Went to Haymakers this morning and had breakfast. I had the Haymakers breakfast sandwich. It was delicious. Others in my party had Biscuits and Gravy Skillet and Haymakers Benedict. I started coming here (this location) about a week ago and all I can say is the food and service has been amazing. I usually sit at the bar to eat and the bar tender is AWESOME! She always has great suggestions and is so polite to everyone. Ordered a chicken sandwich today and, it was crisped to perfection! Service was awful. Our server was so rude, rolled her eyes at us often, never came back to refill drinks, I kept having to walk inside to order more! The food was good, thought it was very over priced for the portions. I ordered a small salad, it was the size of a side salad, with the price of a dinner. I love to support small local businesses, but your servers definitely need more training! read more

It's been 3 months since I last visited Haymakers (right after their opening) and a lot has changed, The noise level which was my biggest complaint after that first visit has been greatly reduced. Our group of 12 were seated on the "porch" which was very quiet However walking through the main dining room, it was very obvious major changes have been made and it is now possible to carry on a conversation with your dining friends. The food is good and the handheld sandwiches are a great value at lunchtime with $2.00 off regular price of all handhelds. That brought my 1/2 pound hamburger to just under $10.00. The burger was cooked just right and served with sweet potato fries. The fries were excellent but after seeing the gigantic onion rings. I'm thinking they will be my side order next time. Had dinner there for the first time last evening. I have to say the food was slightly disappointing. Wife had Mama's Meatloaf and I got what they called Southwest Fried Chicken. Mama's Meatloaf had been finished on a grill? Needless to say it was very dry and served without gravy or sauce, ugh! My southwest fried chicken was nothing more than a thin breaded chicken patty. Absolutely nothing to do with fried chicken. The Smashed potato's were OK, but nothing special. The southwest sauce was kind of bland and tasted like it came from a can. Our steamed Broccoli was the star of our plates. I forgot about our order of onion rings. Once again over breaded to the point of barely tasting any onion. We went for breakfast yesterday morning. We were seated promptly and the waitress came right over and took our drink orders. We ordered our food and it arrived fairly quick but we should have immediatelyreturned it!! My toast was burnt and both of our hash browns were so over done we couldn't cut them with a knife!! We were never offered drink refills until we were ready to leave even though they weren't that busy. I know it's not the restaurants fault but the group of 5 young ladies sitting at the table next to us were so loud we couldn't hear our own conversation and we were sitting next to each other! Every server we have had has been great and friendly! Food and drinks have been amazing and a good price with good portions. We go for breakfast every other Sunday and love the country potatoes! Miranda always gives great service with a happy attitude! We went their twice and have no plans to return. The first time we had a traditional breakfast with eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. The eggs were fine but the hash browns were mushy and undercooked. The second time I had the patty melt. The bread was burnt and soggy, and who uses sourdough? Isn't it supposed to be on rye? Was wanting to take my family out for a nice New Year's Eve dinner so we went to Black Angus. After a an awful experience waiting and being skipped numerous times we left. Everywhere else we attempted to go to was packed because it was now around 6 since we wasted over an hour at Black Angus. Hangry and disappointed we decided just to go home when suddenly we noticed Dillons was no longer on Thunderbird and the 101 but in its place was Haymakers. We decided to give it a chance and what a lifesaver it was. What was going to be a failure of a night turned into a very memorable night. Breakfast all day kept the kids very happy and their food and cocktails were some of the tastiest I've ever had. The manager was extremely friendly while making his rounds and helped us feel as if we were part of the Haymaker family along with our attentive waitress. So happy we found this gem and will be back again and again. Thank you Haymaker for salvaging our New Years Eve. read more

I picked up family at airport and we wanted to get something to eat. It was 8 pm when we arrived at Haymaker on Thunderbird. The service staff was more interested in mopping the floor than checking to see if we had what we needed. Several times we had to track someone else down to get something from our server. The parking lot was so dark when we arrived we thought they were closed. We like the Peoria Haymaker but may not give this location. another try. They seem to be under staffed or under trained or both. I am a chef/restauranteur and I enjoy going to places close to home but I'll never go back. The culture reflects the leadership and it shows. If Matt is a part of the leadership team you're in trouble. He was rude, no regard for service and unprofessional. Biscuit was over cooked and dry. Scrambled Eggs were wet. Potatoes lack flavor. Chicken and waffles were a joke lol. The presentation was terrible for the chicken and waffles. Had the opportunity to enjoy a breakfast here. Nice place, in the old Dillons building. Bar area was open seating so we decided to take advantage of that. Otherwise, wait on a Saturday at 10AM was 10 minutes...not bad. Kind of surprised the Big 12 Championship game wasn't on any TVs, as the bar area had several TVs, 8 or so, and it's championship weekend. Managers and bar staff should make this a priority, IMO. I see it everywhere in this state and it's frustrating. But, got the server, really nice girl, albeit green, to put it on a TV for us. Sat down and ordered Haymaker hazy. My companion had a Bloody Mary. Hazy was just the right color and finished nice. Bloody Mary was good, but presentation left something to be desired. People like loaded Bloodys, whole bacon, etc. just had a simple cherry tomato, celery and olive. Companion ordered French toast, server wasn't sure if it came with potatoes or not, which, like I had mentioned before, she's green. But sweet nonetheless. I ordered Haymaker Benedict. Food came to the table nice and hot. Haymaker had a nice chipotle gravy, with breaded chicken, bacon and scrambled eggs. Spinach and tomatoes on mashed. Ton of flavor, had a nice heat that sat for a while. Very good dish. French toast was standard, nothing exceptional but it's French toast. Satisfied the craving. After my beer I ordered the early morning Manhattan. Bourbon, cold brew, Irish cream and steamed milk. What came to the table didn't have any milk or Irish cream, and was garnished with an orange. Noticed the issue and the drink was mixed up. They re-made the drink but didn't have a steamer to steam the milk. Said it's at the other two locations but they don't have one here. It's ok, but don't advertise something on a menu of its not available. It's a simple menu template. Spend the money as an owner and make sure you have an accurate menu. My companion, after the Bloody Mary ordered the same drink I had ordered. Once again, no milk, no baileys. Moreover it clearly had hot coffee as opposed to a cold brew. It's disappointing to have a sub par bartender that serves breakfast craft cocktails. She needs time behind a bar to learn how to make the correct cocktails, and the owner and management needs to provide the proper training and supplies. Overall, the food will make me return. Service was good but I could tell the server was very raw. Maybe her first job? Looking forward to returning when they establish a better rhythm. read more

poor service, 5 of us went for a nice brunch. got two bottles of champagne for mimosas and waited for 20 minutes as we watched our bottles sit in the well. ordered a grilled cheese, the layers of cheese was not even melted and bread wasn't toasted. friend ordered the patty melt same thing. a "boozy" milkshake was ordered, again same thing watched it sit in the well and when received it was pure liquid with ice cubes in it. do not recommend this location, go to happy valley if you want quality food and quality service read more

I really wanted to give Haymaker a good review so I waited after trying their disappointing breakfast. I decided I would try there lunch and give them a second chance. This place has everything a restaurant needs to be successful except good food. Their biscuits and gravy are over kneaded bread-cuits and the gravy was a white watered down pudding with absolutely no discernible sausage. The bacon and eggs were good but I can get those anywhere. Lunch: I ordered their Hot & Heavy Pastrami sandwich. You know when you order a hot pastrami sandwich, you're expecting a big juicy messy pile of deliciousness on a fresh toasted rye? Not at Haymaker. I got a small sandwich with the driest thin sliced meat that was so not enjoyable. The fries that came with it were good but the sandwich just plain sucked. Twice now I've left disappointed. Here's what I think: they are a burger restaurant and everything else is menu window dressing. Their burgers looked good, their fries are good. They give a huge glass of soda. So if your looking for a burger stop, Haymaker is probably OK. Other than that, forget it. read more

We were so excited that Haymaker was going in to the old Dillon's! We've been to the one on Happy Valley on several occasions and have always had a good experience. This time, however, not so much. We invited friends to dinner to try out the new place in the neighborhood. We were all disappointed. It was a Saturday night around 7:30 and the place was not very busy. We were greeted by the hostess who mentioned we could sit anywhere in the bar, which we did. I'm not sure if the waitress was new or just shy, but it was awkward. She was nice, just didn't really seem to know what she was doing. 2 of the 4 drinks that our party ordered were unavailable (both draft beers). We needed a minute to look at the menu, but after about 20 minutes of waiting to order, we flagged someone down. The food was the best part of the night. Very good! We didn't realize the place closed at 9, so when my husband went to order another drink at 9:05 and the waitress advised us they weren't serving anymore, we were surprised. We could have at least been given the option of last call, if not by the waitress than by the bartender. Just a quick, "Hey, just so guys know..." would have been great. Everything about the night just seemed a little off, and I am so bummed that we probably won't be coming back in for a while. Maybe we'll try again after some time has passed and the kinks have been resolved. But for now, we'll be dining elsewhere. read more

I've always liked Haymaker so we decided to give new one a try. It was very crowded so I can understand the delay on getting waited on. Took 25 minutes to get a drink. Food took over an hour for a grilled cheese, salad and cup of chili. Chili was solid with no liquid, sandwich was cold. Salad was OK, but I would never order again. It was obvious it was understaffed and I felt sorry for the waitress's who were very frustrated. 3 greeters stood by front door and talked the whole time.
