The drinks were really bad they were literally undrinkable :( I've never have matcha or coffee that bad and it's expensive I asked for them to try and maybe fix it and they were like hesitant the people are nice but not worth it.

Excellent service. Great location and wonderful staff. Your choice to sit inside or out. They prep and bag your food in to-go containers and bring it to your table. The chicken - not what I was hoping for. A mix of white and dark meat. I personally love both, but if you're thinking of a fried chicken breast, that's not what it is. The sandwiches are messy so grab yourself a whole bunch of napkins. My wife ordered the mild. It had some spice to it. The bun was not big enough to cover the sandwich (might be a good thing for some) so she ended up eating part of a half. The chicken was disappointing. My daughter had the naked Sando - she ate half and gave the other half to me, which I took home. She didn't like the chicken either. Pricing - much higher than what I would've paid for this type of meal. Expensive. We paid $70 (including tip) for 3 meals + a side of queso. Meals come with seasoned fries (very tasty), Mac & cheese (delicious), or Cole slaw. We drank water - didn't order drinks. I'll be back for food from Rudolfo's, but not for Heatwave's.

Fries weren't too bad but had the same seasoning as my chicken sando.

Food! Mild Chicken Sando- had some kind of sweetness to it and had no spice to it at all. I think the fries and my chicken sando had the same seasoning. Mac and cheese was just different and unfortunately I was not a fan. Fries were okay with the same seasoning as my sando. Side of ranch is not homemade, straight from Hidden Valley. Service was amazing with very friendly staff and attentive. Ambiance was nice and the place got packed quick. Although seating capacity compared to the line, look like some people may of had to get it to go.

Tsunami Fries. Spicy (Medium) Chicken Sandwich.

The food was very good. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich (medium) and it was seasoned perfectly. It was spicy so I'd recommend being cautious if your spice tolerance is low. I ordered extra wavy sauce for my sandwich. The tsunami fries (mild) were also delicious. The portions are huge and my wife and I both had food left over. Definitely check this place out!

The food is sooo bland. Got a mild fried veggie sando (didn't know how spicy it was going to be) with seasoned fries. The sandwich had an odd sweet flavor either from the sauce or the slaw, almost tasted like medicine. It was not spicy at all. They got my order wrong and didn't even give me fries. Good thing I ate it there so that I could go back inside and ask for them. When I was waiting for the new box I saw big plastic bags full of frozen fries that they were about to cook. Good to know they're not fresh. They had no salt at all and tasted incredibly bland. Overall way overpriced. Service is not existent (you order at the counter) with no one to greet you when you go.

This was my first time trying it and they're known for the fried chicken sandwich. I order the spicy level MEDIUM. It was the perfect spicy level for me. It for sure had a kick, but it was tolerable. If you like spicy and also want to enjoy the sandwich this is probably a good spicy level for you. They do have an other level of spicy. The sandwich has coleslaw so it balances the heat , a perfect combination with the pickles. Overall I had a Good sandwich. The fries are seasoned in a nice spice blend, im not usually a crinkle-cut type of fries girl but they still tasted good. They also had Mac and cheese and it also balanced out the heat if you have a spicy level flavor. The service was really good, for our first time he guided us on what to order and how it works. They have outdoor sitting and inside seating the place is decorated nice with plants around. Forgot they have Ice cream and slices of pies. they do only open on Sundays so for anybody trying to get a fried chicken sandwich Sunday's are the day they open. as for the rest of the days it gets turned into a restaurant which I haven't tried, but would love to.

    Medium sando, Mac & tenders

The third time trying this place out in the past few years and it was still disappointing. Online makes it look so appealing but everything is flavorless and the chicken is always gross. The wavy sauce flavor disappears in your mouth, the fries are "seasoned" with little to no taste, and yes the tenders are plain but that should not mean flavorless. The Sando was Okay. It's always just Okay. For the two meals was $40 and you're left feeling disgusted ‍ It's not worth it and I will probably not give it another chance.

    Sando chicken meal

I had very high hopes since on Google maps it was all 5 stars... I got two meals and 2 drinks which came out to be around 50$...the service is good but and the food took a bit to come out which is fine but the food was horrible I've had many fried hot chicken places chicken in out, Dave's hot chicken, and many other places in California and this place was the worst. The chicken was slimy and they didn't cut out the skin of the chicken which mostly all places do and it was fried like popeyes chicken( which isn't good in my opinion) and didn't have a good taste. The mac n cheese in the papi culo meal was very bland and the chicken was very hard. Big portions which are good but couldn't stand to finish it. I wouldn't recommend I wasted my money.

Medium Chicken sandwich (exactly how it was given to us btw)

This place is definitely over hyped. Looks nothing like pictures on Instagram (which is understandable but taste is not there either) When we went in we ordered mild and guy at register persuaded us to get medium if we liked a SMALL kick to it. Medium was EXTREMELY spicy, we took one bite and couldn't finish. We never are the type to ask for something else but In this case it was just too spicy to eat and they declined. They said we would have to pay for another sandwich which to begin with wasn't worth $20 in my opinion. Also, mac looked soooo good on their IG but, just plain ole mac with LOTS of pepper... Keep in mind, I'm Latina, I love spice!

Love this spot when we go to Monterey!…read more Simple little place, bright and fun. Always have some good music and/or music videos playing. The KFC is on point! Perfectly cooked, and perfectly seasoned chicken - or sauced, depending on what you're going for. The breading is so crispy you get that good crunch when you bite into a wing or drumstick! We only had 4 people--so when our server brought out the food and noticed we ordered a lot for 2 adults and 2 kids, she was kind enough to add another table so we'd be comfortable. The Food Lineup: * Chicken Fried rice for my daughter and it was so adorable because they made it into a shape of a heart. Love the attention to detail! * Sodduk Sodduk - 10/10! I'm a sucker for tteok so to have it in skewer form with mini sausages was a treat. The outside was kinda crunchy and the inside was nice and chewy. Loved it! * Dduk Bok Gi - not spicy so I absolutely loved it. The sauce I was slathering on top of my rice and dipping some of my K-Honey chicken in it. Yum! * K-Honey Chicken was so good! The chicken had a super crunchy outside and the inside was so juicy. I kept scraping up the sauce from the tray to get every bit. Definitely a 10/10! I loved this place and would definitely come back. Also thought the bathroom art work was hilarious. IYKYK.

You might be wondering, "what are you doing here?" I'm wondering the same thing! If you read my…read moreother reviews, you'll see that I reside in the Central Valley, which is pretty far from Monterey, but not too far. I came for a little vacation from the heat, which is definitely necessary because it gets pretty toasty in the Fresno area. I think it's all the roads and stuff. I wouldn't know, I'm not a scientist. To continue what I was saying, I came to Monterey for a little vacation! Usually I'd go eat at a little spot at a mall called Island Burger, but to my surprise, the place was permanently closed! Can you believe it? I couldn't. Because the Island Burger was closed, I decided to go elsewhere for a burger. I checked online to see what folks were saying about this place, and it seemed like everybody had mostly positive things to say. So I went and ate there! When I walked in I noticed it was one of those spots where you just kinda put in your order and sit down and wait. So that's what I did. I got the spicy burger, but I can't remember the name of it. I also got some onion rings and chicken wings. I'd like to mention that I was with my family so we could share those items. I could theoretically eat all of that myself, but that'd be a bit greedy. The burger was great and it had a good amount of spice. The meat was juicy and nicely seasoned, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The onion rings had a delicious batter, and were fried to perfection. The chicken wings really surprised me! I would go as far as to say that they were on par with, and maybe even better than Wingstop. Overall, the service was great and quick, the food was immaculate, and I would absolutely recommend this spot to anybody who is in the area. The bathrooms are nice too. I forgot to mention that. Good bathrooms are very important.

The patty was a solid size, not too thick and not too thin. It was the perfect thickness, giving you a great balance of meat, cheese, and toppings in every bite. Everything is made fresh to order, and you can tell. The lettuce was crisp, the tomatoes were fresh, the grilled onions were perfect, and the whole thing was put together so well. It wasn't messy, just a quality burger from the first bite to the last.My son got The Works, and if you saw his burger, you'd understand why he cleaned his plate. The food came out fresh, hot, and looked amazing. They really take the time to make everything look picture-worthy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, the wait wasn't long at all, and they have self-serve fountain drinks, which is always a plus. The menu is simple and easy to order from. They have salads, chicken burgers, hamburgers, and you can customize your burger however you like. Their burgers are cooked medium-well by default, but I asked for mine well-done and they got it exactly right. The customer service was cool. They weren't over the top trying to impress you, but they definitely weren't underperforming either. Everyone was chill, friendly, and got the job done. The portions are generous. I only finished half my burger and took the rest home. I reheated it later and it was still just as delicious. Overall Rating: 8.7/ 10. This place has officially earned a spot on my list of go-to burger spots. I'll definitely be back!

On our last visit, we decided to try something other than our go to (the aforementioned fish and chips) and tried their grilled rockfish dinner. It was a great choice! Nicely cooked through without being dry, it had a nice flavor that reflects the freshness of the fish. We also did their Baja fish tacos. We all agreed it was one of the messiest, tastiest fish tacos we'd had in awhile. Generous piece of rockfish, with a sauce that compliments, not overwhelms the fish. Unfortunately my sons aren't fans of raw fish (I should do one of those genetic tests to see if they're really my offspring, but I digress), I nonetheless will find an occasion to try their seared ahi tuna which I'll have on the rare side.
