Last company I used was very nice, but it was a hefty bill and it took a handful of days for them to come over, determine what was wrong, then a few more days to order the part. This was also in the summer time when I love having ice in my drinks. This time I sent out what I thought the job required via Yelp to several companies. Larue Mechanical Services was one of the first to respond. On top of that they were able to determine what the likely cause and fix was (basically just replacing it) and give me a total estimate cost of the repair before they came over. Other companies were able to provide me their service fees but their hourly rate would vary depending on the job. This isn't uncommon from what I can tell, but I like the fact that Larue was able to give me what they thought it would cost. I understand not all jobs can work like that as repairs can be more complicated and determined on site, but it was part of why I chose them. They were communicative, got the part ordered asap, and replaced it all in 2-3 days. The repair happened on a Friday, and turns out, there was a small error in replacing it. The new ice maker was just dripping water all over and freezing. I let them know this on a Saturday and, despite being closed, responded that they would have to come back out. They responded to several texts about what to do in the meantime to stop the water from building up any more (again while they were closed on a weekend). They were, unfortunately, swamped all day Monday with emergency calls from the weekend. As much as I wanted my machine repaired, I would not classify it as an emergency either. They were able to come out on Tuesday and get it all fixed up though. The final bill was just a little cheaper that what they previously estimated, which was nice. The final bill was also about significantly cheaper than the last repair I had on this freezer. I am going to call Larue first if I ever have an appliance repair need again (which I am sure is a matter of "when" not "if"). The gentleman who did the repairs also took a little time to give my cats and dogs a little attention to let them know he was a safe visitor, which was very nice to see as well.

Over a year ago, Apex Plumbers came out to our house to put in a faucet. The faucet was already…read morepurchased. All they had to do was install the faucet. The plumbers told us that we would need a couple of valves replaced as well. We are two older women who have no clue what that entailed. They talked us into purchasing a Carebear membership as well so that we wouldn't get any more surprises like this in the future.. They had us sign the estimate. The job literally took them around 5 to 10 minutes. The final bill with the carebear membership was over $1000.00. We were in complete shock when they were done in a matter of minutes. We spoke with other plumbers and family members and were told that this company took complete advantage of us. We called the home office and requested an invoice because the plumbers did not give us a written or electronic copy of the invoice for referencing purposes. It took a few days to finally get the invoice. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the customer service agent but they were unwilling to reduce the charge. Fast forward, the company automatically charged us for a new membership this year. I disputed the charge and the credit card company removed the charge. I then called Apex to let them know I would not be paying for the charge because we canceled it the previous year shortly after the original service. They said that they understood and would take it off of the account. About six weeks later I received a credit for the membership. It had been a while so didn't realize that I was credited twice until I received a call from the billing department that I owed that money back to them. They also acted as though I disputed the charge after they refunded the money which caught me off guard. After researching my credit card statement it was the other way around but they tried to act as though I was essentially stealing from the company (not their exact words but it certainly felt that way). They did put the charge back on my credit card which they legally had the right to do. It's just the principle of the matter. Please check other plumbing companies. There is nothing ethical about this company.

Technician came back out next day only to tell me that the filter needed to be change which he should have caught the day before had he did the full diagnostic and that would be another $100 for diagnostic fee which I refused to pay called the company for a resolution only for them to be more concerned about form of payment for the diagnostic fee and unconcerned at the fact that I already paid for a service the day before and my air conditioner is still not working I'm so upset and hot and this company's model is they treat you like family!
