My cousin and I bought the winter deal which is an hour of floating and a one hour massage. The lady who works here is extremely friendly and also talks a lot so we kept forgetting the directions and steps that were needed to prepare for the pod. My cousin got dizzy in the pod and had to get out after 20 min. I stayed in my pod for an hour but the whole time went too slow for me. It felt nice floating but I got bored fast. The lady also forgot that I asked for ocean waves, but it wasn't that big of a deal I guess. I had to listen to asian chimes for an hour. My cousin and I both enjoyed our massages by christina. she was detail oriented. 3.5 stars I heard about float away spas and was curious to try them out especially since I'm all about self care and wellness these days. I booked online per their first timer special ($30 for 60 minutes), which I thought was a good deal. The owner Denni was very welcoming and thorough in her explanation of the float away process. The ambiance was nice and everything seemed to be in place. Overall, I enjoyed the ability to float in the nest. My best description would be like being in a bath tub with great lighting and zen music. The downside was that as the time grew the water got cooler. Although Denni shared that that would happen, but, to enhance the experience a consistent warm temperature would be awesome. Also It was shared that the nest was very sanitary, I couldn't stop thinking about the possibility of it being not as sanitary as I'd prefer. The float is AMAZING! Very relaxing and I see a huge improvement in my back and hip pain afterwards. You can float in darkness and silence (my goal!) or have lights that align with chakra colors and music/nature sounds. I have been floating at Floataway Spas almost weekly for a year now. I typically do a 90 minute float. I would guess I fall asleep after about a half hour in the float tank. It's so peaceful and relaxing! The water is always warm throughout the 90 minutes. The healing benefits are wonderful! I have arthritis in my feet from standing for long shifts. My neck and shoulders also also are typically tight and sore as well. Floating has given me relief from both! I'm also a type 2 diabetic. Floating helps relieve my stress which has helped to bring my blood sugar down. I take a reading before and after my floats. My blood sugar usually lowers by 20 - 50 points! Truly amazing experience. Danni is so thorough in explaining everything. A full hour for $30? Plus you get a pre- and post-shower that's not included in your one hour float time. As a new customer, you get three $30 sessions, and they have packages with savings for after your initial three sessions. Next time I'll do the float and massage. If you're new you get both of these services for $75. That's more than two hours of self care and self love you cannot replace. I had meditation music playing the entire float. Amazing! Fell asleep my first time which I guess is unusual. Got comfortable right away. Forgot my earplugs and couldn't figure out how to turn the light completely off so I'll need to pay attention better next time on those instructions. There are tons of health and emotional benefits with this as well. Total body detox. The last time you were in zero gravity was in your mother's womb. I am an avid floater and have a monthly float subscription at my local float spa. Since I love the many benefits of a salt float in a sensory deprivation tank, I thought that it would be a nice gift for one of my very good friends whose birthday is coming up. She has never done it before, plus who wouldn't want some rest and relaxation on their birthday?! I did a Yelp search of float spas that were close to my friend's home in Sacramento. Although FloatAway Spas was about a 20 min. drive away based on my friend's address, it had the most consistently high reviews. I went with my gut and inquired about their gift certificates. Dani, who is the owner, was very hospitable over the phone. I appreciated how patient she was with me as she walked me through the gift certificate options and transacted my payment over the phone. Dani was also a great communicator; she was very clear and gave me full transparency of their services and pricing. I purchased a 60 min. float therapy and 60 min. massage therapy session for my friend, which she can use during the same day or on different times. I really liked that my friend had the flexibility of booking. The two services were quite affordable as well! Dani offered to email the gift certificate directly to me or my friend. I opted to have it emailed to me, because I would like to surprise deliver it to my friend in-person. I know this review isn't about the float spa services per se, but I thought it was worth acknowledging that this business (and especially Dani) walks in integrity. Great experience! We loved it so much we got the package of three visits after our first one today. Dani is so welcoming and easy to talk to, and she thinks of everything related to the whole experience, down to giving you water bottles that are cold but not *too* cold. I went in at 29 weeks pregnant and she was very attentive, and put down extra mats for me in the room so I wouldn't slip. She really takes her time to explain the whole process if you're a first timer. She suggests a "baby float" to get used to the sensations (some light and music), because total darkness and silence can be a lot if it's your first float. I chose to have the Tibetan pipes playing the whole time, and liked moving around the pod and experimenting with different distances from the speakers, so it felt like I was either hearing it up close or from far away. If you're using light in the pod (you can pick one color or let it cycle), I recommend the red light, it's very rejuvenating. read more

I just came here for the first time and had a great first experience. I'm a strong advocate for mindfulness and I don't know what better way to practice that than in a floatation tank. I had heard about floatation spas from one of my dear friends and I finally decided to do the research and find one to go to myself. This place popped up on yelp and had some of the best feedback I'd seen. I'm going to try to give a detailed description for those like me who like to research before I do anything. After deep yelp research, I purchased the first-time special online and easily booked my first appointment on the business's website too. I did some research so I'd know what to expect and arrived about 15 minutes early. It was clean, well presented, and just a cute overall place. Not to mention, the owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. I was kind of nervous at first but ready to embark on my floatation experience. She brought me to the room where I'd be floating (there are two total), and she explained to me the whole process. You put in your earplugs while dry, shower with everything but conditioner to strip away the oils, knock on the door to let the owner know to start your time, grab a towel for your eyes just in case you need to wipe away the water, then you get into the tank and begin your float. You can choose whether to have the lights on or off and also what sounds you want to hear. Then you just float. I can see how it might be difficult to relax at first if you haven't practiced meditation before but it truly is good for you. I had tension in my back that dissipated within five minutes. I tried out multiple different positions until the water just manipulated my body into what felt most comfortable. After several minutes, I was able to be calm and in touch with myself, focusing on my breath and being mindful. I had a couple sensations where I was almost hallucinating, feeling like I was traveling on a boat observing my life. There was another time where I felt I was spinning in circles and almost felt nauseous, only to open my eyes just to realize I had not moved from my position. I didn't know you shouldn't be on your cycle when you come or that all oils needed to be removed and don't shave anything 24 hours prior to coming. Dani took her time answered any questions and off we went. Now! When I first got into the pod I was shocked at how immediately you begin to float, we did an hour float, after we did massages and let me tell you, massages were bomb! I loved my experience here. I called to book a 60min float as a gift for my husband. Dani made the appt and told me to bring him 15mins early for instructions since it'd be his first time. She gave clear directions to the spa (in the same building as the Mercedes-Benz dealership but around the back) Last minute I had to bring my 1yr old and figured we'd just go to a nearby fast food or coffee place to wait/get baby a snack. However after arriving Dani offered him her own banana as an alternative to the candy dish on the counter. They had a comfy waiting room with a couch and cozy chair. Complimentary tea, coffee, and water. Plenty of magazines. I had a great conversation with Dani that made the time fly by. She even recommended a restaurant and dessert spot in midtown that was convenient and we ended up loving. Once my son fell asleep she gave me a blanket to cover him and turn up the space heater to keep him comfortable. I am so appreciative of her kindness and professionalism. As for the float service, my husband enjoyed it. He said it was relaxing and once the music played(signaling 10 mins til end of session, an option he chose) he felt like the time had flown by and didn't want it to end. Just wow. I called to book a massage and it was midday, they were able to book me SAME DAY. I was so happy. Dani was so nice over the phone and in person. I had been experiencing severe neck and shoulder pain for, well since I can remember. And while that's not "solved" or "fixed" 100% - I do feel SO MUCH better. I have no clue how to spell her name, but the masseuse (Carrin?) was amazing. Very receptive and open to as much or as little as I wanted to talk during the massage. I am both claustrophobic and nervous in water. After hearing great things about floating I decided to try it. I was pretty nervous and the owner (I don't know her name) did a great job of educating me about every aspect of the experience. The salon itself is beautiful, clean and welcoming. This is the first time I have been completely relaxed in water! The first time I have floated. My neck and shoulders were very tight before the float and afterward nothing hurt! If you do have any of the fears I did; it is very easy to open the pod, plenty of room inside. You could keep it open if you wanted but the water will cool faster. I was given a float session as a gift for my birthday. I'd done some reading before going in but was still not exactly sure what to expect. I was greeted warmly by the owner who made me feel beyond comfortable. She took a lot of time explaining everything and answering all of my questions. The room is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, it's completely private with it's own private shower along with all the amenities, towels, robes, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, you get the picture. Very very clean! the float itself is amazing, the water envelops you and the salt makes your skin sooooooo soft. For those of you that might be worried about "fitting" inside the pod there is a ton of room in there, the depth of the water doesn't matter because you're completely buoyant and laying on my back with my arms straight into the air I was unable to reach the roof of the pod so you're not confined. You are in total control of the lid and at one point I did crack it a tiny bit for some cool air on my face. It's a magical experience. You'd be surprised the self reflection that goes on while you're in there, you're alone with your thoughts, your heartbeat and your breathing. Gives you time to learn a lot about patience and relaxation. couple tips: Wear loose clothing, you won't want to have to put on a bunch of clothes after. The entrance is around the building on the back side. There is a ton of parking and I was able to score a spot right in front. I should have brought a towel for my hair that I could wear home. there are towels provided (lots of towels) but I was still dripping a bit after and could have used it on the way home, although I have pretty long hair so I might need it more than the average bear. I first attempted to book last minute on a weekend for myself and three others. I wasn't surprised I was unable to get in due to it being a weekend and so last minute. Daniella was very kind to offer several other dates. I was able to successfully book an appointment for three of us yesterday. Unfortunately I had to cut my float short due to another appointment afterwards. Daniela ensured I made my next appointment timely. I was a bit nervous at first because I'm claustrophobic but the owner explained and showed me that I am in control of opening and closing the pod from the inside (there's a handle similar to inside the car trunk that one can pull) which put me at ease. You shower and clean yourself before getting in the pod. Earplugs provided. Once I got into the epsom salt bath I quickly immersed into the cocoon of soft light, nature sounds and and learned to go with the float. As someone who floated on many occasions in Los Angeles, I have to say that LA float centers do not compare with this one. I can't stress enough how well organized and customer oriented the spa is. They give you enough time before and after and only count your floating time once you are within the floating tank. Extremely clean and the owner is amazing and extremely helpful. Also I had a massage there which was wonderful and the therapist made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. It was only a cherry on the top after the floating session.
