Hawk's Nest is delicious! Located in Hamilton, MI! We ordered a Hawk's Smash ($11), Patty Smash ($10), with waffle fries ($4.50). After tip, it came out to $34. It was the perfect amount for two, but I struggled to finish the Hawk's Smash at the end. Crunchy waffle fries. Great food. They also have an icecream shop that's a part of the restaurant. Hawk's Nest is a little bit ice cream shop and a little bit diner, but it's a LOT amazing. This is one of my go-to spots when I'm anywhere close. Friday night AYCE fish is outstanding as are their broasted pork chops. In the neighborhood for lunch? Try any of the sandwiches.. and make sure you get the waffle fries. Every single person that works here is outstanding. I've never had a bad meal or bad service here, even when the place is packed. The dining area is really cute and the walls are lined with photos of Hamilton from years gone by. I've not been here for breakfast yet - they are slowly introducing it back after eliminating it during Covid - but it's on my bucket list to try soon. read more

Place is kinda over rated, but has a big menu with some good things on it. The only complaint I have about the place is that one of the owners who helps out quite a bit is constantly humming and sometimes sings. I said something to out waitress about it and she said a lot of people complain about it to the staff and said "trust me, it got annoying to me quicker than it did to you. read more

I only had their ice cream. Didn't get to enjoy their food. I had the coconut almond chip. It was delicious. It had chunks of coconut. It was just what I wanted and expected. The ice cream was creamy. They have Inside and outside seating a ordering. It easier just to order their ice cream at their outside window. The staff was friendly and fast. We stopped in for a late lunch. Comfy atmosphere. The historical photos are so cool. Extensive menu. Something for everyone, it was hard to decide. I had the roast beef entree with a cup of lasagna soup (!) and wild rice. The slab of beef comes in its' own little dish with some au jus - fork tender, delicious and served with bread to sop up the juice. Beefy goodness! My companions both had the french dip. It sure looked good and they were both happy with that choice. Every single staff member I encountered smiled and said, "hello". Our server was wonderful. Attentive but not intrusive. Stopped here for breakfast. Lots of competition in the area for food so we settled on this place rather than the fine cuisine served at the two gas stations located nearby. Seems a popular gathering place for the local farmers. The hashbrown omelet I had was very good. The bagel seemed to be just a store-bought version and I didn't even finish it. My wife had sourdough toast and it too was mediocre. If you're hungry and don't care to drive the extra 15 minutes to Holland or Allegan, you'll get a meal here but it is just subsistence. Mozzarella stick-no marinara sauce, even when confirmed over the phone! Never recieved the spud with no scallions-even when verified over the phone with a young lady! I stopped here for an ice cream cone a few weeks ago and I ordered a medium mint chocolate chip in a cup and it was ridiculously small. It was about the size of a Creme brûlée glass container. Surprisingly large gluten free menu for being a small town diner-ish set up! Any of their burgers or pizza can be made with gluten free ingredients, although will not be prepared in a gluten free environment. Staff is always friendly, the fried chicken is great (although not gluten free) and they have great ice cream in the summer. It's a handy place to have in town! read more

We're new to the area and stopped in here for breakfast on a Saturday morning...we were not disappointed! Staff is very friendly and the food is so delicious!! Even our young (aka picky) niece and nephew enjoyed the food...which speaks volumes! This is our new "go to" for our weekend breakfast out! Best Broasted chicken I've ever had. Also the ice cream cupcakes are great. Love the take out option of having a drive thru window which is great for ordering ahead and not having to get out of the car. Prices are also good to feed the whole family on a budget. read more

I'd tried this restaurant years ago when I lived in Hamilton. I don't remember the specifics of that visit, but I remember it made me feel like I'd wished I'd gone to the Trestle Stop instead. Well, today after a long day of fishing I decided to try this place again. I had an oven toasted sub sandwich and one of their loaded potatoes. Both were pretty good, but nothing great and I felt like I'd kind of wasted my money. The worst part though was the very lackadaisical attitude of the young lady who took my carry out order. I got the impression that maybe she thought I was interrupting and keeping her from something important although there was nobody else in the restaurant when I went in. This place always seems to have a steady stream of locals coming and going (probably mostly because of the ice cream shop that also shares space with the restaurant) and they'd probably disagree with my review, but next time I get the urge to eat in Hamilton I'll go to the Trestle Stop where I get consistently good food and service. read more

Dark and dingy inside. I will go to Trestle Stop over Hawks Nest every time. HN is a bit cheaper, but I will pay a couple bucks more for the better atmosphere and more food selections. read more
