I absolutely love the service at Hear USA, especially from Melissa, she is polite, helpful and always, always makes time for me and gets me in and out. I have had an issue with my hearing aids crackling and playing classical music out of the blue Talking to Melissa she tried to trouble shoot the problem and nothing worked. She ordered replacement hearing aids for me and said she would notify me. After about a week I did not hear anything and called to see if they had been delivered. The staff were kind and courteous at the Lapeer location. But the "Provider" was not able to sell me the Phonak hearing aids that I've worn for the last nine years; she sold another brand. So they directed me to another HearUSA office in Burton, Mi, that sold Phonak. This is nonsense. We're bound for Costco, where five different brands are available at very low prices. read more

The audiologist did not bother to say Welcome, Hello, or introduce herself. All she said was follow me. She told me their app for remote control would not work with my phone and I should buy an iPhone! When I checked later on Google Play it said their app was compatible with my phone, as well as about a dozen other apps. When I told her I wanted an in-ear model, she said they had no samples because they were custom made. I saw later that there are many hearing aids that are in-ear and can be ordered on the internet. Further investigation showed that hearUSA has generally poor reviews. When I complained to their customer care center, I got a reply that basically was a canned response that said "Not our fault." read more

Hear USA offers quality hearing aids but they hiring the grouchiest receptionist. I've been in two of their Melbourne offices and was treated rudely by both of the receptionist at the front desk. One of the put the ear piece in backwards I told her is it wasn't right, she agued with me that is was correct. The doctor in the back came up front and heard us then she fixed them for me. She showed the receptionist how to do it correctly and the girl gave the doctor attitude over it. I had three years of misery with Signa hearing aids and the people working for this company. Kaiser paid 6K for the hearing aids. They were not worth half the price. A salesman by the name of Cash handed me the new hearing aids. I questioned the absence of safety wires. Cash told me I don't need them with these "superb hearing aids". It was not long after that one fell out and was lost. Just having paid my co-pay I was now required to pay $450.00 for the replacement of the lost hearing aid. I did and struggled along with poor auditory adjustment but finally got the safety wires. Consequently, I did not wear the hearing aids very often hoping that in three years I will get a better pair. Kaiser does not pay for more than one hearing aid pair in three years which is not unreasonable. Fast forward to October of last year. Cash had left the little office in Irvine to be a real estate salesman. I erroneously thought he was an audiologist. Except for the secretary who knew nothing about hearing aids there was no one else in the office. I needed help because I had lost a hearing aid for the second time. I went to a bigger office in Tustin and was told I had to pay another $450.00 for a replacement. I then decided to buy hearing aids over the Internet. I was amazed that they came with a safety wire and that they fit my ears extremely well. The wire that connects the device behind the ear to the unit inside the ear was much shorter than on the Signa pair. I walked into the Tustin office with my one Signa unit and the new pair I had just bought and showed the employee at Hear USA the different length of the connecting wire. I explained that the shorter wire protected me from losing the hearings aids during wear. The employee did not argue with me about this rationale saying: "I can cut the wire on the Signa". I replied: "why was that not done right away, three years ago preventing me losing the devices?" The woman had no answer to my question. Instead, she threw me out of the office. For what? I had not assaulted nor insulted anyone. Just expressed my frustration with quality of the hearing aids and the lack of properly fitting. I was shocked! When I did not move quickly enough I was told that the police would be called. The bottom line is that they wanted to be rid off me knowing I had bought new hearing aids and would not need their service any longer. I had to ask help from family to shell out 2K for new hearing aids. The negligence of those two offices caused me to lose the hearing aids in the first place. Do yourself a favor and avoid these two offices. Now I have well fitting hearing aids and excellent service and customer support over the Internet. I am a happy camper. They specialize in testing ear health and work with all insurances including kaiser. It was a nice surprise to see a 3rd party location. That works with HMO PPO and probably even straight Medical. They definitely had enough staff to take appointments on time, and also were friendly and explained all the test results well. They answered any questions. Since I had been in several independent offices getting hearing aids, then later looking for a new company, I took United Health Care's recommendation. HearUSA had the best reviews the service person told me. My hearing aids are 7 1/2 years old so I definitely needed new ones. I was told $199-$1249 each. I bought the most expensive ones, I thought, but the specialist in the office told me there was one higher quality, and price to match. Justin in Delmont, PA was kind, patient, and thorough. I paid with a credit card. Ten days later I returned to pick them up. I was not expecting all the improvements in the time since I purchased my other set. I have an App on my phone to regulate the loudness, or I can adjust them directly. Justin connected Bluetooth to them so I can talk better on the phone and can listen to music or books on my phone. My family and friends will be so happy that I won't be saying, 'what?' every other word. Nice clean office, great customer service, only a 2 minute wait period. This place was negligent and remarkably incompetent in a situation that needed to be handled properly. After 2 months of arguing with insurance to get my dying fathers hearing aids covered we were told this was where we needed to go. I brought him in for the hearing test after dealing with a zero empathy front desk people. Doctor did the test and assured me the aids would be available for pick up within 2 - 3 weeks and no further action was required on my part and they would call me 100 percent. They never called and after 3 weeks I called and was told that I was supposed to call kaiser and request an authorization and they hadn't even begun to make the aids. No one ever called me. No one told me that step was needed. And the last 3 weeks of his life he was left with no hearing aids to help him hear the final conversations and goodbyes with all his loved ones and me after I promised I'd get him the aids before he was gone. Utter remarkable unsympathetic incompetence which may have been intentional because they didn't want to make aids for someone so sick. He could barely hear his last conversations and missed out on proper last goodbyes. Don't. Go. Here. read more

Sadly Hear USA has become an extremely limited hearing aid provider. They primarily sell hearing aids from Signia. Signia is Not one of the best companies. Signia lacks color and choice. You may find an audiologist who will also deal with Phonic hearing aids, but most likely you will have to drive many miles to get to this person. Purchased hearing aids at HEAR USA in Ocala RT 200 for over $3000 plus insurance, WORST condescending hearing aid ( specialist ? ) I have ever had to tolerate. When I told her there is a chirping noise when I chew, she says "then don't chew"! Total rip off! I ended up going there twice for less than an hour total. First time was for the hearing test and they actually sold me on a pair that day. They were expensive! Around $4000. My insurance covered all but $800 out of my pocket. So, They were over the ear type. I tried them for a few weeks and they like I was in a tin can. I went in for an adjustment and smaller ear pieces as the ones they fitted me for made my ears itch. Anyways, they never sounded good to me. So I returned them. You have 30 days I think. So I got my $800 back. Then I get a statement from insurance for $4000. I owed $0. But! I returned the damn things and they still got their money. What a scam! They have a location that is a block from where I live but I came to this location because the person who originally had my hearing aids purchased them and had them maintained there. I had several disappointments in my dealings with them. First of all, on their door it clearly states that Saturday appointments are available. Except that when you ask about a Saturday appointment, you are told they are not available. Yet the sign on the door continues to say they are. And their website continues to say they are. Because of my work hours, I am unable to get there before they close at 5pm weekdays without making changes to my schedule which, due to the nature of my job, is not always something I can do. Nevertheless, I was able to get a change so that I could make it there by 4:30. When I called to make the appointment, I specifically told the person that I was coming in to have a pair of used hearing aids cleaned and fitted to my ears when I made my 4:30 appointment. That would have been a great opportunity for her to tell me that the doctor would need more time than that and that they do NOT stay a minute after 5pm. So, I had to make yet another appointment, this time at 4pm which forced a more severe change in my schedule. Not to mention forcing me to ask the person at the desk to assure me that there would be enough time to do what I specifically needed done. Finally got to see the doctor and got acceptable service, which I suppose is the reason you come here in the first place. But their customer service inconvenienced me. Referred to HearX by my insurance company (Scan/Truehearing). Audiologist Beverly was fine, but the facility is poorly maintained. The customer waiting area is dirty (stains on fabric chair seats) since waiting area is near reception/work area and not enclosed, all the personal chatter and other office 'noise' goes on like customers are invisible. It will be my first hearing aid, so I know I will need several follow-up visits, (trial fittings, adjustments, programming etc), but I've called twice over a week ago, and no one has returned my calls, and this is before I purchase. My guess is, that service after the sale will probably be the same or worse. I don't have to use them, and I won't support businesses that don't follow thru with customers, and you shouldn't either. Like others have said, Kaiser suggested HearUSA as a place to go for my mom to get her hearing aids. My mom actually thought that they would be more expensive, however with her Kaiser insurance and some discount that they were offering they were less than what she expected. They still are on the expensive side I guess compared to other places, however she wanted to get good quality hearing aids and she feels that they are very good quality. Also, the doctor that has helped my mom each of the last two or three times that we have been there, has been very patient with my mom and is really nice to work with. Others have given this place a negative review, maybe because of the high-priced hearing aids or other reasons I'm not sure, but out take is that we like this place even if the hearing aids are a little bit more expensive. Biggest friggen' rip off ever. Went here for my hearing test thru Kaiser. Went back with my wife to discuss hearing aids and prices. This loser-ass lady could have doubled for a Used Car Salesman. She says we have 4 or 5 different hear aids available for sale. They are priced from $999 to $6,000 each. She has me try on the $4,700 aid, it doesn't really work very well. Her response is they have to adjust the settings at the factory.(Bullshit). I asked to try the $999 aid. Her response is we are only given 1 hearing aid per location. What kind of shit is that. Just because you have a deal with Kaiser, don't fuck people. I went to Costco and their prices were from $999 to top of the line $1,799. Go to COSTCO you'll be glad you did! read more

We were visiting from our home on Maui, Hawaii and the charger for my Resound hearing went out, so my hearing aids were dead with no way to power them. I assumed the charger had to be replaced and was about to call my audiologist in Maui to order a replacement and have them ship it to me. But my wife suggested I call HearUSA. I did and spoke to Rochelle who answered immediately and suggested that I drop off the charger to be tested. With a couple hours she diagnosed that it was just a charger cable. As it turned out, she had one in stock and gave it to me for free - even though I insisted on paying for it. What great customer service is that?
