Fantastic customer service. First time visiting this spot and they had a clean set up with guys in the back taking orders and working on customer builds. Great atmosphere. I came in just for a m.2 standoff and screw for my NVMe memory card to hold into my mobo. Very specific and cheap part and this was my last shot looking around before I just ordered online (I only need one so I didn't want to buy in bulk). They took their time to look and had great customer service for it even tho it wasn't gonna do much for their business. Unfortunately they didn't have it but they still gave me some free screws just in case! Very cool spot. Though this is very late, I would like to keep my word of giving an updated review of my more positive experience the second time around. Initially, I was disappointed in the diagnostic they gave me, as what they reported to me was very vague and uninformative given the amount of time it took for them to give me an answer. This lead to my first experience being a very negative one, and I left a review reflecting this. However, the manager Amir reached out a couple hours after I had posted, in which he offered that he would check over my PC and give me a more thorough report as well as repair my PC free of charge if given the replacement parts. This time around responses and updates were much faster and communication was significantly better, improving my experience to the point where now I would absolutely recommend this business. After using my PC for a while now after the repairs, with it crashing once in a blue moon likely due to just software problems, I can gladly say that this particular location deserves it's reputation of almost 5 stars, as their extensive knowledge in computers is also complimented nicely by the fact that they do look for the customers bests interests from what I've experienced. That and one of the male receptionists, sorry I forgot your name, was very friendly and engaging, making the time spent waiting pass quickly. I may look for a diagnostic/quote on my Mac, so if I'm considering places, this would likely be one of the options I would choose first! read more

I build computers myself and had a little trouble putting back a laptop, so I brought it in here to help with some ribbon cables The tech showed me how to remove the keyboard from the laptop, and now I don't have ribbon cable issues after that. I liked the service received recently with HB Computers in having my laptop repaired, I decided to bring in my old PC for a tuneup. You have to love dealing with the professionalism displayed by ALL employees here at HB. From the moment you walk into the front door and pleasantly greeted to your final invoice, just great! I brought in my PC that was over 10 years old. Nothing was wrong with it but from past experiences with Amir and his crew - wanted to bring them more of my business. I had the DVD drive replaced, RAM increased, and hard drive converted to SSD from the conventional spinning disks... My PC was starting to slow - I was concerned taking the old files and programs from an old hard drive to an advanced SSD would lose something in programs. I did not have installation disks or serial numbers for current softwear on the old hard-drive....NOT! While it has happened in the past many times, NOT THIS TIME! My PC is more quiet, efficient and working great! I had no concern what the cost would be. When I picked up the PC that was worked on, it ended up costing less than 1/3 the cost of another Chop Shop computer joint that charged me a 4 digit figure to save data from a bad hard drive. My daughter went there with the new keyboard to fix her computer, because my eyes aren't as good as they used to be, needed it ASAP, and I was at work. They told her $70 just to open it and look at it, and that it might need to be soldered. A simple google search would have brought up the video of how to change it out. My old computer couldn't keep up with the demands of today's applications. Since buying a camera & storing hundreds of pictures it took forever to simply open a folder. Startup was a drag too. Then I found the perfect solution by having a custom build of a desktop from HB Computers - and I couldn't be happier. Now - with solid state drives I have the equivalent of instant on and blazingly fast access to my drives. Photo and video editing do not suffer any hourglass. As a 40 year career at Intel retiree I appreciated the selection of choices I had in Intel processors...! I was also impressed with the choices of software installations that came with the PC - I didn't have to install Chrome.... :-) MicroSoft Office came free for one year and the ad-blocking proved very convenient. Amir's input on the specs I chose ended up in the perfect solution for me and I had my solution ready for pickup in a few days. Love this place! I'm generally able to solve minor computer issues, but this is my go-to spot for anything beyond my grasp (or when I do something stupid like super-glue my phone's charger into the port...ugh). Karen and Amir are both understanding, honest, and do a great job at explaining what is going on with my computers in a way that a layman can understand. The front desk staff are also stellar! My parent's iMac had a white screen issue and I was at my wits end trying to fix it. Fortunately, they were able to diagnose the problem right as we described it. This issue took maybe a week and a half to fix but they called me several times to update me on the process which I appreciated. Previous experiences I've had there have been even quicker, sometimes just a couple days to fix my hard drive, etc. There's a diagnostic fee but it goes towards the final cost of the service. COVID INFO: They have a large plastic plane separating customers from the desk and shop. It's a small waiting area so you may want to wait outside if another customer is there to maintain 6 ft. rule, but their service is quick and I've never waited for more than 2-3 minutes. Will definitely be returning and recommending this place! For a long time I was nervous about computer repair shops because it can be difficult to determine if you're being charged a fair price when dealing with a services you're not totally familiar with. This team has earned my trust though, and I believe they're committed to providing honest and high quality work at competitive prices. read more

I'm changing to a home-based business and I needed to upgrade the cabling in my house. My business partner called up HB Computers, having worked with them before, to see if they did cable installation. They answered quickly, confirmed that they do what I needed, then got my information to give me a call back to set up an appointment. Within 10 minutes I had an appointment set up for a few days later, to fit into my schedule. When Hamish got there we gave him the plan and he started doing the hard parts - crawling around the attic, pulling cables, putting discreet holes in the closet for the cables to come through. He was super friendly, was totally cool with our input, and got the job done exactly the way we wanted it. He was very professional while being really nice. My little, barky dog decided he loved Hamish and kept going back for pets. Pretty cool, 'cuz Charlotte rarely likes new people right away. Called needing a very straight forward battery replacement for my Macbook. Was told "bring it in, we'll do a quick diagnostic and can let you know next steps". Drove immediately there, arrived 10 minutes later, was told (by the same guy!) "We need $50 and 4-5 days to let you know next steps". I asked him if he remembered talking me 10 minutes prior and could he have told me then the current backlog was 4-5 days. His response was awesome - "it's not our policy to tell you that unless you ask". Absolutely horrible! Drove 3 minutes up the road to "OC Macbook Repair", was in and out in 5 minutes, getting my Macbook back with a new OEM battery tomorrow. Forget these guys and go to OC Macbook Repair! read more

The repair worked in full and I got my pc back. The only thing is that the price was a bit too much for what I was getting. I asked them why so much and the manager said he has a business to run and people to pay, to which I understood completely, and he offered to charge whatever I was comfortable paying.
