Stoped by this restaurant around noon the patio had one party and the inside was not packed but the wait was still one hour with no one waiting. Luckily the restaurant across the street was available and the food was amazing. read more

We went to Haymaker with our 2 dogs. They opened the patio for us even though no one else was on the patio due to summer heat. The service was excellent. They could have forgotten about us but they were on top of their game. Breakfast as excellent as well. I highly recommend The Haymaker! read more

So let me start with, we really had high hopes for Haymakers. I think the key word here is "had". That said here we go, I will start off with the positives. The Biscuits and Gravy. Once you season them a little they are great! If you don't they are extremely Bland and lacking sausage. But worth knowing you need to season. The chocolate chip pancakes were a hit as well with the kids. Now for the Neutral. The two Omelettes were just mediocre/ok and agAin lacking seasoning. Would not order again. Now for the bad. The service was terrible and they should work with their staff and their table side manner. Not real pleasant. Price. Denny's quality but with country club/resort pricing. I asked for onions to be added to my omelette and my son was asking for no onions and was told I could not have his. ODD. Now for the terrible. Coffee. It is just terrible overall. Service terrible overall. Decor: beautiful, food: Average, Service: Terrible, Price: Higher than it should be! Not sure if we will give them another chance. By the way their average shot price in the bar is over 6.00 per shot. Being an ex bar owner, 3 shots at Haymaker prices pays for the bottle. On the top shelf side. This is the first time I have been to this Haymaker and my boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time! Our waitress Becky was so awesome and attentive! I order the Monterey Chicken sandwich with a side of baked Mac and my boyfriend ordered the Breakfast Burger with a side of fries. Both meals were delicious! Alexis is the best server we have had. She almost can read minds. Ribs are far better than Chili's and served hot. But, on the opposite side of the spectrum is their desserts. All they have are milk shakes & an OVER PRICED bread pudding which is small & more like a heavy pound cake and the piece was small. It was a busy Sunday at this place. I let my wife out to put our name on list for 5 of us. They told her 30 minutes. While waiting out side in the hot sun for 35 minutes, I decided to see how much longer. When asked how much longer and looked at their list, my wife's name was crossed out. The man behind the counter I believed to be the manager, told me there were 3 groups of 7 ahead of us. We found seats inside to wait. We watched as groups of 2 and 3, that came there after we did, were seated. I heard the manager tell a worker that the name was crossed off by accident and that he (me) just checked. Finally after waiting AN HOUR we were seated. The food made up a little bit for the inept management of this place. Might go back. Will see. 2 stars in generous. read more

First time here not sure what to expect, was not a big fan of this Dillons location but decided to try it out. The food was very good, the price was on point for the food quality. I sat at the bar since it was just the wife and I. The bar tender ( not sure her name but I think is was Erika, the girl with the tattoos)was fun and fast. I would definitely recommend this place. I was sad to see Dillon's close; it was a staple in the area and I loved their chicken club salad. Nevertheless, I was excited to see the Haymaker sign go up as my fiancé and I love the Haymaker on Lake Pleasant Blvd & Happy Valley. We finally made it in to the restaurant today and we could not have been more disappointed. We took a seat at the bar, there were only two other people seated, the bartender was not occupied, yet half the bar top was covered in dirty dishes. The service was just terrible. The whole vibe sucked. We ordered food, hoping to sit and enjoy, but winded up changing our order to to-go because we did not want to be there any longer. The next shift bartender showed up hooting and hollering with the on duty bartender and other staff. She said the F word at least 4 times, loudly in front of customers. She arrived without shoes; she verbalized and laughed about it several times. She plopped down in a booth behind us and seemed to finish getting ready, applying lotion and getting dressed. We literally felt like we were at a sleazy strip club on a weekday. It was all extremely tasteless and ghetto. Getting home and eating the salad I ordered was what really pushed me over the edge and inspired me to write this review. The "BBQ chicken" was LITERALLY cubes of rubber. The lettuce was exclusively the white, hard inedible peices of a head of lettuce. The whole thing was garbage. I hope this review deters others from wasting their time and money. I also hope the owners/managers do something to change this disastrous establishment. read more

Started out with the Asian Salad and think it had a little too much heat to it for starters. Also had the Chicken Little with pineapple salsa. The salsa didn't have much flavor to it. The broccoli was good. My beloved wife had the BBQ Chicken. She noted that there wasn't much cheese in the baked macaroni and cheese. Her chicken was slightly overcooked but the BBQ sauce was good. It's also pretty bright! I prefer a little more of an intimate setting at a restaurant. I'm just not sure. I may make it back but I sure miss Dillon's that used to be here. read more

My son is in town for Christmas so we've eaten out more than usual. Last night was our last trip to Angry Crab Shack on Cactus because of mediocre food and awful service. This morning we went to Haymaker for breakfast because it has been good since it opened. Toward the end of the meal we realized they forgot a pancake. Not a big deal! Within seconds, Jim the manager was at our table to apologize and discount the tab. Like I said, not a big deal but Jim knows how to run a restaurant and his prompt attention to an insignificant matter proves it. Angry Crab should see if Jim has any relatives who want to run their show instead of the slug they have now. The food is great and the place is run right. read more

This place is the most racist place I've ever been to. We came in ordered our food order a couple drinks, and they refused to give us the drinks and not even tell us until after we received our food. We were not rowdy we were nice we were respectful, but because they heard Brewfest they refused to serve us, without even telling us. We came in, sat down, ordered food and drinks, and our food started coming, but our 2 drinks didn't we were a group of seven. I asked the waitress where the two drinks were and she looked at our African-Americans friend and said he had too much to drink, and they would not be serving us. They heard that we came from a brew fest and decided they were not going to service us. They did not tell us this when we ordered the drinks they waited till our food was on the way we were not rude, disruptive, loud or rowdy. We were very respectful and the manager would not give us any explanation on why she would not service us. She was rude. She was racist. We were not intoxicated. Fantastic food, very reasonable prices. Food came out Hot. It is rare that I go to a restaurant and the eggs are still piping hot when they get to the table. Eggs tend to go cold pretty fast. Ate breakfast this morning in a new place to us after a doctors appointment. We eat breakfast out at least 2x a month and try new places sometimes. This place was a big disappointment for sure. Ordered a bacon and swiss cheese omelet that was bacon bits ,so hard and the smallest omelet ever. Potatoes covered half the plate and were cold. Also only one slice of half toasted bread. She said I can have another for no charge.lol. my husband had the same complaints. My breakfast was 11.50 what a rip off. Go to Mimi's or even Dennys for a decent breakfast. Fool me once. read more

Went to Haymakers for a group dinner meeting. On the table was the printed menu, but no prices marked. When we ask waitress prices, she stated that it was happy hour and that the items my table was looking at were $4.00 off, but never gave us the prices. I had chicken wings, six wings, edible but nothing outstanding. Came with one thin slice of carrot that was white from age, one thin slice of celery, stalk had been cut in half and was also aged. A small side of ranch dressing, that was it. Bill came $8.95, when questioned was told it was $2.00 off, meaning regular price was $10.95 for six wings. I have had far better wings at half the price at fast food places. This is retirement living area, most of us live on tight budgets. Prices on other foods were extremely high, $16.00 for a average sandwich, chicken fried steak was $20.00. I know Food prices are up, wages are up, but this is ridiculous. Will I go back, no way no how, there are much better restaurants and much lower prices other places. read more

We live close to this restaurant, we were excited to have Dillons be done with, our first day was pretty good. I recommended people eat there. We went 3 more times, kept thinking they're new let's give them a chance, all the good reviews happened in December. January was miserable, wrong items almost every plate every time we have gone there. I recommended this place to a Food Service manager and she was not happy and I don't blame her. She picked the order up, she had to send someone back, it was wrong again. we complained to the manager, 3 times only because we want them to succeed. Something needs to change, we will not go back for a long time. It didn't matter weather we ate in the restaurant or pick up order, they can not get the order right. Breakfast was good, hot, and big. HOWEVER the cinnamon roll must have been nuked because it was served in a bowl filled with liquid "icing". The roll was tough and gummy. Service was fast and friendly. Servers knew their menu. I will go back but not order the cinnamon roll. read more

So the service was good and we liked some of what we ordered. We were told to check this place out because their burgers are insanely good. We ordered two burgers and honestly we weren't that impressed. What was odd is that they were pretty expensive burgers to. For that price they need to be a lot better.
