Amazing community hub and owners! When I walked in on a chilly Saturday morning, a father-son duo were serving up love and caffeine. I ordered a hot large Red velvet latte and egg and pesto sandwich which they heated up for me. It was filling and delicious. The coffee was brewed well and wasn't overly sweet. I love the atmosphere and decor, it's very homey, cozy, and warm. Nice location downtown. It had a steady stream of people coming in, ordering, and taking their orders to-go. Stopped at this coffee shop since it had good reviews and it was close to the hotel we were staying at. We immediately were greeted upon walking in and felt welcomed right away. There were two gentlemen working that were both helpful and kind. We ordered their dolce du lèche drink iced and we both really enjoyed it. We also split a strawberry pop tart that was so so yummy and fresh. The place is so cute and has a great environment to sit and enjoy a coffee by yourself or with some company. If you're able to bring it home and pop it in the toaster oven even better otherwise they are served as is. This was my first time going to this establishment. The cafe is conveniently located next to the UPS store in downtown. It's a cute local store that offers coffee, tea and different snacks. In general, the owner was incredibly nice and went above and beyond to get me some tea. I ordered a peppermint tea, empanada and quiche. It cost $13 and then there was an additional tip that could be added. The cafe offers a quiet, peaceful atmosphere to do work or relax from the day. It's locally owned and the owners have a great sense of humor (look at the sign). The service was excellent and she even heated my food without me asking her to. The quiche was okay and it definitely needed more salt. The same could be said about the tea which lacked flavor. However, the empanada was very flavorful and I definitely would buy more. Overall, I would like to try out their coffees so that I can give a more well rounded review next time! read more

Found Revocup when I went to drop off a package at UPS and saw it next door. Such a cute, quiet coffee spot on the edge of the city and is a small business owner shop. The vibe inside is very home-y and not sterile/commercial like your typical city coffee shop. No computers or people studying, just people enjoying coffee and small bites. The smooth jazz was very relaxing and there was so much seating available. The workers were very nice and everything came out quickly. I love a good surprise; and finding Revocup was just that! According to Yelp reviews, this space has been open for over 2 years, but I had no idea they were there until yesterday morning when I was cutting across some side streets in the NE corner of the loop. I circled around the block found a meter and deposited my only change. The two nickels allowed me 6 minutes to run in, order a 6 oz. Ethiopian Macchiato, drool over the pastry selections, and check out the vibe. While waiting, I was drawn into a friendly debate with an elderly lady that appeared she might be homeless. While she was enjoying her cup of drip, she tried to convince me that we were in the worst city in America. I politely rebuffed her argument and silently realized that this entire 6 minute experience is why KC is one of the greatest cities in America. A cool little coffee scene, diversity, overt friendliness and cheap parking! I'm eager to return to my new favorite downtown coffee shop for a repeat of the best macchiato ever and hope I run into my lady friend just so I can buy her a cup of her favorite drip and maybe help to persuade her what a great place we call home. Didn't see it in the reviews, but their Ethiopian Macchiato is perfect. Only lightly sweet, full bodied espresso really comes out, and their dish ware is very handsome. I am a career barista and lifelong coffee geek. Let me tell you, this place has some of the best espresso in Kansas City. It's a little unique. I don't know exactly what's in it, but to me it tastes like an Ethiopia-Brazil blend with maybe some other stuff mixed in there. Sooo tasty. (Real talk, they don't always keep the drip coffee very fresh. But if that's what you want, order an americano instead and you will not be disappointed because their espresso is just that good.)
