This is the second time my family has used HD Hookups and we'll definitely use them again in the future. We recently upgraded one of our TV's so had them out to replace the TV, change TV mount to a different style, along with adding a Sonos Arc sound bar, which also had a mount. I paid a little more to have them calibrate the sound bar because I admit I'm a little challenged with that type of stuff. The techs (Omar and Ezequiel?) arrived on time and had the whole project done in about an hour. They were very friendly, showed me the different features of the remotes and answered any questions I had. Thank you HD Hookups for another great job!!

I'm really happy with the service that was provided. They responded with a quote and within a few days Pablo and Chris was at my house booking up my new TV. I was upgrading my TV to a larger one. They had to move my surround sound speakers to fit this larger tv. They did a great job not making extra holes that would need to painted or patched. They set everything up and made sure I access everything. I would recommend this company. read more

I called around 10am this morning and they said they would call me back to set up an appointment. I got a call back within 30 mins and he said they could be here today between 1-2pm. They showed up at 1:30. That's what I call efficient. Tony and Omar showed up and both were very polite and professional. They had the answers to all the installation and setup questions I asked. I really liked how they physically picked my tv so I could see where I liked it. They hooked up all my components and everything is running smoothly. Needed to mount a 75 inch TV over fireplace using Mantle Mount adjustable brackets. Doug's team came in and new exactly what to do. They kept me apprised of their progress and made sure I was happy with their approach and placement. In the end, the install looked perfect! They made sure everything was working with my Sonos sound bar and walked me through the features of the TV, etc. I would certainly recommend them to friends and family. read more

These guys are the real deal. My contractor didn't want to touch my stacked stone fireplace to hang my tv, so I turned to yelp for who would. The responsiveness from the moment I contacted them was incredible. They were accommodating and honest. Prices were given up front. Don't ask me how they did it-- but they amazingly got our 60" tv up with no problem. Granted-- they did let me know the "possibility of things not going according to plan" but luckily that didn't happen. We are beyond thrilled with how the end result looks. We decided to replace an older TV get an additional TV. Our original TV was integrated with other devices and we wanted to integrate the two new TVs and control them with our iPads. We decided to go with this company because of the great reviews it has. Diego visited our home on August 2, 2020 and after we explained what we wanted, he said that there was no problem as they could do all of it, including the programming. We were in for a huge surprise, after making a hole in the wall for cabling they hooked up the TVs. The second one needed a cable box, which we got immediately from Spectrum. They connected the box tying the cables the way not even a child would do. When we brought this up to Diego, he blamed us for doing this, as if we would be undoing a well-tied cable. The programming never worked because these guys are not professionals and have no idea what they are doing. After coming back three times, the integration did not work and the TVs were doing all kinds of funky things. On top of everything, they wanted to keep charging for programming time. We finally called a professional programmer who was able to fix the problem. We found his name online on the RTI website and he is an authorized and qualified programmer who was reasonable and polite. In summary, don't be impressed by so many positive reviews, these guys are only good to hook up your TVs; don't let them sell you any integration controllers because they CANNOT program them. Additionally, we still have to fix our wall. One of the most frustrating things is that they DO NOT return your phone calls; once they get you and you pay, you are dead to them. read more

I just want to give a shout to to HD Hookups. Doug, Cristian and Paulo were exceptional. We tried Geek Squad, such a big disappointment. Then we found HD Hookups. We needed out TV and surround sound re connected after a small remodel job. Doug was responsive, listened to what we needed and immediately set up service call. Paulo and Cristian were so professional and had us up in running in no time. They explained what they were doing every step of the way. Will definitely use them again. HD Hook Ups is amazing! They went above and beyond to make my home theater room look exactly how I drew it up. It is a 7.1 surround that includes Front Height speakers and after I clean this up no wires will be seen at all - since they used a nice installation internal and external to the house for the other speakers. they also put in ceiling speakers I purchased for the rear surround. Just know that they are friendly, professional and have very reasonable pricing. I absolutely recommend Diego and the HD HookUp crew. read more

WOW! This experience was a 5 all the way! Received a phone call from Diego on Friday at 5:00pm and by 10:00am Saturday, Tony and Omar were at my doorstep. I needed two TV's installed and the work was done quick clean! An extremely professional team of Tony and Omar. They answered all questions we had regarding our installation and were as courteous and polite as they could possibly be! If you have a tv or media to install, these are your guys...so professional, so thorough and got the job done fast! Six years ago I gave HD Hookups a 5-star review. They did a great job of improving my built-in speaker system. Now, I have experienced a couple of failures in the Denon receiver. Omar, who was here 6 years ago, came to fix it. We both pretty quickly agreed a new AVR was warranted. Today, he installed a Yamaha RX-A2A AVR, at a reasonable price. He wired the three devices directly to the TV and the sound from the TV on an optical cable to the DVR. This allows me to receive full video capability (including DOLBY VISION...WOW!) The audio is fully controlled (2 zones) by the Yamaha AVR. My Home Theater has never been more "stunning" both in picture and sound! Thank you Omar. I say, once again, don't do it yourself! There were great! They mounted my TV without and problem and it's exactly what I wanted. When they ran into a problem, due to the construction of the home, they knew just what to do, had a plan, and got it mounted perfectly. Prior to my install I bought a TV, corner mount and HDMI Cables, pre labeled the cable ends with which device it was connecting to. They were on time and after a quick meeting about positioning and height had the tv up and cables routed in the wall. I'm pretty good with technology so I didn't ask, need or really want them connecting and setting everything up for me, but I have no doubt based on their professionalism that if I needed a deeper level of expertise it would've been provided. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

These guys came out to my house to install a 75" with Sonos Arc and Sub. On time, super helpful, educated me on the Sonos app, hooked it all up and updated software, gave me advice on which mount to use as I didn't really know (and had it on them), and their prices for Sonos were cheaper than online. Loved their service so much I had them install the old TV in my home gym with a Sonos Beam and Sub. Super quick, professional, and perfectionists. Thanks guys!!! read more

Had an excellent experience with HD Hookups. We had a somewhat complicated job in our media room, changing the locations of the retractable screen and projector, re-installing surround/atmos speakers and pulling audio/video cables. While there was attic access, it was constrained. Doug reviewed the job, discussed a quote and then Tony and Cesar were the techs who executed. Both were excellent and came up with creative routing and mounting solutions. Would highly recommend and will plan to use them again. read more

Tony and Omar did an absolutely amazing job. They are both polite, courteous and professional. They showed up right on time and got the job completed the same day. I had them mount a TV and the speakers for a 5.1 surround system. Having a surround system installed is not an easy job, it requires crawling around in a small and hot attic and the precision to get the wires through the walls to the exact location where the speakers are to be mounted. When looking for a company to mount your TV or surround sound system keep in mind that whoever you choose will most likely be cutting holes in your drywall, crawling around in your attic and doing some minor surgery on your house. Make sure you choose a company that knows what they are doing. I can't say enough good things about HD Hookups. I will definitely be using them for any other wiring projects I might have in the future. read more

This is a quality company, with excellent customer service. After completing an online inquiry, I was contacted by Diego (he left a voicemail and he emailed me too). After a couple of days playing phone tag (they use an answering service, which is my only criticism [and that's only because I'm personally not keen on speaking with people not associated with a company]), we eventually chatted and discussed my installation needs. We scheduled a date ( a mere few days later), between 12 and 1pm, and I was told that I would get a call when the technicians were on their way. As planned, I got the call, which was to let me know that they were running a little late, due to their current install taking a little longer than anticipated. No problem, I fully understand that these things happen and I'd certainly want my technicians to take their time and do the job correctly on my install, so I was more than happy with the situation. So, a little later, they called me again to let me know that they were now less than 15 minutes away. 8 minutes later, the 2 techs arrived. They introduced themselves, shook my hand and immediately placed "booties" over their feet, to protect my floors, before they entered. They came in, we briefly discussed the install (2 rooms) and they immediately got to work. They worked very quietly, efficiently and cleanly, and throughout the whole process they asked me questions, having me approve of positioning of equipment, etc., to ascertain my satisfaction. I was very impressed, to say the least, when, all too often nowadays, customer service can be sub par. I should also mention that all of my AV equipment was brand new and fully boxed, and these guys had no issue with unpacking everything, as well as dismantling any existing systems.These types of install can and do take some time, several hours in the case of an install like mine. Time = money and I feel that, time considered and the professionalism of the techs and their install, the price paid was very fair and reasonable (especially, if you're like me, and are clueless and useless when it comes to potential DIY projects, such as this). I would highly recommend HD Hookups and urge you to seriously consider these professionals next time you require any type of AV installation. Thank you HD Hookups!! read more

I forgot to write a review for this company so here it is. This company is the worst company to deal with for these sole reasons: 1) Claims to be licensed, but is licensed in low voltage (C-7 Low Voltage License). That means he should not be touching any power outlets or extending any. He pretended to use this sales pitch on me. In reality he isn't licensed to do this. A C-7 License allows him to work with energy limited and does not exceed 91 volts. A house outlet is 120 volts. So if he extends your power outlet he is in violation and is not licensed to do so. His license only grants him the power to extend cable wires. These jobs don't require license if done correctly, but to use this as a sales pitch and pretend you are licensed to do so. You can lose your license and your lucky I don't report you. 2) Not professional with reservation time, the company forgot I even booked a reservation. 3) Hidden costs that adds up because he charges for every little thing not mentioned. 4) The guy stayed late because he was slow, and charged me for the extra time he stayed even though its his fault for being VERY slow. 5) What he quotes on the phone isn't the final price after the work is done. 6) He pretends to have more staff but in reality he is the only worker that comes tot he site, that's why he is slow. 7) Obviously he doesn't care about repeat customers so that's why he hikes the price on you. 8) If you have the same amount of filtered reviews (scroll down on his Yelp place page to see his filtered reviews that are fabricated by himself) compared to real reviews on yelp, that means your reviews are from friends or fabricated yourself. 9) There are other companies that do the same job without all the hidden cost. Besides electronics stores, he is the most expensive in town, call around and see for yourself. All independent companies charge close to half his rate. Final thoughts: I would do my research on this guy if I were to use him. For me I would never bind myself to slow price hiking companies. read more

From the very beginning I was impressed with the treatment given by Diego. He was very good at communicating and always returned phone calls and emails in a very timely manner. On the day of install Diego and Lance showed up right on time and made sure to go over the job before starting to make sure all my needs were satisfied. In the beginning I found that the wiring in my house was set up for the speakers to be far apart compared to where I have my TV set up. This was no problem for Lance. He was able to run the wire to a different location so the speaker could be installed correctly. I also had speakers installed in my garage and backyard. Everything was done very clean and tight ( no sagging wires ). I was very impressed with how professional and knowledgeable Lance was through the entire process. He really showed that his main concern was that my system turn out the way that I had envisioned it from the start, and it did! I am very pleased with my new set up and I would highly recommend this company and if I ever need any other work done I have no need to look anyone else up because I have already found the best! Very happy with the installation of my TV! Lance was my installer. He was fantastic. I had the TV mounted over the fireplace. My concern was wires showing! I did not want to see anything coming down from behind the TV or down the wall, etc...I rent my place and was going back and forth as to whether or not I should go to the extent routing the wires through the wall- I was really that adamant. The fact that I rent, really made me consider the alternative- not going through the wall and concealing wires as much as possible. Well the results were great! We hung the TV so it meets the top of the sound bar.... I absolutely do not see any wires! The TV looks great. Lance was very knowledgeable, efficient, and pleasant. This company was referred to us by a friend. My initial phone call with Diego was A-OK, as it relates to friendliness and ample knowledge of the process, but I'd have to say that integrity is what wins me over with a business and I found some lacking! Particularly, about the cost and manufacturer of the TV mount. I had done pre-homework and per the info he provided post homework was necessary and ultimately this determined lack of integrity in my opinion! My experiece was wonderful with HD Hookups. They did a great job! The work was done quickly, and as scheduled. I was given a 1 hour window for my appointment, which is better than the 4 hour windows you get with other companies. I also received a phone call when the installer was on his way. He walked me through what he was going to do prior to getting started, and then completed the job as discussed. The price was reasonable, especaially considering the quality of the work. The price was not determined by the amount of time it took. Which is great, I would rather he take the time need to do the job right and not rush through. HD hook ups came out and installed a 4K TV onto my brick fireplace, this is after hiring the geek squad that never showed up. I called 1 day n advance, and they ame within 24 hours.I would recommend this company to everyone. They came ready for anything. I did not have a long enough HDMI cord, they had one. I did not have an extension cord, they had one. The two guys that came out to hook my TV up was Tony and Omar. Oh and the prices are wonderful. The Geek Squad wanted to charge me almost $500.00 to hook up the TV. This company only charged $250.00, and that included the HDMI cord and extension cord. Spoke with Diego about 8:30am on Saturday morning. He got Omar and Tony to come out to mount my new 65 in Samsung HDTV at noon on the same day. They showed up hour and half late, but they were super quick. Got the TV up in 30 minutes. The price was reasonable. About $300 to hide the wires inside the wall, put up the metal bracket, and install a new outlet. They even help move my dresser to under the TV, hooked up all the components, and made sure everything worked before they left. They offered $20 off if I submit a Yelp review. I forgot I had an account. Otherwise, it would have been $280. Would definitely use these guys again. read more

HD Hookups sent their technician Tony to our house to do an in-wall TV, DVR and DVD player installation in our bedroom. Ours is an old house, so as the work progressed Tony was faced with construction issues that made pulling the wires and cable signal through the wall very difficult. Where other people would have given up and said "not possible", Tony dug in and made it all work. He worked for 4 hours straight without a complaint on a job that normally should have taken 2 hours. When he was done, everything was perfect. HD Hookups is not cheap... but you get what you pay for. We are very happy with the way the job was done. read more

We had a 50" flat screen mounted over our fireplace. We knew it was not going to be an easy job or maybe even impossible with our old fireplace. Glad to say we were very happy with our experience. Bought the tv on a Friday and called HD Hookups and got an appointment for the next day. Great prices for both install and equipment (mount, cables,etc). We had Lance come out & he was on time, very personable and skilled. He figured out how to get it done and the result was a clean install with concealed wires. It looks great. I used HD Hookups Service in the past down on San Diego. But my parents live in Orange County and I receive an email with the news that they were going to open a new location over there. I contact the customer service and purchase a installation for my folks as a gift(great sonny!). I was not there to oversee the installation, but my mom told me that Erick(the installer) was courteous(my mom is so polite) and real professional. HD hookup guy came to do over the fireplace TV installation plus hiding the wires. I told him about adding provision for the hiding HDMI cable for DVD player as well. However, when i came to look at the end, he forgot to add HDMI cable and finished the job. I reminded him about DVD player, and he then attached vertically the DVD player on the back of the TV. Guess what, in few days, dvd got stuck and ruined our 3D Blu-ray player. When I called them for fixing this mess, they took down the things, but nothing happened. Worst service ever. I called HD Hookups to install two TVs after I found out that they were about $50-100 cheaper per TV than any other installer. Mike and Justin installed a 55" LED over a fireplace and a 40" LCD in a bedroom. They worked cleanly and quickly. I appreciated that they brought their own vacuum to clean up after themselves. They also bundled all the wires together for a clean look. Mike and Justin seemed very knowledgeable and offered suggestions that I hadn't thought of. Omar from HD Hookups came over to my house in Encinitas. He did a wonderful job installing my new 55" Samsung TV AND Yamaha Bar Sound. Everything was installed to perfection. All wires where installed inside the wall. Omar also assisted me with moving a "new" console underneath the TV setup to make everything complete. All the work was done very professionally. But they only handled Elan and I wanted to go to Control 4. I interviewed 4 companies and Javier was the only one to point out that we had Cat 3 cable and to get the highest speeds we needed to go to Cat6, which would require some rewiring. Also, other companies me told that I needed an equipment rack to straighten out the cable mess in my cabinet. Javier said he could take care of that without a rack. This would be a cost saving of about $2000! I found the following to be very positive about Javier and the team he works with: 1) Always available (I've contacted him early in the AM and late at 9pm and he always answered promptly, courteously, and knowledgeably. 2) He bid what was needed and got me the best prices possible 3) He was on time and on budget 4) He left the job site clean 5) Everything worked! 6) His bid was half of what my prior vendor bid for a system that provides everything we need and more. 7) Before Javier, we never got more than 200Mbps even though we paid for gigabit service. With Javier's upgrade we now get over 900MBPS everywhere in the house. I include a before and after picture so you can see his handiwork. There was an Amp and AVR in an adjacent cabinet that he was able to consolidate into the one neat setup where everything can be accessed easily. I highly recommend Javier, Alan and Mike for your AV needs. I'll definitely use them again.

Digit-All installed a commercial-grade Ubiquity network that works flawlessly and exceeded my expectations. After that, they mounted our TVs perfectly and set up a 5.1 home theater system in our family room. To do this, they had to run new cables and redo a lot of the substandard wiring that previous owners had done. Bottom line: I can't say enough good things about Digit-All Home Solutions. The problem started when Ameritechs installed 10 cameras on my home camera system and did not…read morerecord the passwords or give them to me. I don't know anything about cameras and passwords so I didn't know to ask. When it came time to change the NVR, I was told they don't have the passwords and will charge me $750 to retrieve them from the cameras. I shouldn't have to pay for something they should have provided in the first place. Chris came over for $50 and examined the cameras, the analog ones that needed to be replaced, and suggested a new NVR. I got an estimate for $3030 to replace 3 cameras and the NVR and reconnect existing cameras to NVR. Without NVR it was $2130. There were no details about specs for the cameras or NVR. That's like sending a customer an invoice for $30,000 for "a car." People generally want a little more detail about what they're getting. I asked that they first just come out to retrieve the passwords for the 10 cameras, fix camera #7 that stopped working, and fix a screw that their tech stripped when he installed that camera. They said they wanted $750 to retrieve the passwords. They also wanted to charge $129 for someone to come out again and look at the cameras again, when I just paid $50 for Chris to look at them. And I maintain that I should not have to pay for something that they should have provided to begin with. I asked how many TB was in the Uniview NVR as the estimate didn't specify. The first time I was told it "supported storage" of 16TB to 32TB. Next email said the NVR comes pre-installed with 4TB storage. Next email said the NVR on the estimate does not come with any storage - they planned to reuse the old hard drives from my existing NVR - but no one ever asked me about that. Those drives were at least 5 years old and at end of life. If I wanted new hard drives, it would be an extra charge. I asked if cameras were 4K (the estimate only says 4MP). Finally, was told they would be 2K at $140 each. I asked about the warranty for the equipment. They said it's manufacturer warranty, not theirs, but didn't know and never said what it was. Isn't that something that every buyer wants to know? What is the warranty! Next estimate added $200 to reset the camera #7 that was not working, plus $750 to reset the other 10 cameras so I would have the passwords plus the $3030 for 3 new cameras and NVR - so $4624. And that probably didn't include any hard drive for the NVR as they were going to reuse my old ones. I got a lot of other confusing emails from Kanani interjecting things we never discussed like suddenly asking me if I wanted a hybrid DVR. I don't need a hybrid DVR. Then Kanani thought I wanted Uniview cameras. I never said that. Every time I asked a question, I got a different answer. Every time, the price got higher or didn't include some component that would be extra. I had another company come out to try and reset the camera passwords. He said that brand of camera TVT (Shenzhen TVT Digital Technology Co., Ltd) is difficult and takes 45 minutes to reset the password for each camera and get it onto the Avalonix XVR (which is why Ameritechs didn't want to do it either). He said it would be cheaper to replace the cameras with new 8K cameras. So, the 10 cameras that I just paid Ameritechs $4,439 to install in the past two years are now worthless. That doesn't seem like good customer service. I feel I was taken advantage of - I'm a senior citizen now and a woman alone and always a target to be ripped off because I don't know what I don't know. I think we might end up in small claims court because I really got screwed over. I don't have energy for it but some things you can't let stand.
