High pressure sales and total waste of money. No noticeable difference in pests they were supposedly eliminating. On their initial visit I was asked if we were having any issues and I told them the flies had been really bad. They said they didn't treat those and recommended a product from Amazon. On a subsequent visit I shared we were having issues with moles in the yard. As you might guess by now, they don't treat those either, but I was told I could go to Lowes and purchase something for them. Apparently they don't help with mice either because we buy traps to catch those too. So on top of all I've spent out of pocket from Amazon and other retailers to actually eliminate our pests, I have also spent nearly $500 with these folks and I am stuck in a contract with these guys for another year unless I want to give these people another $500 for nothing. In short, just go buy what you need from Amazon, Lowes, or Walmart because that's what they are going to tell you to do anyway while still padding their pockets for their "services". read more

I could not cancel online, so I removed the credit card to avoid paying the 13th month. I sent a timely email cancelling, but their policy is that I have to call them to cancel. So I called - they would not take "NO" for an answer... They tried to upsell me at a discounted rate, they wanted to keep me on the phone until I agreed to pay the 13th month (August) for a service visit scheduled in October! I have spoken to 6 people at Hawx, and it's all the same strategy. I have lost my patience. They are harassing me now for $49.99 for services that were never rendered. read more

Do not use this company! They sprayed my house twice. The first time the guys equipment didn't work. Then I had to call them back for a respray, the tech told me he sprayed my flower beds. 2 days later my flowers were dead. I called the company, they sent someone out that had horrible customer service. He told me this has never happened before and basically he doesn't believe their spray is the cause. I never heard from anyone. I called back because I have spiders and bugs everywhere but dead flowers. The same guy came out with the same attitude. When I followed up they said "You can cancel without a fee". So I get to cancel their service without a fee. Their product doesn't kill/prevent bugs but kills flowers. read more

I have had hawx for a little more over a year. This past month they increased their prices without notifying me. They said they sent an email, but they did not. I would have canceled the moment I received it. The price increased from 89 dollars to 150 dollars. They changed the plan to a monthly payment system which I did not agree too. SO they basically charged me without providing any service. So I called them to cancel the service and they told me I still had to pay the 44 dollars so basically nothing. I do not recommend this company, because they will jack up your prices without any warning. Also you can get the same service cheaper with different companies. The product they use may not be the best either, I have had to call them for re-services multiple times. read more

I've been using this service for 2 years and they were great until recently. I don't know what happened but now I can't get them to show for an appointment. I scheduled one online and they didn't show. I called to reschedule (they said they could see I had an appointment but didn't see why no one came) and had to wait 2 weeks for the next appointment. When they missed their window again, I called and was told they were running late but I would be next. Near the end of the day they still hadn't shown up, so I called again and was told the notes said they showed up but my gate was locked and they couldn't reach me. That was a lie because we left our gate open all day, we don't have locks on our gates, our Ring cameras didn't show anyone arriving, and they also didn't ring the doorbell. The representative told me he rescheduled me for a third time for Monday, and when they didn't show, I called again to find out it was another week out. I've been waiting all month to get a wasp problem taken care of so we can complete a house project. It started with the sales person. He was a great salesman but as time went on every thing he said was a lie to get you to sign up. He told me I had services that I didn't even have. I signed up with a friend at the same time and we ended up with different services for different prices. When you call to talk to customer services everyone says something different about what happened. When the service men come out to treat your house with the products it takes them about 10 at most and when you check afterwards you still see spiderwebs and bugs still are out. Now they say you can call them back to return but it hard to get an appointment that works for you and that they don't change. I explained before I signed up if I would be able to get appointments that worked with my schedule and I was told yes. I've tried to get Saturday for my services and they changed to a Monday without even contacting me. This has been a hassle for a whole year. I'm relieved it's finally over. Do you know you cannot speak to a local rep-all calls go to call center. I know because on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 a door-to-door guy refused to stop talking and leavened ONLY LEFT WHEN I TRHEATENED TO CALL THE POLICE. I call their numbers and get a call center. have not used Hawx Pest control but I definitely will not in the future thanks to salesman Ethan today. Ethan came to a Knightdale neighborhood and decided to come door to door without a mask. We also have a LARGE sign directly beside the doorbell that says please NO sales. Ethan ignored the sign and then had the audacity to say well we aren't that expensive. This issue has obviously not been taken seriously or reviewed with staff due to the numerous complaints listed on the review page. PLEASE tell your staff to 1) wear a mask during a freaking pandemic. I have stopped my service they continue to spray a home I don't live in or own tried multiple times to cancel but I'm still being charged

Services are always friendly and polite .however its seem to rotate staff every service to my house....I don't personally like this at all it should be like the milk man mail man etc you know them trust them to a point...vs 6 different people a year atleast. As for the services I would like for the under storages to my house sprayed etc (at 5 ft 2 I slightly crouch) but they say they aren't allowed..noone gets a detail spray when they come I had 1 sweet kid do it all one visit but I seem to kill more pests and bugs myself than they kill. read more

We used this service for a year beginning in July 2021 because we were experiencing an ant problem. This had never been an issue in the 2 years previous after we moved in. Even after the first service, we never saw any improved results, in fact, our ant problem actually become worse and we found that bait traps worked more effectively and only took a matter of 3 days to take care of the ants. For a full year and with quarterly services, there was no improvement. I emailed to cancel our service on September 13th, 2022 and was told I had to call in to cancel. Prior to our next service, scheduled for October 22nd, I recieved a charge to my account on October 13th, 2022 of 44.99/mo. I called that very day and asked to cancel. I was put on hold for 25 minutes and once I spoke with the rep, I was told I can cancel but they would not refund me for the charge even though I had not been serviced yet. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was refused, being told I had reached the highest tear and that I could not speak to a manager or the owner because they don't take calls. I feel it's ridiculous I'm being charged for a service I do not want when the service has not even taken place when previous services were not effective. read more

I am baffled by the number of good reviews for this company online, because Hawx Pest Control has been one of the most frustrating, unpleasant companies we have ever dealt with. Trust the one-star reviews - they are developing a reputation in our area for atrocious customers service and rude salesmen, who frequently ignore "No Soliciting" signs to bully customers into contracts that they don't want. That was our experience last year, when one of these reps showed up on our doorstep and signed us up for services without our consent. Instead of sending us additional information (which we politely requested to end an unpleasant conversation) we had a Hawx Pest Control technician show up unannounced to service our home. According to Hawx, it was our responsibility to call and cancel services that we never signed up for! We waited on hold for more than an hour before we were assured that our information had been removed from their system. Today, we received unsolicited text messages from Hawx inviting us to get "back on the schedule." When we called to once again ask that our personal information be removed, the customer service agent hung up on us. My best piece of advice would be to avoid Hawx Pest Control at all costs. I signed a contract with them mid 2020 agreeing to a monthly payment of $29.66 for a quarterly treatment. My account was set up on autodraft. I rarely (if ever) logged into my customer portal. I simply checked off every month when their payment came out. They sent confirmation receipts for each payment to my email. I did not open/review these because I assumed they were just for my records. Apparently, their rate increased in January, 2022 to $39.99. They sent an email regarding this which I overlooked. Yes, I'm GUILTY of overlooking the update. I am ok with the rate increase. I get inflation. However, I am not ok with the way the company handled the billing & subsequently their relationship with me. My account continued to be drafted monthly from Jan-April for $29.67.A total of $118.68. I have not received service since December 6, 2021. I called Hawx on April 20, 2022 to request service. The rep told me I have a $60 balance on my account and I needed to clear it up before they would come out and complete treatment. I was confused so they transferred me to the billing Dept to help explain. The girl in billing, matter of factly stated they had a price increase, my account was set up on a "payment plan" and they needed a payment of $60 to schedule. She was rude and dismissive. I told her I dont have an issue with the increase, however I have an issue with the customer service and communication. I asked why hadn't someone called me and ask to update my payment authorization. She said it was on me to call them. When I said I plan to switch companies, she stated "go ahead and try. We have the cheapest rate in your area." According to my portal, now they were billing me $39.99 per month (in the past, they billed me $89 at the beginning of each quarter and decreased the amount I paid every month). If they continued their billing as they had in the past WITH the increase, I would've been invoiced $119.97 at the beginning of the quarter (January) and even if they still only drafted my account the original amount or $29.67 (times 4), I paid for 1 quarter's pest service (well short by $1.29 which I would've been more than willing to pay). Billing for the second quarter's service (April-June) could've been updated and the relationship saved. However Hawx is choosing to say that I must pay $60 to receive services (which they didn't provide during quarter 1)! They aren't going to go back in time and provide these services, so basically they stole $118.68 from me and closed my account (per my request) leaving a remaining balance of $60.62--again, for services NEVER RENDERED! This is shameful if you ask me. The manager Nicole (who refused to provide any additional info on her credentials/position) who I spoke with on April 26, 2022 was just as rude and matter a fact as the previous girl in billing. I switched to Triangle Pest Control and their rate is $41.99. I think the slightly more expensive rate is well worth the customer service they provided. While switching, the rep educated me on multiple things related to my home and pests/termites. She patiently talked everything through with me for 20+ minutes as I decided on what plan to sign up for. She also explained their price increase (I was a returning customer). I STRONGLY recommend NOT using HAWX. They are clearly only interested in money and not service. Just disappointing. read more

Since moving from a local pest management service, I have not regretted it one bit. Service have been top notch and technicians have been nothing but professional and very thorough. I honestly have no complaints in the services (pest and mosquito management) so far. Only thing so far, I would like to keep a consistent mosquito service technician as I can see a huge difference in the services provided between technicians. DO NOT USE!! I had a mouse issue at my house. This company charged me $140 initial inspection fee and issued a contract for recurring fees. Upon the initial inspection their tech didn't have any of the trap or bait equipment he needed to satisfy the requirements for the inspection. In booking the inspection I had advised we had mice. He said he would return later that day. He never did. I waited several days to call and ask when he was going to return, I did not get any satisfactory information, so I cancelled the service. This company, Hawx, agreed to cancel the service but not the contract because I didn't call within 3 days. This appears to be a bully tactic that will not stand. They are harassing me monthly for fees when they have not once serviced my home. They appear to be operating a scam, charging for a contract for a service which has never once been carried out. Hawx Pest Control did not work for my home as we continued to have many mosquitoes and other insects outdoors and getting into my new home. After complaining the first time I was offered a "free" reservice and it was performed, but it did not change our mosquito and insect problems. I was charged for that reservice 8 days later, so I decided to cancel my service and was charged over $500 as a canceling fee. Do not waste your money and get trapped into a contract with no way out besides paying over $500 in a cancellation fee! read more

Per my Google review Updated 9/30/2021. We advise not to perform the mosquito treatment. Mainly It doesn't last from month to month. The service does not last nearly as long as described. Our Local Services have also been spotty in past few months. Signed up for 6 months of mosquito services and they did not show up for the entire month of September. Time between last treatment in August to current has been 8 weeks. We received confirmation of a mosquito treatment now for Oct., outside of our contract. We do not have a mosquito problem in October. If we tried to just cancel the treatment, it would cost us $200 vs. the $80 fee. We feel cheated in this; not only did they not show up for our last treatment, they want us to pay for a treatment that appears to be outside of the signed contract (we were to have no payment in Oct.) and is unnecessary as we no longer have mosquitos. Only benefit to them is the technicians performing the work were kind and professional. We feel everything else has been a trainwreck. There is a high likelihood we will be cancelling all services and going back to our previous provider. 3 stars. read more
