What a positive find, out and about just driving around admiring Colorado's beauty. Four of us, three chicken pot pies and one Cubano. WoW. Effing delicious. Sitting outside on a sunny day in the Fall. Felt very comfortable and well taken care of. Took desserts home. Bonus later that evening. The pie's were amazing too

All I can say is YUM!! Amazing

Always great. The best chicken pot pie. Yummy salads and other apps. Music seems to be happening a lot. And save room for dessert. Pistachio cake , brownies, blueberry pie, and more. We love it here.

Excellent lunch. Wasn't sure how this was going to go at first because it took a minute to have someone take our order, but then it all fell into place and the meal was well worth it. I had the turkey, cranberry, and brie panini with cole slaw. Both were delicious. My guy had the jerk chicken quesadilla and he said it was delicious - nice and crisp with mango salsa. The coleslaw was probably the best I've had - I offered him a taste of mine and he went back for more!! If we are in town again would return!!

Finally found a decent dinner at almost reasonable prices. The chicken pot pies were delicious. We also ordered their mushroom soup, which is puréed and very good. They included a salad and were quite filling even though the ramekin they were served in looked small. Next came the homemade pies which finished off a great dinner. Service was great. It takes 20 minutes to cook the pot pies. Just a plain Jane restaurant inside. They just opened another restaurant in Snowmass Village.

Heather's Savory Pies and Tapas was one of the best experiences that I had here in Colorado. Everything from the food, the hospitality, the ambiance, and the drinks were top notch. Food: 5/5 We were not too hungry so we ordered one appetizer and one savory pie to share. For the appetizer, we got the stuff mushrooms. They super flavorful and plump. I just wished they had more than four of them. For the entree, we ordered the Shepards pie. It was my first time having it, but boy was it delicious. The mash potatoes were creamy and the lamb was mouthwatering. It paired so well with the cheesy bread that they gave us. Service: 5/5 If I could give this more than I five I would. All of the servers were so sweet and helpful. We had a seat at the bar and was quickly greeted by Nora. She is the best and truly made our experience. She shared so many of her stories and experiences and chatting to her made out night. Ambiance: 5/5 There was live music in this restaurant but it was not overpowering. It was mellow and smooth and we even recognized some of the songs they played. It brought out a wonderful lively crowd to this sleepy little town. I definitely recommend making a reservation because as the night went on, more and more people showed up and there eventually was a small wait.

The food was yummy and the service was good. We also enjoyed the live music on the patio. This is a great spot for a cozy and casual night out.

I love this place. The service, ambience and decor make this a very comfortable setting to receive masterfully crafted down home cooking. The menu is diverse and filled with comfort food. The empanadas are a must! The star of the menu are the homemade pot pies. There are several iterations, and everyone is spot on. The pot roast with horseradish mashed potatoes is better than anything mom made! Under no circumstances should you forget to have dessert. The pistachio cake is unique and delicious.

We stopped here for dinner before hiking West Maroon Pass the next day. It was conveniently located downtown and walking distance from where we stayed at Basalt Inn. Our party of four was sat outside, right near the live music which was lovely (and not too loud)! We started with a round of drinks - I got the blackberry smash which was way too boozy for me (one of the reasons I'm not giving a five star). Food - our table started with the Brie appetizer which was very tasty! Each couple got the pot roast and chicken pot pie to share. Our salad came early and was really tasty, I loved the light basil vinaigrette. The pot roast then came out before the pies (pies take 20 minutes to make once ordering) and it was delicious! We agreed one of the most tender roast we've ever had. I loved the underlying taste of rosemary. The carrots and onions were fall apart delicious. The service was OK - our server was obviously very busy but we didn't feel like a priority (lots of affluent older people at the restaurant were being catered to more). Overall, would come back!

We did hear the table next to us get the wrong drink from the bar, and the server argued with them. We didn't say anything, but we distinctly remember the lady at the table noticing the server was probably going to get the drink wrong and was very careful to spell out exactly what she wanted, and he still brought the wrong thing. I think he was just rushed. We had no other problems that night, and even that couple seemed OK after they got it fixed. We did notice that the restaurant called Heather's just across the street had live music that night, and their music was quite loud. It was interfering with the music playing over the speakers at this establishment and it was a bit jarring.

Price: Expect standard Vail pricing for high-end cocktails, with most drinks ranging between $16-$20. Customer Service: The service was fantastic. Atmosphere This spot has a cool, welcoming vibe that feels very safe. It's the kind of environment where you can really settle in and enjoy the company you're with. The Drinks I ordered the Sangre del Sol. The flavor was amazing, though be warned it is very strong! It's an excellent choice if you enjoy a cocktail with a serious kick, but I ended up letting my friend finish mine after a few sips. Overall Experience I highly recommend Root & Flower for a beautiful setting and top-tier service. Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at the S. Overall it was just ok. I think what kind of set our decision to probably not return is the fact that a table near us had asked the server something (we aren't exactly sure what) and she took their dish back and then proceeded to talk crap about them in the server/kitchen area. My husband said the table didn't hear her but I don't know how they didn't as she was talking very loudly about how "my tables are so annoying today! The Dogwood is a cocktail cabin that is located in the heart of downtown Crested Butte. They keep the lights dimmed and have a fun music playlist that creates a nice relaxed atmosphere. The floor creaks as you walk through the cabin and they have cool chandeliers. We were initially told it would be a long wait, but somehow they found a table rather quickly for us. It was cold out, so we appreciated it. The Dogwood has a nice variety of artisanal cocktails on their menu. Our server was very helpful with giving us some options. I didn't have my readers on me and had a hard time reading the menu. So her describing some of the cocktails to me was very helpful. Dogwood has a number of classic drinks, margaritas and martinis. Some of the fun names that I saw were Thor's Hammer, D Cup, Porch Song, Mr. Pink and Beetnik. I ordered the Headhunter and enjoyed my drink. For food, Dogwood has charcuterie-style bites and other light snacks. This was a great find and a nice way to cap off our fun trip to Crested Butte.
