They cancelled a contract on a tub replacement with tile after stringing us along for 3 weeks. They cancelled the job one day before it was to be done since they did not want to do the tile work. If I could do less than a 1 star review for this company, I would. I've been waiting six months for a heater replacement for six months. They finally came out to replace it, and lied to me about what they were replacing. They only came out with a heater exchanger, but the whole unit needs replaced. Now, we are waiting even longer for a resolution.. The management continues to point fingers at the manufacturer and take zero ownership. Have used Hawkins twice now to replace both our AC systems. Each time I was informed and educated about the different product options that are available. Zero sales pressure, just good information. The techs that came out to install the units, the HVAC systems and thermostats where timely, communication was great and they thoroughly cleaned up after installation. Taught me how to use the mobile apps. One system has been working great for 7 months and the recent one running great for past week. I only wish I went w the newest version of the AC system when I did the first one 7 months ago. HSC sent one of their crack electricians, Nick, out to install a transfer switch for the generator I bought recently. His professionalism, communication and workmanship were all exemplary. Each home and job have their unique challenges, but Nick figured out the issues that needed to be addressed and completed the job to my satisfaction. While here, he also installed an A/C soft start kit that I highly recommend to all potential customers. As the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for"... and that's exactly what I feel I received. I had a service visit scheduled with this company between 3 and 5 PM. By 4:45, no one had arrived or called. So I called the company. Several minutes later, I received a call from the technician telling me it would be an hour and 40 minutes before he could arrive. Not good. I had an appointment and could not be home at that time. So, I cancelled the appointment and did not reschedule. I can understand that a technician can run late due to problems they encounter, but to leave me hanging with no heads up is unacceptable. As an aside, the two times I called the company, I am sure I was talking to an AI computer, not a human. Each time, I was given a different name for the "person," but they both used the same phrases in the same way. If they introduced themselves as "virtual assistants," I might have been ok with that. But AI bots posing as real people is unacceptable to me. It is deception, plain and simple. read more

Never mind the unnecessarily tedious scheduling services issue they have with their after hours provider, the fact that they only have 1 plumber available is a glaring red flag!!! I spent 17k last year on miscellaneous electrical and HVAC work, bought their Loyalty/Priority program $99/year, and still had to wait a 2 week plus, for the ONE plumber trained to replace a garbage disposal. How is a company this size, only have 1 person for such a simple replacement job?! I ended up going with Acree and saved myself $150. Plus, 24 hour turnaround time. We had an HVAC installed 10yrs ago but had so many problems. I received 9 quotes this time and wasn't comfortable with anyone. Only Brennan, with Hawkins Service, did several tests and showed me what he was using to gather his information for our needs for the right HVAC system and to correct all the issues the other company caused. He didn't act like a salesman, and used his knowledge to explain those needs for correction. I wasn't easy, constantly asking questions but he stood firm on his decision on what our needs were and accommodated us with other avenues we tried to take. He allowed me time to make that decision and kept in contact with me until the install was complete. Rey was the installer and I'm sorry but I forgot the other guys name but they both were very professional, on time, and had a great work ethic. They would answer all my questions/concerns, showed us what they did and explained, and showed us how to use the thermostat. My AC drain was clogged and water started pouring from the roof of the garage. A tech from Hawkins came out and said the pump and two float switches were bad and needed to be replaced, with a quote of about $1200. While he was checking, the pump restarted on its own, but he still said it should be replaced without really testing the system. Now the pump is working fine and there's no more leak. Does it seem fair to charge for replacing something that's working? read more

I highly recommend Kris and Sean for service techs. these gentlemen are professional, courteous, on time and communicate quite well. Contrarily to other contractors who could only do the water connection of the sink or the gas connection of the BBQ. Hawkins is certified to do both types of connection. After numerous calls without response, I called another company, and the issue was fixed within three days. I called Hawkins because it was the company that installed my water heater, and we had no hot water. It was not due to the hurricanes as we had hot water immediately after them. I feel that they did not adhere to their own advertised standard and the professionalism and service was extremely poor. After the hurricanes, one of my AC units stopped working. Will came out and troubleshot the issue and found I needed a new TXV. Got one on order and came back to replace it. Before he got started, he determined there was a leak in my coil (we could hear it hissing when charging the system with nitrogen), he promptly found the part in stock and returned with it the next day. Completing the coil and TXV replacement quickly and efficiently. Explained everything as needed along the way and was very courteous and kind for the few days he was here in all our interactions. Highly recommend HSC, and specifically Will, for any future HVAC needs. They also work on pool heat pumps as well, which not a lot of HVAC contractors do, even though the units are very similar in function. read more

Do yourself a favor and NEVER USE HAWKINS SERVICE. They are the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with. Our nightmare began 4 months ago with a purchase and install of a Generac generator. They initially promised the job would be 1-2 days. They never mentioned a city permit was needed. They installed part of the generator and tore up my yard. At that point they began the permit process and have no idea how to properly file them. 3 months later NOTHING has been done and No Generator. They have the same lame excuses and constant delays continue with no completion date in site. I will likely need an Attorney to rectify this mess. We purchased a new AC unit in August from Hawkins and I noticed it wasn't performing correctly so I called Hawkins for a service check. The receptionist was great and empathetic and would have scheduled a technician to come out that day but we had guests and a hurricane approaching so I asked for a technician to come out Monday. On Monday Jamil Perry arrived promptly and immediately found the problem - a leak in the copper piping causing the unit not to run correctly and the thermostat had not been calibrated correctly at installation. He fixed the issues and reviewed the thermostat settings and checked and educated me on the thermostat app settings. And a few hours later - loving our Daiken AC unit - working great! I love the reliability of Hawkins - we had previously purchased all new pool equipment from them - pump, heater, filter, salt converter and new electrical box and they had to run new wiring to that section of the house. The installation crew was phenomenal and most importantly they service the equipment. Relocating from the north - we had never owned a pool or had central AC, so their sales staff have been great in educating us in equipment selections and all the installers and service people are great. It's important for us to know that they will do the work properly and if we need service or repair that they are responsive and will take care of us. For those reasons we would highly recommend Hawkins and they are our "go-to" for our pool, AC, electrical and plumbing needs. read more
