If you're looking for headshots, look no further. Affordable, friendly, fast, and professional. I was looking for an affordable photographer to help me get my headshot situation squared away for work. I looked at other places and it was double/triple what Alan charged. I'm starting out in my career so that was greatly appreciated. Location: Alan is able to pass on affordability because he has an at-home studio. His set-up is professional and he offers different scenic backdrops if needed. Payment: I think cash is king for small businesses. Need headshots and need them back fast? Alan is the guy to go to! He responds very quickly to an inquiry and provides all the photos he took very quickly. Once you tell him your 30 favorite pictures.. he will return them back to you within 24 hours if not faster! I personally hate taking pictures but Alan makes the process easy, relaxing and fun. I absolutely hate taking photos... I'm awkward, I don't know how to pose or how to act. However, as a grad student with a pending LinkedIn account, I knew I needed my headshots done one way or another. Alan helped me feel at ease from start to end. Alan was such a nice guy. I contacted him through Yelp, and we scheduled a photo session. My profile photo in the corporate directory was old and not professionally done. I needed some glamour shots! Alan took studio photos and some outside ones. I'm really awkward in front of a camera, but he made it feel pretty natural. I got a ton of photos sent to me. From that, I picked my favorites for him to clean up before getting my final set. Very easy and nicely done. read more

Looking for heashots? You found the best out there! The whole process was very quick and pleasant. I've never needed to take a headshot for work before, but the time has come. Alan was so professional and was such a pleasure to work with. I don't know why there are so many 5 star reviews for this photographer. This was for headshots appropriate for work. First of all, the session was in his home. My house is cleaner than this for just expecting my best friends to visit. The A/C was not on even though it was almost 90 degrees that day. He offered to turn it on later but only after I said it was hot and I was visibly sweaty. The pictures are not flattering. No effort was made to adjust lighting for the shots in the house. I was facing the sunlight and was forced to squint. I'm well aware that I'm fat but he somehow managed to make me look 40 pounds heavier... not a look I was going for. And I'm not one to lie to myself about how I look. Retouched shots did nothing for flyaway hairs or anything else really. I'm very disappointed in the experience as well as the final product. Based on my experience, I'd guess that this is a beginner with a nice camera just taking pictures and leaning on photo software to make adjustments. I had work headshots taken years ago at a professional location and there was a lot more effort in adjusting lighting and angles. This whole experience felt sloppy in comparison. read more

Alan is AMAZING! Super professional and helpful. He made me feel so at ease and comfortable that it definitely shows in my pictures. I am using my headshots for casting and after searching the internet for a good photographer, I came upon Headshots Plus, an absolute gem! Alan was super responsive when I had questions about the shoot and he quoted a very reasonable price for the time and effort he puts into his session with you. He did the shoot both indoor and outdoor with multiple backdrops to get the best lighting. Usually this process costs extra but Alan included it in his price! Best of all, he knew my angles really well and knew how to coach me to get the best lighting and pictures. The shoot: I arrived at his in home studio that was fully set up for the shoot. Lights, camera, ACTION! We started with some indoor shots with his great backgrounds and then proceeded to nature shots (I do best in natural lighting so I was very excited!). He had multiple areas preselected that look great for backgrounds in headshots. The light, as well, was perfect in the locations (not too many shadows and a good glow). You can definitely tell that he knows how to shoot outdoors. When the shoot was done, I sat down with him and looked through the shots to pick the ones I liked the best which was very hard because all of them were well done. Look no further! Alan is THE person to contact for headshots. I am absolutely in love with my photos. How my process went: I first messaged Alan to receive a quote which he then said was a standard $100. It was my first time taking professional headshots so walking into it, I admit I was pretty nervous. But boy did Alan put me at ease! Alan asked questions about why I needed headshots to which I responded it was for a program. You know how in life you tend to have multiple short conversations that are generally bland? This was not it. I was happy to share and talk to Alan about my interests because he showed an honest attentiveness. All my worries and nervousness floated away as Alan provided positive and encouraging feedback. After our photo session, Alan sent me all 179 photos and asked me to select 30 of my favorites. Alan then generously offered to provide 20 of his favorite selections as he had an eye for these sorts of things. In total, I received 50 photos, edited and perfected (my dating profiles are going to improve so much lol)! Other notes: - During covid times, Alan took the precautions of keeping his mask on and maintaining a distance from me (very much appreciated). - I did tip because the enter experience went better than expected (as did the photos). read more

Fast, professional and funny. I had some headshots taken by Alan and he did a fantastic job. The session took around 20 minutes total and we ended up with 170 pictures. I am so grateful that I found Alan through Yelp. I love my pictures and I got a good variety of different poses and backgrounds that I can use for different purposes. I will definitely go to Alan again the next time I need new headshots. I highly recommend him! In general, I hate getting my picture taken and I feel extremely uncomfortable in front of the camera. What is great about Alan is that he has great energy, is extremely patient, and did everything he could to make me feel at ease. He really cares that you are getting the best headshots possible, and he knows how to direct you in order to achieve this goal. This is just a reflection of the consummate professional that Alan is. He's easy to get a hold of via phone and he's incredibly responsive by text. If he says that he is going to do something (email you photos by a certain date or text you his address), you can count on the fact that he WILL follow through. I read through a lot of his reviews and to clear a few things up based off of what I read: - Alan does live in Alhambra. I don't feel like he was deceptive about it at all. He was up front about it and very transparent about his pricing - The location is at his home. On a side note, as a single girl, I'm very cautious about putting myself in situations where I may not feel safe. With Alan, I didn't feel unsafe and there definitely was not a "creep" vibe from Alan. Also, we spent very little time inside his apartment (shooting against a wall) and spent the majority of time shooting outside. - Alan is very nice and super professional. I never felt anything but kindness from him. I know another reviewer said he was passive aggressive and sarcastic but I can say that I did not feel like he behaved that way with me, and I don't have any complaints about the way he treated me or spoke to me. read more

I was in need of some professional headshots and luckily, I was able to find Alan. He was very responsive, understanding, nice, funny (which helped a lot to get me to smile in the pictures), and professional. If you need your headshots done then Alan is your guy! He is very efficient, quick and reasonably priced. He went through all the poses with 3 different backgrounds(one indoor-grey and 2 outdoor) in roughly half an hour. His turnaround time was quick. I got all photos sent to me in 3 hours of it being clicked, and 30 pics which I chose to be touched up was sent back to me the next day. Also, he makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed when clicking the pictures. I was blown away by the end result. Will definitely recommend him! read more

Alan is amazing! I was nervous to get headshots for my residency applications, but Alan put me at ease instantly. He showed me samples in various backgrounds and lighting to get a sense of what I liked. Throughout the shooting, he joked around and helped me stay relaxed and comfortable, and showed me the pictures as we went along. You will love this guy. I needed to get my head shots taken and retouched at a reasonable price/quickly for new business cards. I came to Alan to get a couple of headshots for my employer's website and LinkedIn. I rarely do any reviews, but Alan's above and beyond customer service compelled me to write one. His services are a bargain for the value provided. I won't specify the total photos taken because the photoshoot time will depend on Alan's and your availability and agreement. Rest assured, there will be more than enough photos for you to use if you are only looking for a few quality photos. The second thing that jumped out to me was Alan's friendliness. He got me feeling comfortable and relaxed early in the photoshoot, which helped me pose for some great shots later on. Finally, Alan was a hospitable host, providing toiletries and amenities. My hair became undone from the wind on my way to the photo shoot, and he gave me some gel to fix it. You will love Alan! I needed professional photos taken to use on a variety of important platforms. A good friend had her photos taken by Alan - I loved her photos, saw the yelp reviews, and decided to go for it. My schedule is very restricted, but he somehow was able to work with me. I came with my girlfriend to have her headshots done by Headshots Plus. Alan was so friendly and just a very normal guy. No creepy vibes like I've gotten from other photographers we've been to in the past. Alan took great indoor and outdoor shots in front of multiple backgrounds to give my girlfriend a nice variety of pictures to choose from. The final edited pictures were received promptly and came out awesome. In addition to getting some great headshots out of this, there was such a nice variety of backgrounds that the pictures would be great for LinkedIn or just for social media profile pictures. I could tell as soon as I spoke to Alan that he was passionate about his work and was a total professional. He was unhurried and took all the time needed to get many photos from a variety of angles. Like many people, I am self-conscious when someone points a camera at me, but Alan made me comfortable and I was able to relax and smile. His upbeat personality and his continuous small talk and chatter distracted me from my nerves. He took more than 200 photos, so I had an abundance to choose from. He touched up the one I picked perfectly and made me look natural, but a few years younger! I received the finished photo within 24 hours and could not be more pleased. Having my professional headshots done with Alan was probably the best decision I've ever made. I was thinking of just taking photos myself but after looking at the results, I could definitely see that this was money well spent. Working with Alan was a very comfortable experience. I am really awkward when I am aware that photos are being taken of me, but Alan made the entire experience very easy and casual. He spent about an hour with me taking over 250 photos, and sat down with me afterwards so that we could review them together. Overall he is an extremely friendly and accommodating guy, and was able to book an appointment with me same day. I called in the afternoon, had the photos shot around 3:30PM, and had 50 (more than promised) delivered to me as promised early next morning. I called Alan to schedule a headshots session for my husband. Since the first time I spoke with him, he was so helpful and kind. He scheduled us right away and was so extremely accommodating. The whole session was so much fun. He was asking us what we thought about certain angles, he did not have to do that. The fact he did that made us feel comfortable with him. It was a very enjoyable session. By the time we got into our car, we all said we would be using him for all our future photo sessions. His price is amazing and the quote he gave us was exactly what he charged us for with no hidden costs. I will be calling him for all future photography needed. We loved his pictures. When we couldn't find a location that would work, she put in the extra effort to photoshop us into a picture that was taken over 20 years ago! The hair and makeup artist was able to follow my vague instructions and helped customized my overall look, including jewelry choices. She also stayed throughout the shoot for touch-ups, and even helped with posing. Sam's knows what angles to shoot and which lighting works. He guided us through the poses and was able to wrap up our shoot earlier than estimated even though I usually find myself very awkward in front of the camera. I also appreciated that they provide all of the digital files, including the 500+ raw ones. When I wasn't a fan of the initial editing style, Sam was very receptive to my feedback and revised the photos quickly. The reason for 4 stars is the communication. During the consultation, I was hoping for more guidance on ideas since I didn't have a clear vision. I was just shown his portfolio on his tablet and quietly scrolled in front of him. After the shoot, I had to follow up for updates on my raw and edited photos. Only after I reached out first did he respond immediately.

I have been getting TONS of compliments. More importantly I have started getting a lot of auditions literally once I replaced my old photos on the casting sites. This is not an exaggeration. Since my last shoot, 3 years ago, my audition hits almost dried up. The week I posted Brian's photos I have been auditioning non stop and booking! He is also easy to work with, just tell him what kind of feeling you want your photo to have, he will come up with ideas.
