Bad service. I came to get food with my family and it was not busy ( we were a table of 6 ) and the first thing we ordered was sushi rolls and then we started appetizers. They didn't even come to take our drinks unless we had to hunt them down to ask for drinks they brought most of the appetizers and then we waited and waited for an hour just to get the rolls and we then we have enough of waiting so we went and asked for the bill they tired to give us a 5% discount on a 350 bill worst service we would have to call them and call them for then to come to the table honestly never again read more

The food was excellent. However the service was very poor. Server was very nasty when we asked for the bill at the end of meal. Was fighting over whether we had 5 or 6 people at the table. I told her 4 adults and 1 child. Was complaining that my 12 year old granddaughter was older than 12. I said she was 11 and turning 12 in a week. Very very gruff and short. Will never go there again. 217 dollars for dinner. For that much they could be alittle nicer. read more

It's been a while since I've been on Yelp, and it's good to be back! I can't wait to do more of these. Now for the review: This is my first time at this establishment, and walking in, left me with a good first expression. My friends and I were politely greeted by a server, and provided us a table to sit at. The seating was comfortable, and decor is nice and streamlined, and not too overy the top. I really liked how they got creative with the lighting, and the different hues of light used throughout the restaurant. It felt calming, and makes you want to sit down with your friends (and/or family), and enjoy a meal. I like how they make use of tablets to display instead of traditional paper ones. Good for the environment, and better for us because we could put in our orders, without waiting for the servers to take it for us. Also, they left the tablets at the table, so we could put in a new order any time during our meal. Technology ftw! The food was really good. My favourites were the shrimp tempura, egg sushi roll, and the bbq eel sushi roll. We also put an order of the Japanese seseme salad (which came in a very tiny bowl), and it was good. We went a little crazy ordering the sushi rolls (since it was a lunch buffet!). We got crunchy salmon, cucumber roll, California roll. We ordered multiples because they come on small plates. Some of my friends ordered chicken side dishes (and their reaction was well received). I didn't eat the chicken dishes, so I can't comment on that myself. The spicy Korean tofu was good, however, the spices used weren't Korean (my Korean friends confirmed). I put in an order for some shrimp dim sum (dumplings), I was excited because it was my first time to try out dumplings, however I realized it fell short of my expectations. It was just plain cooked shrimp wrapped in dough. We also got the sweet potato tempura, it was okay. If I had to choose between the shrimp and sweet potato tempura, it winner would definitely be the shrimp! We were so stuffed, and we still had food left over. However, there's always room for dessert! I put in an order for red bean and chocolate cream, as well as tiramisu, and mocha mousse cake. They tasted good, and I liked the texture of the tiramisu. Please keep in mind that the dishes are tiny! Cute, but if you want more you can always order more! If I wasn't so full from the sushi and other side dishes, I would've ordered a fancier dessert. Next time! :) The service was excellent. The servers were polite, and brought our first round of dishes faster than I expected. The fact that we didn't have to wait that long, is a plus in my books! They would come to our table time to time to keep up any empty dishes, and to refill our glasses. The price differs depending on what time and day you go on. Weekends are more expensive than going during the weekdays. The lunch buffet was $16.99 (all you can eat). This may be expensive to other lunch buffets, but justify the price for a couple of reasons: 1. It's all you can eat, and the food comes to you a la carte. No need to remove yourself from the table, and reduces the risk of bumping into someone with a plateful of food. 2. The use of technology makes it faster and easier to order whatever you want. The lunch buffet starts at 11AM to around 3:30PM (last call: 3:20PM). You can visit their website for more details. My friends and I went on a Wednesday at around 11:45AM. The restaurant wasn't packed at that time, and we were placed at a nice circular shaped booth. Since it wasn't packed, we stayed around for a while just chatting about about random things, and the servers didn't mind, even after we paid. They still came up to us to refill our glasses (with water). TIP: pay with cash and receive a 5% discount! FYI: they don't accept debit cards. Only cash and credit cards. Also, please keep in mind that you have to pay a "fine" for not finishing the food. Another way of saying that you have to pay extra for leftovers. We had 23 pieces of sushi left so my friend decided to take it home for her husband. She paid an extra $10 for it. Overall, this is a great place to eat done at, and spent some quality time with your loved ones. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. This was the best way to finish our midterm exams, and we may come again after finals, hopefully lol! It makes me sad to downgrade my rating for this place because it's my go to sushi place. Unfortunately my most recent visit left my stomach empty and me less than satisfied with the food and service. The rolls and tempura were delicious. I will give them that. My issue was with any beef item I ordered. I get the garlic beef cubes all the time and they're always hot. Or at least appetizingly warm. This time, cold. Not even room temperature but cold. I flagged down an employee and she was confused and told me to reorder. I did and the next order was also cold. Maybe I'm wrong, but I like my meat hot. I also ordered steak teriyaki that came a little too rare for my liking. I don't mind if a little pink but the plate was filled with blood and sauce. When I flagged down the manager he said "order it well done next time". Are you kidding me? This isn't the Keg. It's a sushi place. I also didn't get my dumplings. One of the better AYCE sushi places in London! Came here with a couple of friends tonight. There is awesome variety (while I ordered a ton of fish, my non Asian friends got their fix for fried foods and also ordered a bunch of Chinese dim sum... what a waste!). My favourite dishes are the aburi salmon nigiri, the salmon sashimi (though it could have been fattier), the grilled salmon neck, and the ice cream! Overall, the food was decent. The scallop and ebi shrimp, however, were weak and fell below expectations. The service was friendly, but we found that they gave repeats of many dishes, and even delivered food that we never ordered! Always remember to check your order, although they are very willing to take back unordered food. read more

Last night, we went to Heart Sushi for a couple of friend's birthday, to celebrate with AYCE sushi and they chose Heart Sushi! This place was really busy for a Wednesday night, but we had reservations and were seated immediately upon walking in the door. We arrived to our table, sat down and proceeded to order using the iPads. My favourite thing when having sushi is the salmon sashimi. I look forward to that every single time. We ordered a platter of several pieces, and they tasted fresh and delicious, but I seem to have gotten some bones stuck in my teeth, twice when eating the salmon sashimi and another salmon roll, and it wasn't a pleasant experience trying to get them out. Other than that everything else was delightful and we were all filled to capacity, then we ordered desert. The desert was delicious, I ordered two scoops of green tea ice cream and one scoop of strawberry. The others in my group ordered the tiramisu, raspberry mouse, and chocolate mouse cakes, vanilla ice cream and mango ice cream. All delicious. The servers were fast, quick efficient, but not very friendly or talkative, more like just order takers, placed our food on our table and off they went. I'm assuming this is just the style of the restaurant and because it's so busy that's how they were trained. Now, when we went to pay, they bring the bill to your table. They don't take debit/interac, only cash or credit cards. Luckily we had our visa with us, because usually we prefer to pay with our debit card. Just a fair heads up to everyone who goes. Came here with friends on Victoria Day! I really liked this place for their food and quick service. We got seated and served really fast. We ordered on iPad and food came out fast too. We got sashimi set ($18) and salmon lover set ($18). The sashimi set includes steamed rice, garden salad and miso soup. Salmon lover set only includes garden salad and miso soup. The fish were nicely cut and they were decent size. The only thing I didn't like about this place was that after we finished eating they came over and kept asking if we wanted anything else and if we wanted the bill in a 15 time span.. I am a fan of this place as an all you can eat - variety. They have some sushi, but a small selection in my opinion. HOWEVER what they have is done well, and they have a bunch of other stuff that is quite delicious. We enjoyed their Siu Mai, red Thai curry, Korean spicy chicken....in addition to sushi. So I would say this is a great AYCE for sushi and sushi paraphernalia. If you hardcore love sushi only, I would say there are better joints. But say you're with a crowd, or would like to try a bit of this and that...well, try this place! read more

Six of us came here for a birthday dinner at the beginning of January. It was a repeat visit for all but myself, so I was going in with the impression that this was great AYCE even with the relatively steep price. I will give it 3.5 stars to bank on improvements. As a few more recent reviews have said, it's really hit and miss with the dishes. Some I really enjoyed, some were forgettable the second the plate left the table. One that stood out was the Pink Lady Roll (Crab Meat, Spicy Mayo, Tempura Bits, topped with Smoked Salmon) as the flavour combo was tasty. My usual sushi-going friends' m.o. for ordering is often a lot of rolls that we split to enjoy, but this group was very much "I'll order exactly what I'm eating," which I did not realize until I had ordered a bunch of 6 piece rolls. Ha, ha. Ha. I ate my body weight in rice I'm sure. Next time I'll confirm the ordering style of my companions first. All in all, I may come back again. Try some new stuff, or stick with the tried and true. Bring along my (rock and) roll loving friends at the very least. read more

Heart Sushi is one of my favourite spots in London. My friends and I have been coming here consistently for about 2 years now. The restaurant itself has a pleasant atmosphere, the servers are very polite and attentive (one of our favourite things is how often they replenish the water--you are never left waiting!) and the iPad ordering is super easy. The food comes very quickly but be prepared to wait a bit longer if you get the pork buns or dumplings. That said, it's only a long wait in comparison with the wait time of other items which is very minimal. The small portions are perfect for an all-you-can-eat restaurant and the food consistently tastes good. The venue is huge which is great since you rarely have to wait to be seated. I would strongly recommend going here for lunch since the dinner prices are steep (which is pretty typical for all-you-can-eat sushi in general). You might get a good laugh from the menu because there are some spelling/grammar mistakes but I just find it charming. Also, the photos associated with each item aren't always accurate and sometimes they are missing--it doesn't bother me but I'd be cautious to not order based on the photo alone. The one complaint I have is that the sushi rolls aren't anything special. Sometimes I find them to be quite flavorless. If you're interested in good rolls, don't come here. Sakata or O"zen are a much safer bet. read more

Very very busy place, especially on the weekends. I would say this is one of the better places in London for sushi but it comes with a higher price. $14.99 lunch on weekdays and $17.99 lunch on weekends and holidays. The portions here are very small which I actually liked about this AYCE restaurant. You literally get a forkfull of seaweed salad or whatever appetizers you get. If you order edamame, you get like 8 pieces. Since the portions for these items are small, it's a nice way to prepare for your sushi coma. For the sushi, the ratio of rice and filing is awesome- more filling less rice! The size of the rolls are actually quite smaller than other AYCE restaurants but again, that's a plus for me. It allows you to eat more variety. The only problem I have with is the price and management. The manager seems so rude and doesn't treat their employees nicely (at least from what I saw). Ah I'm so glad I didn't get dejected and not go there cuz of the previous reviews. It did make me go there with no expectations, good or bad which I guess is a good thing. First things first. The place itself super clean, modern interior. No smell or flies as noted by earlier reviewers. Super polite and very fast service. (Granted there were only like 10 -15 more people after our large group of 8). But I've been to other places where it wasn't 1/2 as quick. Servers were very polite. I recall one of us mentioned how awesome the chips were and a server joked with us telling us that they were all out of chips with a straight face. Then he went to the back and came out with a tray of em! Comin down to the food. Unlike some other AYCE places, I'll give that the options they have for Sashimi / Nigiri / Sushi are limited. Just less. Dynamite rolls are there for sushi folks. Sushi rolls were formed nice. The sashimi seemed fresh. Quite enjoyed it. The Nigiri though, while it was nice. I felt it was too small in size. The Beef Short Ribs quite good as were the grilled eggplant. The satay was just alright. Nothing to write home about. I did get good reviews from others about the cheese wontons (but c'mon how can that not be good!) The desert! Besides the basic Japanese Icecreams, the coconut was amazing! The Lychee Moose (it's legit like one bite) so good. The Mango Pudding was delicious! All in all a pretty fun and good dinner. read more

The pricing was reasonable for an all you can eat sushi place, portions were quite small and you often had to order more (i.e. if you order coconut shrimp, you get one shrimp). At the end, we gave up and asked the waitress to cancel our entire order. Food was nothing special/disappointing. Some of the sushi rolls we ordered didn't have much flavour and they were falling apart as people were picking them up with chopsticks. Also, one of our sushi pieces only had tempura flakes in it. We came here for the dinner AYCE. The restaurant was big and clean, and the staff were kind. The tablet ordering system was smart. Unfortunately, there was a limited selection of sashimi and sushi, considering it was $26 per person. Things that I like that they didn't have: chopped scallop roll/cone/sushi, uni, hamachi. Highlights: Their salmon sashimi was actually quite good though! Their tempura is the best tempura I've ever had! The batter is thin but crispy, and they don't reuse the frying oil; you can tell by the light golden colour. I like that they have a selection of desserts including deep fried banana (yum), as well as various ice cream flavours. I'd recommend against the green tea one, since it tastes really artificial. All in all, I would come back for the a la carte menu, but for me, the AYCE menu is not worth it. read more

I think some of the bad reviews posted earlier are a bit unfair - when a place first opens it takes a while to get things up and running so you need to cut the place some slack while they iron out the creases. However, judging by our experience last night they've already got the hang of it - service was friendly and really quick, I found there to be a better selection than other AYCE places and the fish was extremely fresh. There is a lot of tempura crumbs in some of the rolls, but there is a wide selection of rolls without crumbs to choose from including dynamite roll and rainbow roll. The place itself is spotless and very modern, I didn't see any flies like a previous reviewer noted. The price is comparable to other AYCE places. This will probably be my new go-to AYCE sushi place out of the ones I've tried in London so far! read more

Went on a Thursday early afternoon so I don't think it was as busy as it could be. That being said, service was a little slow though. Aesthetically, it's a really nice restaurant with hanging balloon-shaped glass lights at the booths! I'm no sushi connoisseur, but I thought the food was decent. A good variety of desserts and food choices. The portions are all smaller which I was surprised by at first, but came to like later on because that way you don't become too overwhelmed or end up biting more than you can chew (literally!). It is supposed to be all you can eat but its so far from that , after second round they get disappear , not even offering water . We asked for water 10 times , isn't it terrible?! One of the worst quality AYCE sushi places I have experienced. The fish is not fresh and the crispy tempura bits in the crunchy rolls were not crunchy at all and tasted very stale. I had no willingness to finish any of the food ordered. The only thing I found decent was the beef teriyaki. Definitely a place where you don't get what you pay for - the dinner pricing is too expensive ($33.99 for Fri-Sun; $29.99 for Mon-Thurs) for the quality of food or service that was given. The salmon sashimi had a spongy texture with bits of skin still shown. The wasabi tasted very water-down. The rolls were bland. Overall, the food tasted like a no-frills "near-expired" product but not at a no-frills price. When speaking to the manager about the quality issues, I was told by the manager (and I quote), "I don't know what you're talking about." The customer service here is non-existent except from one server. My experience at Heart Sushi echos all of the other lower-star reviews here, and I honestly regret not heeding to all these warnings. If you don't want to drive too much further, please save your money and get sushi from a supermarket. Or, if you're up for a drive, I highly recommend any of the Wind restaurants (St. Catherine's, the Falls, and the Sauga) - it's around the same price for AYCE sushi (it's actually a tad cheaper, I think), but you'll be exponentially happier with the food and service. Eating sushi here was like a crazy roller coaster. Some foods deserve a standing ovations while others were inedible. The portions they serve are small, which worked out for me since I wanted to try a little bit of everything. I also didn't like how the food was inconsistent. I got the Tom Yom soup the first time and it was delicious. Everything in it was so fresh and the fish sauce in it was nicely balanced. When I ordered it again, they overdid it with the fish sauce and it tasted horrific. The stand out item that I will always remember though is the fried banana. I had heard from a couple of friends that for AYCE this was actually pretty good quality for the price so with a craving I had to satisfy we gave it a try for a late lunch (apparently there is a late afternoon cut off for ordering to get the lunch price and as we were closing in on it we did feel a bit rushed). The selection for the lunch menu was varied and quite good and the speed of service was also very good. Our server was helpful in showing us the iPad style ordering system and answered openly and honestly regarding food choices. They used an intolerable amount of sauce to cover the fishy taste like cheap sushi you buy from the grocery store. Parts of the sashimi was also warm. The service was quite rude as well. I came with my boyfriend and we're both big eaters. Got quite a few stares from the wait staff because of the amount of food on the table...we're obviously at a buffet to EAT not to be judged. On top of that, the male waiters tried to clear all our plates while we weren't finished eating. You can't assume a customer is finished just because you think we should be finished. In the end, we asked for our bill and the guy was extremely condescending and took forever...only to ask us if we needed help after 15 minutes.
