though as we weren't hungry, maybe we'll try next time.

My cuz and I went out for a drink & pupus on St Patty's Day. However, all the places we hit up at first closed @ 9 pm. We decided to hit Moanis in IMP bc they closed @ 10:30 pm. I'm not sure what they serve for dinner, but I know Moanis serves a whole lot of aloha. From the live music, to the hand tossed poke, I felt like I was at home here. It helped that our bartender, Kama was super cool, and made our poke to order. The fried calamari was no slouch either. Its a big space inside with a large bar area. All the people we met at the bar were locals. Nonetheless, there were peeps from the mainland present bc I saw a b'ness associate's wife at HNL afterwards. She asked me if I was at Moanis and I confirmed. She said, "I told my husband that was you". "But he kept saying no, thats not Joe" - LOL. Come to Moanis for fun, good food and a whole lot of aloha. You might even run into someone you know! Hahahahaha

Alana and Vid, our amazing bartenders. And.. just us having a fabulous time!

Upon entry into this venue back in October 2025 for the Kolohe Kai concert I was very impressed overall with the organization and flow of foot traffic with all the vendors spread out, the bathrooms near the entrance and the food vendors all in the back by the lawn sitting area. The auditorium like venue was great in a sense that no matter where you sat (maybe save for the lawn location) you could get a good view. I hear others in the Neiborhood complain re the concert noise level but I am grateful to have this snippet of joyous Hawaiian life in our Hawai'i nei. The food has been better in the past but I am grateful that some sort of food offering is there and the local vendors are fun loving and make the best of "fast food". I remember the last night the Cazimero Brothers played at the Shell. Everyone just stood there in the front and didn't leave. We were all sort of transfixed and couldn't move along. After about 20 years of premium entertainers and Robert and RolandmCazimero performing on clouds on some of tahe most beautiful Hawaiian nights to groups of approximately 10,000, it was truly over... But, I think Robert did perform one night again in particular with his lovely white piano! Robert announced that he is an "activist. We were all mesmerized. I used to check with Tom Moffat if I saw infractions in the neighborhood after a show and he would always put extra police on a trouble spot etc. Now they are all gone... But we are still here not to abuse our privilege to attend a concert at the "Shell" which is not in Waikiki BTW. The end of Waikiki Special District is at the corner of Monsarrat Av and Kalaukaua Av. by the "Wall". The City completed an upgrade of the Shell with new comfortable seats, a slimmer and higher reconfigured "stage" area, etc. and the local security get the long line thru in a hurry! When you go for an evening at the Shell, pls. don't parade back and forth on the WALKWAY in back of the "pool" (front) area and fronting the second set of seats, ESPECIALLY during a live performance! Everyone didn't attend to watch you blurring everyone's view So, the next time you are lucky enough to attend the Shell at night with hopefully a moon, it's beautiful swaying palm trees, stars, and Diamond Head in the background please count your blessings as the "Shell" is one of them!

After walking around to what seemed to be the back of the building, we entered a large living room full of sofas, ottomans, barstools and tables. We were warmly greeted and invited to partake in refreshments of shrimp platter, croissant sandwiches, fresh fruit, pasta salad and bottled water. The Emcee, Kevin Jones of Star 101.9, kept things lively by introducing the band members, asking engaging questions , and adding interesting trivia. From the moment you pass through the doors, you're surrounded by a blend of old-world elegance and Hawaiian warmth. Built in 1922, the theatre has hosted everything from silent films and Broadway plays to concerts and Hula performances. Today it seats about 1,400 guests, offering an intimate experience where every seat feels close to the stage. The acoustics are excellent, the seats are comfortable, and the staff and volunteers are friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. There's also a small bar and lounge with high-tops, perfect for enjoying a drink and conversation before the show. Inside the theater, you see tall, fluted Corinthian-style columns that are richly detailed. The curved arch overhead is decorated with mosaic-style tiles in warm tones, and I absolutely LOVE the lush deep red velvet curtains that frame the stage. They add so much warmth and elegance. Having attended many shows throughout the years, I've always been mesmerized by the mural above the stage and decided to do some Googling while waiting for the show to begin. I learned it's Lionel Walden's Glorification of the Drama. The painting depicts a grand procession of mythic figures -- a golden-robed muse in her chariot, attendants, musicians, a lion handler -- all celebrating the power of theater. The central figure, often interpreted as the Personification of Drama, leads the way. Knowing that part of the mural was once lost to water damage and later painstakingly restored makes it even more meaningful. So the TWO of us ordered way too much! We tried to eat as much as we could and ended up taking the rest home! Everything we ordered was delicious, so we knew we were going to eat good leftovers! The restaurant was a great place to go with a group to eat and watch sports! Our Waitress (I have to remember to get names) was a track star, she was running to and from several tables of groups to deliver food! I will go again if they reopen!

If you're visiting Hawaii with a big group, 100% recommend taking them here…read more We initially were a party of 16, and showed up without a reservation at 6pm on a Saturday. The staff was super nice about it and was able to accommodate us, with only a small request that we be out by 8pm since there was another big party with a reservation coming in. Absolutely reasonable. They sat us right away at three large tables, which gave us plenty of space for food and didn't force us to sit super close together. Menus, waters, plates, napkins, and forks were all brought out immediately, and our waiter was quick to take our order. We started with the prix fixe menu for 8-10 guests and were going to add other items à la carte, but a handful of our group accidentally went to the other Side Street location (make sure your group is all on the same page), so what we ordered ended up being more than enough. We left stuffed and with 5 boxes of food still. Edamame was nice and steamy, and large enough to easily pop the beans out with your mouth. Wish there was a bit more salt though. The farmer's salad had everything going on from citrusy to salty to crispy. Avocado had a little bit of oxidation but the capers, dressing and potato curls provided plenty of reasons to overlook it. The fried rice came in a hefty portion, with sizable pieces of bacon and sausage. The chicken I didn't realize was boneless based on the shape of the deep fry, but it was nice to freely bite into it without worrying about hitting anything with my teeth. Probably a bit too much on fried bits but still good. Pork chops had a better meat to crisp ratio in my opinion, as well as juiciness. They even came with ketchup on the side, which I love as a pairing but don't see much of at restaurants. My favorite meat item was definitely the sizzling boneless kalbi. The presentation on the sizzling plate with a side of kimchi was spectacular, and the meat was full of flavor. We also ordered yakisoba, which wasn't part of the prix fixe. Tasted good but nothing past standard expectations. We let the waiter know we had a 30th birthday at the table, and they brought a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, and did a decent job getting the whole room to participate in the singing. It could also be the type of crowd this place attracts, since it seemed that everyone was so friendly and approachable. Thanks to the quick and consistent service, we were out in a little over an hour with no complaints.
