So much la! This place is way off the beaten track and we would have never discovered it if it weren't for Harvest Hosts, a program for RV enthusiasts that allows folks to stay at wineries, breweries, distilleries, small farms, and for an additional premium at golf courses throughout the US for one night per location. Users pay a yearly fee to Harvest Hosts but don't pay any fee to park overnight at the participating businesses (although it is certainly understood that guests are expected to patronize the businesses at which they stay, reservations are required, and guests can only stay for one day). Our recent trip was our first time utilizing the service, and it's pretty awesome. This was certainly one of the more magical stops on our Harvest Host journey. Here's why: The location is absolutely gorgeous, on lushly green rolling hills where you can overlook their grapevines, a small pond, and their alpaca farm. A local band was playing old timey music in their enormous outdoor event space, and pizza was available for purchase at at an outdoor pizza oven adjacent the event area. Because they had the band playing, they weren't offering their regular wine tastings, which was a bummer since it was our first visit and we typically like to try a wide selection of wines, but the staffer at the wine area did let us sample a few things complimentarily so we could narrow down our choice. We wound up purchasing a couple bottles - one white and one red - and bright both to our table to enjoy while we watched the band play, enjoyed our pizza, played some board games, and hung out with our dogs at this pet- friendly spot. When they closed for the night, we went down to the barn area and watched the adorable alpacas for a while and then headed back to our camper, where we chatted for a while with the other RV folks staying there for the night. We also spotted some red headed woodpeckers, which are my favorites and which you seldom see. We've been remorseful that we didn't head back to the tasting room and purchase More of the wine to take home. They have a red blend that was extremely affordable and very very drinkable. The labels on the bottles are fairly playful, which we suspect is a marketing misstep. In our experience, folks who are willing to drink so-so wines don't care that much about labels but connoisseurs are typically put-off by amateurish labeling. While the whites here are mostly on the sweet side and not especially my cup of tea, that red really was a dazzler. We would have probably been much more likely to purchase a case and give bottles away as gifts if the bottle's labeling had been nearly as impressive as what was inside of it. This is one of the relatively few spots that offers electrical hookups for our RVers staying at their location, which wound up being a blessing on our visit because it was a especially hot day it happens who is nice to be able to turn off the AC

This place is a hidden gem. Wine for every taste and a minimal but decent selection of beer. Many choices of Flatbread, nachos and charcuterie trays. All things are decently priced ( we are from Chicago area.). Tracy the manager was wonderful ( and really excellent with the patrons) Although we didn't interact with the staff much, they were very attentive to us as we needed. We have an RV and they are members of Harvest Hosts so we were able to stay on their beautiful property ( with electric hook ups) Great fun. Relaxed atmosphere. Will be coming back.

The fruit wines were clearly the winner in our tasting today! We even bought a bottle of Peachy Keen which smells so good I immediately wanted ice cream to go with it! The cheese plate was a nice treat to go with the glasses of the ones we liked best which were Prachy Jeen, Happy Melons, Plum Crazy and Apple Strawberry. I would like to go back and try the ones we didn't taste, or even try the slushy

Came here recently with a friend who I was visiting in Monroe and had a lovely time! We did a wine tasting and overall they were all good. I'm not a huge fan of small winery wine as usually it's too sweet for me. I like a more dry red wine, but we had a lot of fun! We also ordered two different kinds of flat breads. Both were amazing and delicious. The service was amazing. The two women working were really fun and sweet. And the view! SO GLORIOUS! It's was just lovely and a fun time and break from the city. So peaceful. I'd love to visit again in the summer when they have outdoor music.

I love it here. This is my second visit and the wines are so delicious! Most of the wines are fruit-based, but not necessarily all sweet; there are some drier wines. There's also food/appetizers (flatbreads/nachos). The main building is beautiful, very spacious with a nice patio overlooking the vineyard. There is a new building that is able to open on all sides in nice weather. The buildings are clean, the staff is very friendly. We were here for a company party and there was ample space for a big party. The prices are also very reasonable. $4 for a tasting of 6 wines. And the bottles to bring home are approx $11.

We were there for bingo. Not enjoyable. Slow moving & could hardly hear the person calling out the #'s.

Great wine, and good food. Good pricing for good wine! Just wish there was more room to sit inside...

You can sit outside on the patio overlooking the vineyard or even sit in the vineyard. You order your wine selection in the gift shop that also offers small plates. They have many different wine varieties and Andy who worked there gave us a detailed description of each one. Unfortunately he was also a sale person wanting you to spend money which was a turnoff. We each elected to do a tasting of 3 different wines - all reds .Unfortunately the beautiful setting was better than any of the wines we tasted. We walked away disappointed as we really wanted to buy a bottle to support a local business but we just didn't care for any of the 6 we tried. If you are in the area and want to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape of Galena Territory, give them a try and maybe you will find a wine that you will like.

In fact the flavor was so offensive to my pallet that I didn't finish any of the three varieties recommended. I really enjoy dry wines and stayed clear of the sweet so maybe that was the issue. The sales pressure was a real turnoff. I felt it was overpriced as well. Go for the views and the lovely garden patio but for dry red wine lovers I would fergedaboudit!

We lined up at the tasting counter, and for ten bucks we sampled them all. Our sommelier was knowledgeable and personable. From the store we bought some pre-packaged charcuterie and snack, paid for a few bottles of their wine and headed to the patio. The sunny patio on the south side of the building is a nice scene. Plenty of tables and chairs, very comfortable. Pro tip? Seemed like the regulars brought their own snacks and food to the patio. A better choice than what's available in the store.

When driving up, none of the wine vines are visible as most are along the hillside that was covered by overgrown foliage. The main building has a residential log cabin feel that was turned into a main floor winery. When walking in, we were nicely greeted by a female staff member and an adorable pup! One orders food, tastings, or glasses at the counter and staff will bring it to you. We originally wanted to sit outside but quickly realized how buggy it was. We transitioned back inside just in time for our wines to be ready. The wine tasting came as (7) 1oz selections. The presentation was lack luster seeing they all came in a throw away plastic shot glass. They were kind to include a complimentary sample of their (2) slushie drinks of the day. Most of the wines had an odd bite or unique finishing note. Our favorite was the Tower Red Wine! The slushies weren't bad but they are made from a bag they also sell. Additionally, we ordered the Italian Dipping Oil. We saw them go to the back to make it fresh. It was the perfect sharing size but was definitely overpriced. Rocky Waters has so much potential but also has some room for growth to elevate the experience offered.

Very watery vinegar tasting wines. No body to them at all. Slushes were good. We pass in this one.read more
