I love this space. Not gonna lie, my favorite coffeeshop is the original Gladstone location, but this one has a different kind of charm. It's bigger, brighter, and more modern without losing that "come in, we're roasting your coffee" kind of feel, smell, and familiarity. Being surrounded by places to eat and shop, it's a great space to take a break or even go work for a while. Greeted as soon as the door opened -- friendly, quick, and super attentive service. It was great to be able to use the patio since the weather was nice enough. Perfect spot to hang out and meet up with friends. Coffee on point as always, and that spring menu is great! This place is great! They have a really good-size selection of coffees and pastries, and everything tasted delicious. I was very happy with my Banana Crème Pie Latte (seasonal) and my daughter devoured her poptart. We're so excited to go back and try all their other offerings. The employees were even nice enough to add another pump or two of syrup to my husband's coffee because he wanted it a bit sweeter. We highly recommend! read more

Talk about a hidden gem! I got really excited looking over their menu. Lots of interesting offerings to chose from:lattes, smoothies, matcha, teas, seasonal drinks and long list of syrups! You guessed right, Caramel Rush... caramel and butter pecan, double shot with light ice, 20 oz. In all my excitement over the menu, I forgot to ask about milk alternatives. My tummy let me know about it. At first taste, I couldn't tell there was any espresso, should asked for another shot of espresso. I couldn't really taste any CARAMEL FLAVOR either. So it doesn't seem like the ratio was considered based on the size of the drink I ordered. All I could taste was milk with butter pecan and a hint of caramel flavor. Stopped by to get some work done and this was a great place to do so. Ordered the Christmas Cookie Latte and it was soo sweet and delicious. If you love Biscoff, this is definitely the drink for you. I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. I'm glad I did cause it was a pleasant find. The coffee is good and they have some good selections on the menu. Coffee: The coffee (Carmel Latte) was good but nothing special. I do want to try more of the other drinks though! Inside: The atmosphere was cute and quiet. So if you're trying to work this is a good spot to do so. However, I believe they can clean up the space a bit more cause the furniture was a little worn out and the floor was dirty. Owners Eric and Nancy were two of the most gracious and knowledgeable coffee shop owners that I've ever met and I'm eager to support them going forward. I learned so much from Eric's coffee presentation and even more from Nancy's passion for tea. Lot's of great samples, but the Chai and the Hojicha latte were life changing, or at least life confirming. A beautiful autumn morning next to the scenic patio fire pit sampling some amazing beverages from passionate people that know the industry. First off, I mainly visit for the beauty of the space here. The tranquility today was exceptional with the classic music playing in the background, so I totally loved it. What more could make this better but a tasty drink? This was not going to happen here. The off-putting begins with the smell of burnt coffee. You know the smell, when it burns and crusts at the bottom of a carafe or decanter. I've known to abstain from purchasing drip coffee here because the smell is just how it tastes. I would check how they brew their coffee because I have purchased their roasted beans before, ground them and have had pretty good coffee. In fact, I came here today hoping to pick up some of their Christmas blend beans, which I really enjoyed last year. Unfortunately, they didn't have any left. So, since I was here I knew I needed to try something else. I had tried their mochas here and they were something akin to weak hot chocolate milk. No thanks! I was smart and purchased their smallest, an 8 oz caramel macchiato. It was a good thing too because I could taste the synthetic taste of caramel syrup and their espresso shot? It tasted burnt. Perhaps the key here is part of the coffee shop's name with "rush" in it because you can't rush perfection. read more

I keep giving Headrush another chance and each time I am disappointed. Every time I try a latte the espresso is burnt, and there is never much more flavor. I would so love to enjoy the fun seasonal drinks they advertise but I am always weary considering they cannot seem to get the drinks on the permanent menu right. I saw a sign that they were doing lemonades as well as sandwiches this summer, so I thought I'd give that a try since it seemed impossible to mess up. I was given a lukewarm drink that tasted like water with a few pumps of Torani strawberry syrup. Awful. The Italian panini was alright, although the paper bag they cooked it in was basically cooked into the sandwich, which left a portion of it inedible. All for $20? Soooo confused how it was that expensive, before tip. I always give a dollar or 2 even though the customer service is pretty bad, I am typically nicer as the customer than the employees here are. They all seem pretty miserable. Really disappointed that I can't keep supporting this small business. read more

In a cute shopping area you will find this coffee gem. As you walk in you are welcomed with the smell of coffee. I love how the smell doesn't smack you the face and overwhelming. They have many options of coffees to choose from. I also love that they have many seasonal flavors as well! I ordered the Christmas Rush blended and it was amazing. It was very smooth and the perfect amount of peppermint. They also offer pastries, which I can't wait to go back to try. I also noticed they have an amazing patio to sit and relax. Got a small hot hazelnut latte and a small iced caramel latte. Both were good. I went in the drive thru, which is great if you can't go inside. The menu is easy to read and there are a lot of options. But the ounces are not listed on the menu outside. So when she handed me the drinks, the small hot latte seemed like an extra small! I looked up the menu later and saw that the hot is 8oz and the iced is 12oz. Might want to add the ounces on the menu outside, especially for people who haven't been there before and didn't know. I needed to find coffee between the airport and where I work which is right before the broadway bridge construction near the downtown airport. I was having a tough time finding something in the north land that wasn't Starbucks and I didn't want to have to go into NKC or the river market. I found Headrush in Briarcliff and was so excited to find a good coffee place that had pastries. They had a lot of yummy looking latte options but I went with the Honey Rush. So good! I could've had 3 of them. I don't know if they do their own baking but their blueberry muffin was perfect. After grabbing my order I also realized they had a drive thru too! I'm so excited to have a local coffee option up north, especially with the bridge construction happening. read more

I am not quite sure how I have never reviewed Headrush before lol. I've been to both locations but this one is definitely my favorite due to it's location. Their customer service is always amazing. I love the exposure of the roaster and the bags of beans all piled up! The canisters of all of their teas are always really cool too. I have had about 4 or 5 different drinks from their menu and every single one has been fantastic! Once I tried the lavender matcha I was hooked! Then I tried it with oat milk and that took it to another level. It's now my go-to when there's not a new/fun seasonal drink to try. I guess it's a good thing that I held off on my review to let you know how they handle things during a pandemic lol. They have been nothing short of awesome and have been very accommodating to their customers! I had never tried this coffee shop and figured I'd stop in before my nail appointment across the street. I purchased an iced caramel macchiato and piece of banana bread. The total came to $9 which I found to be a bargain. The drink was wonderful and not overly sweet. The banana bread was about 2 inches thick, soft, and delicious. The coffee shop itself was darling and would be a wonderful place to meet up with a friend or work on a project. A Headrush is usually what happens when I spontaneously combust with someone particularly attractive. It's also a Coldplay album - "A Headrush Of Blood To The Head." Oh wait. The bubble tea from this expensive outdoor mall in the north burbs of KC was Matcha. They only had 2 options, so I got the more elaborate one. The girl serving it had tattoos and was really attractive. It seems like a really great and fancy place to study. The views of the city from outside the back window are absolutely gorgeous. As is my gf. As for the tea, well I enjoyed it a lot - especially by Midwestern standards. It was watered down, though. It reminded me of the watery ones they serve on weekends in Buffalo at Wok and Roll. The bubbles (tapioca pearls, boba, whatever you want to call them - not technically bubbles nor why bubble tea is named bubble tea, but everyone says they're bubbles so) here were really good and I got the feeling it was a good quality drink. The only really bad thing is the price. I could not believe I was paying over $6 for bubble tea. Are you serious? Still, at least it was a really good one. And if I'm going to be charged over $6 for a Bubble Tea let it at least be good. If it was $4 like it should be, they'd score 5 stars. I live in the neighborhood so this is convenient for me to stop in. However, every time I do, I regret it. The coffee is always good but the experience always leaves me disappointed. This morning it took nearly 30 minutes to get two drip coffees in the drive thru. There were two cars in front of me and each got two drinks. They weren't busy so even if staffing was an issue the lengthy time makes little sense. The customer service here is inconsistent too. Today the guy at the window was condescending and had zero sense of urgency. I love supporting local but these guys are making it very unsatisfying to do so. read more
