I don't give out 5 stars arbitrarily. I got a pedicure from Mia and it was great. And to be fair, I am admittedly picky about my toes and nails. She was friendly and did exactly what I asked for. She was efficient but I did not feel like she rushed. That is a pet peeve of mine is when the nail tech rushes because walk-ins are coming in and your nails suffer because of it. HD nails is super close to my apartment and I've probably been 4-5 times in the last few years. 1) Although they take walk-ins (their front door even says walk-ins welcome), I'd call first to make an appointment. I stopped in once assuming I could get in, and they had no appointments until the following day. I've also seen others walk in, and immediately walk out (sometimes in a huff) because they can't be taken care of immediately. 2) They have a punch/rewards card. I keep losing mine so I'm not sure what the benefits are! 3) Prices are affordable: $25 for a basic pedi, a bit more for a deep scrub pedi. Check their site for prices. 4) Bring a book or magazine bc getting a network connection here is iffy. I'm on Verizon and in the front of the store I get 2 bars, at the pedicure chairs 1 bar. Or I guess you could daydream or meditate or talk to the person next to you. 5) You can bring your own nail color if you'd like. Most of their color selection is vintage opi. At my previous pedi I got a bright orange color and the tech tried to return the bottle to me, thinking it was mine; maybe someone left it behind from a previous appointment. Gel nail colors are separate and you can find those at the nail desks. I'd say their service can be uneven depending on the tech. I got talked into a gel manicure over a year ago and I will never do it again - I chose a bright blue color which was almost empty but didn't notice until the tech was halfway through - it left obvious streaky marks that stayed with me for quite a while. Gel manicures can be rough to remove as well and it took a while for my nails to recover from that. Never again for me, but I know some others like it. Yesterday I had a pedicure by an older gentleman and at first I felt a bit skeptical but he did a great job! My last pedi was rough - I actually cringed in pain a few times but then again my feet turn into hooves over the summer from wearing sandals and flip flops - but I will always return because they are affordable, close, and the techs are friendly. read more

I tried this place for my first time. It was okay. The staff was nice and the lady who did my pedicure did a really good massage. My nails in the end turned out good. I was more disappointed with the professionalism though. They would be on their phones a lot and one of them sat down in the chair next to me and started eating food. Also, the light they used to cure my nails looked dirty...they clearly don't wipe it down after every use. read more

On vaca to see family. Went to have a mani and pedi. I wish I would not have chosen this place. The pedi was short and not great, not even a scrub after the slight cleaning up of the cuticles. Polish job was shabby. The manicure wa was worse. I had a previous dipped manicure and because the polish did not come off all the way using the acetone, she used the trimmers to remove it and barely touched my cuticles and dry skin. The polish I chose was light, almost a white. The streaks were awful. I told her I was not happy ( because they looked like a four year old polished them). Then the manager of the place took over but to my dismay she was not any better. When I asked her to clean up the polish on the sides of my nails and cuticles, she took the clippers. I asked her to use the brush and she said it would mess-up the polish. It was already bad. She cut 2 of my cuticles and they bled. Don't go to this shop. They only like the regulars. I was referred to HD Nails by my BFF because she said Henry is great. I got an appointment for a pedicure and the pedicurist was VERY SICK. I should have walked right out and left. She was not wearing a mask. Well, now, about 36 hours later, I am sick and getting ready for a vacation later this week! I am so angry with myself for not walking out. This pedicurist should not have worked that day and I have empathy because she probably needs the money but now she has ruined by pre-vacation time and possible into my vacation as I stay sick for quite a while. Went in for tips and was very pleased with the service! Henry was my nail tech, and he was very professional. Very meticulous about shaping and making them look as natural as possible. Went with the classic french and love the way my nails came out. The rest of the staff was very nice and fairly professional, although Henry took a couple short calls while working on my nails. The facility is very clean and has a very relaxing atmosphere. Prices are so reasonable, and service is perfect. I definitely recommend going here! read more

As my schedule has gotten busier, I've become a devotee of Shellac manicures, and have been visiting HD Nails more often than during pedicure season in order to get them. I still won't go anywhere else! They've always got the newest colors and products (including an amazing powdered glittery-type "color" that just uses a Shellac clear top coat that I got dozens of compliments on and that lasted three weeks), and everyone there does a great job and is always friendly! I've been looking for a great nail salon near me. I saw this place and the great reviews so thought I'd give it a try. It was 2pm on a Saturday and I didn't have an appointment. I get there and initially they say they don't have time but then the girl looks at the schedule and says they can fit me in. Despite being fit in as a wlk in, I didn't feel rushed at all! I walked in on 3 May for a pedicure and was informed they were too busy to serve me. I made an appointment for 4 may at 1:30pm. I checked in at 1:25pm and noticed there were 3 people working, and all were busy. There was a lady and her mom waiting for a manicure. As I waited and a lady and her granddaughter walked in wanting a pedicure. The other 2 ladies waiting were taken to get their manicures and the granddaughter was taken to get her pedicure before me. I told the owner I had an appointment and she said she would do the granddaughter real quick. I waited patiently for my appointment time, but it was not a priority for them and I will never return to this salon. read more

My new go-to nail place. I've been twice and pleased both times. Very nice nail techs who took time to do exactly what I asked (I like my toe nails trimmed shorter, and some places don't listen and actually cut nails back). Mint pedi scrub was very refreshing. We waited a bit as they apparently had a rush right before we got there (even though we had appointments), and they apologized profusely and gave us deluxe pedi for regular pedi price due to not being able to start appointmentson time (which was really nice because we only waited about 10-15 minutes with feet in water, which was relaxing anyway). Let's start off by saying I was recommended to this place so I decided I would try it out. I called and made an appointment before I went in because I understand walk ins are annoying and hard to fit in. Once I got there I was immediately turned away at the door because "they didn't have time". When I explained I called ahead I was told they didn't know what to tell me.
