Hazel is quite cute. I haven't been here before, although I'm pretty positive the store has been here since before I moved into the neighborhood. They have a couple of storefronts; one is focused solely on clothes and accessories, whilst the other has a variety of goods: some apparel (scarves, gloves, that sort of thing), jewelry, children's goodies, cards, and so on. This is a great place to stop in to find a gift for someone you adore--and they have things at a lower price point as well, if you need to find something for someone you don't. The staff is really friendly, very helpful, and not overbearing. Great combination! Parking is street only along Montrose, and it's metered. Perhaps more convenient, the Montrose stop on the Brown Line is half a block east so pop on over.

When you have trouble finding the perfect gift for someone who already has everything, go to this place. It's the quintessential gift shop that's teeming with unique items, such as puzzles, jewelry, a wide selection of greeting cards for every personality, house plants, and more. While the store is small in size it is packed with different kinds of products which can also serve as an inspiration for gift ideas. On my visit I went with the intent to just look around but ended up buying two plants that were just perfect in size and reasonably priced.

This very tiny shop has a variety of items that would be perfect if you need to pick up a gift for someone. They have candles, greeting cards, jewelry, and several baby items. I ended up buying a cute little onesie that has is designed to look like the Chicago flag but with hearts in place of the stars. it's so cute and I can't wait to put it on my little ones. They had several other onesies that were cute. I mentioned to the shopkeeper that I wanted to get a little bean onesie, and she mentioned they carry them but they sell out so quickly and the woman who she gets them from is backed up in stock. It makes sense to me because they're adorable! I didn't realize they had them here so it's good I could pick it up from here if I can't find it elsewhere. Parking is on the street BUT you're in luck because the Brown Line station is half a block away. There's also street parking on Damen and possibly the surrounding streets (not sure, but because it's near a train station I'd suspect it might be permit parking on the side streets).

It was everything I hoped and dreamed for. Browsing the cards, stickers, journals and more in person was so much fun. Everywhere I looked I found more things that I wanted to buy for friends (or myself!). I love the humor in their store-made goods, and stocked up for the holidays and some upcoming special occasions. The store is brimming with creative, hilarious gifts and stationery. And supporting a local, woman-owned business is one of my favorite things to do. Staff were friendly and helpful, including hooking me up with a punch card that will guarantee more in-person trips.

We wanted to support our local jewelers but we've had two bad experiences here…read more First, my wedding ring had grown a little too tight so I took it to get resized. They ended up charging $800 and over a month to stretch it out so big that the white gold band became super super thin and the ring flew off my finger. It was comically too big. As soon as they saw it on my finger they agreed to take it back down several sizes. But even with the attempt to fix their mistake the ring still swings around on my finger and the band remains tiny compared to what to once was. I knew the band would thin a bit but since they mistakenly doubled the amount it needed to be stretched I lost a lot of my wedding rings integrity due to that mistake. Even with that, when my husband lost his wedding ring we went back here to find a replacement. Big mistake. After looking at a bunch of rings in the store we didn't find anything in the style he likes that was also white gold. It was important to him to have white gold both to match my ring and also he explained to them he didn't like the various yellow shades of gold against his darker skin tone. The store suggested a more expensive option on special order. We paid up front. The ring came in over a month later and I was out of town for work during that time. My husband picked up the ring and was immediately disappointed but he didn't tell me about it. It was yellow gold. Had I been there I would have refused it, but he did not feel comfortable doing that so he took it home and by the time I came back from my trip, he'd already been wearing it and feeling like he could not return it. Now we have two wedding rings that do not match and that both of us are disappointed about all because of mistakes by the store. And that just makes me sad.
