A very good restaurant whether you get steak, fish, or even a sandwich. All the servers are friendly and it looks like they enjoy their job. The ambiance is a laid back atmosphere. Their prices are reasonable.

Since we moved to this side of the state two months ago we are sampling food from various restaurants. Friday is fish fry day. So we tried the perch dinner yesterday. And yes - it was good. The perch was fried just right. The fries were hot and the coleslaw was good. Definitely worth coming back to. Good food and fast friendly service.

The best way to describe this place is a Lodge. You very much get the feeling of being in a lodge/cabin. All in all though a very warm feeling. I ordered the Ribs ($15), with it I ordered a dinner salad and BBQ Smokehouse Fries. The ribs were very good and tender, with a nice bbq sauce. The dinner salad was one of the best I've had in a while. The BBQ fries were very good, especially when hot. There was also a small loaf of quick bread, that was fresh and hot. I prefer yeasty bread, but this was good. The person I was with ordered the Whitefish ($14), with a dinner salad and fries. It was stated to be excellent and a good portion. Sides were also excellent. The service was very professional, quick, and friendly. Overall an easy 5 star review! Would I return? Absolutely! I loved the atmosphere and the food. Also bonus points for a very nice bathroom.

#4 Three eggs and American fries with onions, 4 slices of bacon, 2 pancakes.

Great selection at a good price. Nice patio. Somewhat short staffed like most restaurants these days.

Further reading into the history of place, I found that this place has been around since the 1940s. A cool history and the curiosity for the long lines brought us to be one of those people standing in line one morning. First of all, I am slightly terrified of diners thinking the service would be bad but from the moment we were greeted to when we left the place, the atmosphere has been very welcoming and friendly. Our waitress sat us at a small booth close to the kitchen. I ordered coffee and their bird nest thinking... it should be fine, it's a bird nest, not a full blow whatever other huge breakfast plates they have! I was wrong. My husband ordered their famous hashbrown omelette that I felt could have fed an entire village! My bird nest came. My eyes got really big because honestly, it was the size of an eagles' nest. I apologized profusely for not finishing and since it was our last full day before moving on from Holland, I couldn't take the leftovers home. My husband felt the same way but he at least ate half of his food. To me, I think my food needed a bit more flavor but they have salt and pepper on the table. We noted that there seemed to be a lot of regulars or repeat customers. No doubt, this place is a very nostalgic place for a lot of people who have moved away or have visited here previously. To be honest, even though it was only our first visit, the people made us feel at home.

Overall an easy 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely, I will definitely be back.
