Got invited to a birthday celebration here and absolutely loved everything: from the restaurant's design and cozy atmosphere to the food, live music, and service. The menu was presented beautifully, the service was top-notch, and the live Armenian music was exactly what my soul needed. Both the musicians and the singers delivered a good time. Parking is valet, but honestly, in the evenings you can usually find street parking nearby. A beautiful spot all around.

We decided to visit newly opened Hayrik Restaurant in Glandale and of course was the best decision we made, great atmosphere, of course best of the best food, everything we tried which honestly was almost everything, ( because of my old habit, special when I go somewhere new) gyarni Yarekh, Lamb Shanks, every single bbq they have on manu... , above and beyond customer service, extremely caring management ( special thank you Harut), even servers were the best that I ever saw. they had live music playing which was very nice. Overall had great experience have to admit my new absolute favorite new spot

Food was excellent.Service perfect! BBQ super! Traditional family place! Thank you!

This new restaurant came highly recommended and I'm happy to have gone. Instantly as soon as you walk in the live music, the ambience automatically set you in a great mood. Then as you approach your table, you're greeted by a waiter and with a preset of appetizers at the table for you to start the evening. Salads, dips, appetizers, and main entrées were all very delicious. The entertainment was also very good as they sang very old school Armenian songs that brought back many memories especially for the parents and grandparents. Galust, was our attentive and polite waiter, made the experience even more amazing. And I had the pleasure of speaking with Harut, the manager, who helped us reserve for our large group and checked on us throughout the night. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that I can't wait to repeat!

Beautiful interior. Came early, so had the whole place to ourselves for a bit

A hidden gem in a not fancy area of Glendale. This is my second time dining here. It is a brand new restaurant with tasteful decor. Menu features Armenian cuisine with modern twist. Food was delicious and very fresh. We ordered family style and enjoyed variety of delicious BBQ and several sides. The bread was freshly baked on site. Will definitely return soon.

The food, service, and entertainment is top noch. This is an Armenian restaurant with an upscale modern atmosphere. We booked a party of 14 people and had a server by our side the entire time. The menu is a mix or Armenian and American.

Found Salt and Olive down the street and we really enjoyed our meals. The restaurant is very nice and comfortable. We sat on the patio and got our menus right away. Water came right after that. It was between lunch and dinner time and there was just one person taking orders. It took a while to get our order placed, but the food came out shortly after that. The restaurant is very comfortable with a good amount of tables. The menu is pretty thorough and offers a lot of options. We went with a chicken wrap and a chicken kabob plate. Both dishes were cooked correctly, lots of flavor and presented well. The chicken was flavorful, and were good size pieces. The rice was very fluffy and had a nice flavor as well. The salad was basically just a salad. Not a lot to say about it. We were both full and happy when we were done with the meal. There is a parking lot that you can get your ticket validated for 90 minutes. We were lucky and found street parking very nearby. For the price, this is a good place. Not very pricey, it is a pretty good value. I did not get around to ordering any Baklava, but I saw a plate come out and I need to be sure to order it next time. It looked so good.

This is not the best Armenian restaurant in the world. It is also not the most glamorous, the most…read moretrendy, nor the most ambitious. But it is without question the most important Armenian restaurant in the world. Armenians are simultaneously a diaspora people, a people of the book, and an old country people. Therefore, odd as it may seem, it is entirely appropriate that the most important Armenian restaurant in the world should not be located in Armenia at all, but should serve a diaspora community in a way that makes them feel connected to home, both interns of cuisine and in terms of communal warmth. Technically, this is more of a Lebanese restaurant than an Armenian restaurant, but that hardly matters. It's a place of celebration, merriment, laughter, and tears. In short, it is THE gathering place for Armenians in Southern California. Because of its fame and importance, the thing that is consistently overlooked about this restaurant is just how excellent the food is. Bring a Lebanese expat here and you will invariably hear them say after the first bite of hummus that it doesn't compare to the hummus they used to enjoy in Beirut. By the middle of the bowl, they will say that it actually is not as bad as they first thought. By the end of the bowl they will declare that this hummus ranks among the greatest they have ever tasted. Carousel does not overwhelm you. It seduces you. And you'll be back.

We were immediately greeted by the owner who excels at friendly banter and salesmanship (not in a pushy way - he clearly loves what he does and wants people to enjoy good food, so he happily gave some recommendations). We got the lule with a sparkling water and a salad, then were surprised with an extra side of rice so we could try the ghee and another sparkling water, courtesy of the owner. The chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful and I loved the added bonus of the onions that we could pull together into a wrap. I can't complain about the price either because between the 2 of us, we were satisfyingly full with just one order. Excellent spot for a casual lunch or takeout. I absolutely will come back to try the chicken Cesar.

TLDR: Hear me out, if you have any doubt about chicken being less superior to beef or other meat. TRY the chicken thigh here. It makes justice for chickens (I still need to try their beef or lamb tho) I was running errands in Glendale today and I was starving and looking for lunch spots around. Turns out Mini Kabob was 3 mins walk away, it was a no brainer, my feet just took me there. Didn't expect to go there, so didn't order ahead but I'm fine with waiting. After last time's magnificent chicken thigh, I was determined to try their other entrees. However, Armen said the chicken thigh is the best seller out of their entrees- well, time for a round 2 I guess? This time I'm eating the entree at the spot and I just gotta say- IT SLAPS!! I'm genuinely not a big fan of chicken, because when you can choose beef why chicken? But this chicken is so juicy, so tender, so heavenly. Yummy!! The garlic sauce is great but the hummus and the fresh lavash, h o l y - f. Last time it was already so good even as a leftover, and eating it right at the spot is just transcending. I also tried their Armenian pear soda, it's delicious and refreshing with the heat right now in summer. I left with my tummy happy and their service is always great, they get busy but still no attitude, no bs, gives the right recommendations. Even this is like a take out restaurant, it still surpasses most of the kabob restaurant. Without doubt I'm coming back again after their break, please be there. I love you mini kabob

That's not all, tip will also be requested when checking out. Our Visit: My family and I have visited Elena's before and had a good experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. This time, we noticed a clear drop in food quality, portion sizes, overall service and an unexpected new surprise on the bill. I came in with my wife, our two young children (10month old and 2 year old), and my mom. Unfortunately, the pita bread was stale, a portion of my wife's chicken was undercooked, the portions were noticeably smaller than before, and the server completely forgot my mom's drink. Those issues alone were frustrating, but what really stood out were the added fees at the end, fees that were not charged in the past. We were charged a 20% "large party fee", along with an additional "service fee". When I spoke with the owner, he explained that their system automatically applies a large party charge to any group of 4 or more people, including babies who don't even order food. That threshold seems unusually low, especially since most places consider 6 or more a "large party" and from my experience typically don't consider babies 2 years and younger as occupants. Even more concerning, none of these fees were clearly communicated to us beforehand. Being surprised with multiple charges at the end of a meal feels misleading and leaves a bad impression. To add to that, after already including these fees, the payment process still prompts customers to leave an additional tip. I've only seen this type of fee structure at higher-end restaurants and for more people, not at a casual spot like this, and even then it's usually disclosed upfront. If a business is going to charge extra, the service and overall experience should reflect that. My recommendation for Elena's, if you want to make more money, just raise your food prices so your customers at least know how much they're going to spend at the end. Not slap surprise charges at the end and force your customers to pay. On a positive note, at least they were playing Fast and the Furious on their TV. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL. Please be aware of their shady business practices.
