The two nines you play can change depending on how the pro shop has scheduled tee times for the day. I've played Bradshaw several times over the years and have usually wound up playing the Red and Blue nines. From the blue tees, the Red measures 3,128 yards, the White 3,286 yards, and Blue 3,153 yards, so it's not a terribly long course. It's moderately difficult and I think somewhat beginner-friendly for a standard full-length course. There are a lot of hills and elevation changes, some of which are quite steep. The first tee on the Red nine has quite the drop which makes that drive a lot of fun. The most memorable hole to me is the 9th on Red. It's a long par 4 which goes downhill then back up to a steeply elevated green. The view is cool because overlooking the green way above is the clubhouse and golf cart storage building. At the time of writing this review, Bradshaw's public rates are $42, Monday through Thursday, $55 on Friday, and $65 on weekends and holidays. You can find good deals online through various websites like GolfNow and TeeOff.com. For example, I was able to book a Friday round here for $45 using TeeOff.com, a $10 savings off the regular rate. These websites also offer various discounts and promos throughout the year so you can save even more money on the already discounted tee times. It should be noted, however, that the tee times available on these websites can sometimes be more limited than what you can get by directly calling the pro shop. Overall, the condition of the course is decent. The greens are the best part. They are Champion Dwarf Bermudagrass (installed in 2012-13), the same grass that is now used at the club I grew up playing at (High Point Country Club - Willow Creek, also installed around the same time). The last time I played here, the greens were in great shape. They rolled true. The fairways were OK and the rough was cut short. The brown-red sand in the bunkers had more of a hard, dense, clay-like consistency as opposed to the drier, white, "fluffy" sand. Not bad though. I was still able to hit out of them with my usual sand shot. There's a big driving range and one practice putting green and short game area. Like some of the tee shots here, the driving range is located on what feels like a cliff, so you are hitting shots down into a valley. It's mats only at the range and range balls (not included) are dispensed from a machine outside the pro shop. When you purchase range balls, you'll be given a code to enter into the machine. A small bucket costs about $4-5. I'm not a fan of the golf carts here. They're old. Several have worn out tires and the carts' turning and handling is not good. These carts are definitely showing their wear and age. Also, no GPS and towels are not provided. Neither are tees, ball markers, repair tools, etc, but to be expected at the rates they charge. What Bradshaw does have, which I love and think every golf course should have, is one of those compressed air guns. They're great for blowing grass, dirt, sand, and other stuff out of your shoes, socks, skin, etc. Also, the restrooms out on the course are satisfactory. The clubhouse itself looks like a giant red barn. Very distinctive. The clubhouse has a nice view of the first hole on Red. The pro shop is small and basic. The restaurant and bar is also no-frills. The grill offers food like breakfast sandwiches, Danishes, muffins, hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and fries each under $6. The bar serves liquor. The staff I've encountered have been friendly, polite, and helpful. That goes for the guys in the pro shop to the cart girls. Marshals? Not sure I've ever seen one or had one say anything to me. In the end, Bradshaw Farm gets 3 Yelp "A-OK" stars out of me.

I drove by a few mansions after the security gate. Its a pretty nice neightborhood. The folks at the club are nice. From the bag boy, to the event director. Everyone was profesional and courteous. The condition of the course is very good. If you hit it into the fairway, you are assured of a very nice second shot. Grass is carpet-like. Super dense and firmish. Tee box in good condition. Fairway with good drainage. Bunkers are fluffy and DEEEP. They have these British Open pot bunkers that are 6 feet deep. Stay clear of these. Greens are awesome. Tricky, but good shape. Very scenic, lots of water , foliage, sand, bunker, island green, elevation. My only gripe is the distance marker. I don;t think I saw any. But I had my trusty range finder. The course is flat but long and most of the holes are very wide and forgiving. This is not a hard golf course but it is fun for the casual hacker. The tees change from first 9 to second to switch it up they do what they can with a 9 hole course and it is appreciated. There is no bar or restaurant so if you do come on a Monday or however you get in bring your own swing oil.

It would be an injustice, otherwise. It took me over 16 years to make it back out here. I'd completely forgotten everything about this course, so revisiting it was like playing a new course again. I think I first played this course circa 2001-02. However, unlike my previous round here in 2005, which I had recorded for handicap purposes at the time, I have no evidence of that first round. Hampton Golf Village opened in 2000. Off the top of my head, I can't think of many public or semi-private 18-hole courses in metro Atlanta that opened in the 2000s or later. Echelon and The Frog, two of my favorites (especially The Frog), come to mind. For most metro Atlantans, unless you live in/around Alpharetta and north, Hampton Golf Village in Cumming is a hike. From my home in Midtown, in light traffic, this course was a solid 50-minute drive each way. Is the drive worth it? Sure, every once in a while, I wouldn't mind playing this course. However, in the same price tier, there are plenty of other courses I'd rather play that are within a 50-minute drive of my home. Unlike Country Land, though, Hampton Golf Village is "worthy" of being put in my golf rotation. We were charged $64 per person for our weekend morning tee time. I also paid $4.67 for a small bucket of range balls. After 7% tax, the total was $73.48 for a round and range balls. For the quality of course, service, clubhouse, and amenities, I thought this was "par for the course" and reasonable. Medium and large buckets of range balls were available too. For the range, you could either pay in the clubhouse where they give you a pin number or swipe your card at the range ball dispenser. During my visit, the range was mats only. The range balls were a grab bag of range ball brands. In general, the balls were pretty worn out and are probably due for replacement soon (if it hasn't happened already). There was a large practice putting green (good size) and a separate chipping green. There is not a practice bunker. If you're booking a tee time here, I would call the golf shop to book. If you book online via Hampton Golf Village's website, you'll have to pay a nonrefundable fee. When I looked, the nonrefundable fee was $2.49 per golfer. So yeah, definitely call to book and that way, you won't be charged any booking or convenience fee. Scott took my reservation over the phone and he was nice. Shaun checked us in. Good service from those guys. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the food and beverage cart girl. Out of the hundreds of rounds I've played in my lifetime, I can't say I've ever encountered a cart girl like the one I last had here. She had a bad attitude and didn't seem to be interested in her job. Maybe she was having a bad day and/or getting turned down by group after group. Some times she drove by, literally paid no attention to us, and kept on trucking. After the first time that happened, we didn't want to buy anything from her for the rest of the round. I realize this was probably a one-off experience, but I had to mention it. The clubhouse has a spacious dining room as well as an upper level patio that overlooks part of the 18th hole, the pond ("Reservoir 59") in the distance, practice green, and driving range. The golf shop is small, but gets the job done. The men's restroom - and clubhouse, in general - have a "nicer" feel to it, but this is by no means a fancy country club or anything like that. I don't think there are any locker rooms. I think the cart barn is underneath the clubhouse. During our visit, the cart fleet consisted of basic Yamaha EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) carts. They did have simple GPS old-school LCD screens attached to the steering columns. They provided accurate front, middle, and back yardage distances to greens, so that was definitely a plus. As for the course itself, I thought the layout/design and fun factor were decent. This is a very hilly course with lots of bridges, some neighborhood snaking (but not much), and zero water hazards. The lack of water contributes to this not being the most scenic course, but there are a few nice mountain/hill views and the tree-lined Hampton Park Drive, that runs parallel to hole 11, is beautiful too. The par is 71 with yardage and rating/slope 6,903 yards and 72.8/137 from the tips. We played from the whites: 6,051 yards, 67.9/128. The conditions were fair for a daily fee course in this price tier. There were lots of ball marks on the greens, which was disappointing. Some of the tee boxes were pretty beat up, but the fairways and bunkers were in good shape, overall. There were no sand bottles on the carts, but there were sand buckets with shovels on the par-3 tee boxes (which probably most golfers here do not use; I did). On a busy Sunday with a stacked tee sheet, our pace of play was brisk at 4 hours 20 minutes.

The only reason I didn't rate the condition with 5 stars was because the greens had been recently sanded a little - not enough to cause a major problem of any kind though. I found the tee shots to be very reasonable, even of a shaky driver like myself, but there are certainly enough challenges to demand respect. The staff made it clear that we were behind schedule by stopping us and talking to us on the second hole which slowed our game down. Seems like they book people close together and it doesn't get people enough time to move between the holes. We had four people and mixed gender so it takes time going to the different spot. There's also a charity sales pitch I'm one of the later holes which even delayed us more. We end up having someone ahead of us we had to wait for us so just felt like we have a question and we will have to wait between the other people so I really feel like they need to spread them out more. Also someone hit that ball close to us and then did not give a warning so it doesn't seem like a good community of golfers here. We had one of the husband's wife joined with the kids and they charged us extra for riders. Grounds are not well maintained so it make putting difficult. It is a very pretty course with the hills but I think the lack of space between and the overall quality of the greens makes it not ideal.
