Now I'm sitting in my house AGAIN with a temp of 83 degrees. They offered a warranty plan I was considering but there isn't a chance in hell I'll do that with them now. I wish I had looked at the reviews here before reaching out to Thermo Direct. I called them on Sunday for an emergency plumbing issue and they said they could only come out the next day between 1 and 6. The next day after waiting they called and they said they could not be here until Tuesday between 1 and 6. Tuesday they called and said they could not come today and wanted to reschedule. My toilets have been backed up since Sunday, so apparently they cannot grasp the concept of an emergency. Everybody I talked to was polite and courteous, so there is that, but that doesn't make up for all the time I wasted expecting them to honor the commitment to show up. read more

Dishonest. I called for warranty info. Sent a salesman over and charged us $89. They did a courtesy inspection of our villages hot water heaters. Told us ours and everybody else they needed to be replaced. We have ours under warranty with Duke Power. Called them and they said it didn't need to be replaced just replaced a valve on the side of the tank. Wouldn't trust this company! read more

My husband contacted this company when our ac that they installed 2yrs ago quit. We have been without air conditioning for 5 days. He paid them another $2600.00 4 days ago . Now we can't get as much as a call back from management. My husband was told today by the rep that sold us this system that the part that has failed had a 10yr warranty. Good new the HVAC Board of Licensing brought Mr. Lynn back in for another hearing. The Director told me that if I got an engineer to look at the system and if he found something wrong, they would reopen the case. I asked him did he know an engineer and he gave me his number. He and his wife came and did the load capacity and checked the system thoroughly. They found all kinds of issues. One was they'd put 90% furnace in the attic. These furnaces are to only be put in a basement. The ductwork was horrible. The unit had third party parts and the ventilation was and ductwork was completely wrong. I got an email from the owner informing me of the Board contacting her husband. If asked would she mind sending me the letter. She offered to move the 90% furnace but I told her that I had to buy a new unit but would gladly accept her help to pay for the proper furnace that was installed but she didn't respond. The Board finally believed me. I feel vindicated! read more

Excellent service, professional, timely, great value, knowledgeable and details oriented

I called the company, I spoke to Morgan or magain if I remember correctly and I have a rain pipe in my backyard clogged with roots. We scheduled for the second day 8-10 am. Quan Jones came to the house and he didn't have any tools, no electric snake, no jets, no vacuum machine, so basically he wasn't ready to do the job!! He then apologized and called the office and rescheduled for 2 o clock after giving me an estimate for $336.89 to finish the job completely. He said this is supposed to be for 45 minutes. Usually cleaning pipes takes less than an hour, but if we stay more I will write it off for you no extra charge. 3:30 pm Steve and Joe knocked on my door and we're ready to do the job, they started working and they were very nice guys. They worked hard to finish the job, but unfortunately they came only with electric snake with one working head. They should've brought multiple heads, but they said they didn't have any. No jets, no vacuum, so after a while working they came up with some of the roots around 50% of what was in the pipe. The water is running very very slow and the pipe was still clogged. They said we cannot go any further because they didn't have the right equipment. The job needed a 2 inch snake head and they didn't have it. I still paid the full amount !!! I am very sure they have a management problem because the front desk said to not worry since they would get it, but it ended up with a half way done job. I'm very surprised a big company didn't have enough equipment to clean a clogged pipe!!! It's not a shame to say you aren't able to do the job instead of wasting your clients time and abuse, the men power Before you decide to assign for a job, please make sure you have the right equipment for the job is not hit and run just taking money and leave unfinished job behind!! We bought a High Efficiency Daikin AC/Furnace from them. While the big selling point was that they offered 12 yr. warranty on parts And Labor And Refrigerant, it didn't really reduce our power bill much, if any. Then after a year we moved. Apparently the warranty is not transferable and Daikin will only warranty parts only for 5 years when ownership is transferred. On top of all of that I called a month before we moved asking about how to transfer the warranty of the AC/furnace. I told them we were moving. In all honesty I didn't remember that we paid a monthly "membership" fee to them so I didn't specifically say "please cancel out membership". When, after a couple of months I realized that they were still charging us our monthly membership fee I called and they said they would be happy to cancel our membership but couldn't refund the 2 membership payments we had made since selling the house because we didn't specifically ask to have our membership cancelled. I said that I told them we were moving well in advance but that didn't make any difference. I asked how we could have a contract to service units that we no longer legally owned, and they said "Well, maybe you wanted to gift the membership to the new owners - how were we to know?" Some of you, I imagine will agree with them that it was my fault, but still I think "the right thing to do" would have been to refund us the membership fee. read more

This company is absolutely horrible We did a lot of research to find a unit that we needed to replace in our home. It wasn't fun to begin with, since our unit was only 6 years old and already needed to go. I spoke with a project manager, Eddie, who helped us decide what we needed. I purchased the unit, and they came out and installed it a few days later. It was two young kids, I remember one of their names was Austin. They finished installing the entire heat pump within a few hours, which really concerned me. Come to find out, they left trash all over our yard outside where the new unit was installed, all over the attic, and left small pieces of sharp copper piping all over our house. I have a toddler and he almost stepped on a piece and handed it to me! How unsafe!!! But it gets so, so much worse. A few days later, I go into my expectant daughter's room and find a huge puddle of water on the floor. I look up, and the unit has leaked over our entire ceiling and the wall was starting to pucker on the ceiling. Our floors are ruined, the entire ceiling under the unit was covered with water and damaged. Our floors are also warped and were stained from the stagnant water. I called very upset, and a technician took about 4 hours to get there. I spoke to the manager, Tonka on the phone. She was nice enough, and offered $250 no frustration guarantee (which we NEVER GOT, by the way. That is also only 3% of what we paid for the unit and installation). The tech came and made a temporary solution for final repair of the unit that week. We then get a call from an insurance adjuster for Thermo that said WE have to find a contractor and get quotes to get our ceiling and floor fixed??!! Where is Thermo?! Why are they not handling this like they said they would! Their unit RUINED my daughter's room who is due in a few weeks! They have not made a single repair or ANY effort! It has been OVER 2 WEEKS now and no one will even call me back! They are not 24/7, they do not hold their promises. The only thing I can tell you is they will install a crappy unit and take zero responsibility for inevitably destroying your home. Beware of this company when you make a large investment such as a new heat pump, or any other home comfort option. read more

Thermo Direct is a life saver!! Our system went down and the same day I called they sent a technician to my home. He was professional and polite. He not only explained what was going on but showed me the inside of my system, pointing out for me to see what was wrong. I've been burnt in the past by HVAC companies and I really appreciated the transparency that the Technician displayed. We ended by replacing instead of repair because our system was out of warranty and it was more cost effective to replace. The whole install was a breeze and they handled everything! Very knowledgeable, speedy, nice - I'd highly recommend them! They came within hours of calling, and quickly identified the problem and addressed it. Derek is incredible - an expert at all things HVAC-related! Ben seems to still be learning the ropes, but is also very nice, efficient, and good. The only ding I have is the freakin price. They installed a new damper for us and charged us OVER 3x the price I could find for the item on Amazon. The cost included labor, but I can't believe the upcharge was so ridiculous. Consumer beware!!! I reached out and scheduled this service with the company online as they direct you to. I took a vacation day from work to receive the service and now they are cancelling 43 minutes prior saying they cannot make it until next week. This is horrible support and lack of service purchased. I spoke with representative Landice from the company who although said she understood my frustration, she was not empathetic in identifying the resolution. She did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue and I wasted a vacation day on services not rendered. While Landice stated she could schedule the service for 4 days later, the manager Shauna stated it would actually be 6 days late. This company is very inconsistent in its practices and offerings. Be leary when attempting to conduct business as you may find you've wasted both time and money. read more

I had them come out after we had a night of 10 degree weather and my outside heat pump fan was barely spinning for hours. Technician said the fan motor was cooked and it would cost me $1100 to fix. I talked to him about size of unit and he said he would recommend new unit and I had 2 choices $14000 or $15000 everything included. He said it was best to decide then so he could order parts. It killed me but I said yes and we had discussions that prices on the net did not come close to their prices and he said everything has skyrocketed. A few days later I got a second opinion from another company and he said motor was fine and unit works great, it was just too cold to keep up. The Thermo Direct technician disconnected the motor which now seems super shady. During these days I also had correspondence with other people at Thermo Direct and there was miscommunication about them coming out to my house to make sure I needed specific unit and questions could be answered. I ended up talked to a representative on the phone however and that is when I called it quits with this company. The GM reached out to me and said they do not tolerate this kind of incident and refunded the services fee call and said they are investigating situation. read more

This company is a rip off. They tried to charge a 90 year old woman $900.00 to replace a new hose and shut off valve on a gas furnace that they installed a few years ago. They had the audacity to insist on her paying 50% of the service and when I called on her behalf some rude lady said, " yeah this is our policy because we have to order the parts." Little did she know that I knew someone who works at the warehouse where they have an account so they don't need to have people pay for parts. I mean it's a hose and a valve, nothing elaborate. I asked her then why didn't she have to pay half of the furnace install? She said maybe she financed it...NOPE!!!! So I called a more reputable company and the total cost was $285.00. The company even installed new pipes. Thermodirect seems to be taking advantage of the elderly and the uninformed. All I will say is to shop around and you will see that there are better companies with better service and better prices. read more

Believe me, I tried 5 other Heating and AC companies in the same area and after they met me at the house, I was always left with a feeling like they all wanted to UPSELL me on the latest and greatest AC/heat pump... I was in an interesting position as I did not want to run my credit as I was in underwriting, but Donnie Lopez at Thermo Direct worked overtime to give me alternate solutions...HE called me during/after hours t0 make certain he gave me every option--until we landed on the perfect plan! The GREAT service did not end there, the day of the install, Carlos and Raul, continued the amazing service by arriving on time, working tirelessly in the heat (120 degrees in my attic) to give me long awaited new AC/heat pump! Amazing and fast. I had an emergency HVAC Failure on a Sunday! Not only did the schedule A tech they also gave me a time Frame when the tech would arrive. There is more - a weekday service visit Is only $79 - an emergency after hours service visit at 6pm on a Sunday? $99! Since they were so busy I enjoyed the presence of the operations manager Derek. Derek is a very professional fast working and very intelligent tech who knows his systems through and through. He solved my HVAC system problem and cleaned up the work of a previous company who did very sloppy repair just three months ago. Repair work in system cleanup was very well done. Be prepared to be bamboozled. In my email to Thermo Direct I asked for an FREE estimate because they sent me a super friendly email asking kindly for my business. FREE gets them to your house but by the time they leave, the free estimate turns quickly into $179.00. A quote for a system needing service, isn't free. They also wanted to meet me at my house the following day for around 90min. They try to lock you in so you can't get other estimates. They were missed leading not once,not twice, but, three times before I told them to turn the truck around and find somebody else to screw, I have a wife, thank you very much. I can't say enough good things about this company. From the friendly and helpful women who answered the phone and provided guidance and scheduling, to Derek, the owner, and his fine team of of Jakob, Ben and Francisco my experience with this company has been great. The honesty and integrity of everyone involved is to be commended. It began on a hot steamy summer night when my A/C went out and I called their 24 hour line. The woman who answered the phone was so understanding and helpful and scheduled an appointment for the following day--Sunday. Derek immediately set about working to restore my A/C which was almost impossible because the system was completely rusted and clogged up and almost fruitless to repair. I explained to Derek that I was facing surgery that week and expecting several caretakers and needed the A/C. He was so kind and understanding and said he would not leave my home until he could get the A/C up and running for a few more weeks. Thus, I had A/C throughout the recovery period and then had a complete new HVAC system installed. The team that installed it over the course of two 10-hour days were amazing. They were so knowledgeable, polite and hardworking. Derek himself returned the following day to inspect their work and everything was working fine. I highly recommend this company.
