    a pepperoni and olive pizza
    Andrew B.

First time eating Dominos. Decided to take advantage of the $7.99 large pizza deal. Got the pepperoni, ham, and olive. Did carry out, staff was nice. Got my pizza within 10 min. Got home and took a bite, so bland. All I taste is the olives, which taste like the can they came out of a can. First and my last trip to dominos, would rather spend the extra $5 at mountain mikes or Pizza my way for a better eating experience. Had to pour a bottle of ranch on it to eat it

Must be just a Dominos thing that they do not believe in a decent amount of sauce. Because unless I ask for xxtra sauce this is what I get. Since there's not a decent amount of sauce my pizza dries out and it tastes like dry cardboard. C'mon guys!

It's the same pizza they make at every Domino's Pizza across the country, nothing fancy, but good for cheap filling food. PROS: Cheap, Basic, Fast delivery, Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich, Lots of different drink options (Cherry; Diet & Regular Coke, Sprint, Barqs Root Beer, Fanta, Dasani & VitaminWater), they always get my order right (unlike Papa Johns), lots of sales (which you can view on the website). CONS: Nothing Fancy, sometimes the bacon on the sandwich is chewy/fatty (So I've learned to inspect before eating), website does not allow you to place delivery orders for some areas that they do deliver to.

Huge air pockets!!! This branch can't even make a simple pizza.

Maybe it's this location only, but the two times I've ordered from this location, my experience was terrible. First time I did a carry-out using the web. After ordering and receiving my receipt and the confirmation email, they said they never got my order once I arrived at the store--thus I had to wait literally 30ish minutes to get my pizza. For the mistake on their part, I received no apology; all I received from the employee was that they have to charge me if I wanted red pepper flakes. I busted out laughing...What a joke! Second time ordering, which was today (I thought I'd give them another try) I received the pizza on time, however, once home, I opened the pizza box to find the pizza in a terrible condition. First, I don't think the pizza was fully cooked--by the taste of cheese and the toppings--and due to all the air bubbles in the dough prior to baking, half of the pizza had internal air-pockets. These air-pockets made the bottom of the pizza to split from the top, making it difficult to eat while degrading the taste. Due to all the air-pockets and the crapastic placements of cheese and toppings, the pizza experience was terrible, and more than half was thrown out as I couldn't force myself to eat the pizza. As a pizza place, how can this branch stay in business when it has difficult time making pizza correctly? It boggles my mind!

Just received the pizza/pasta/dessert delivery of my dreams. An angel sent Walter to my home to deliver me to salvation. I can rest assured knowing I've eaten the best pasta on earth. Thank you.

Service was fast pace and quick they don't skimp around when it came to ordering our food. It did take a little long for waiting for our pizza to come out and be on our table. Some stuff asides that long wait the ambiance is what you expect this place is booming and everyone sitting down and eating pizza or what you ordered. It's definitely a great spot if you're looking hungry in Monterey. Come here. But again be prepared that it might take a while for your food to come to the table.

The place was packed on a Saturday night, and the atmosphere was fun. Our large Gianni's special was loaded with toppings; they give you your money's worth that way. But the crust was so-so at best. Actually, kinda flavorless. And there was so much topping, the first few bites were pretty soggy. Also, it being so crowded, the only place for us was the bar. We weren't drinking, and the grumpy bartender gave us attitude about that. Eventually we found a table. All in all, I'll keep looking for the best pizza in the area. I also won't avoid Gianni's; I'll just try next time in a weeknight.

This is an update/reply to owner on 4/1:…read more I think your reply to me here is making matters worse. You're refusing to take accountability for the fact that you hired an individual who is extremely obnoxious, mouthy, and disrespectful to a customer who is having a problem due to a combination of factors - one being that you closed early on a weekend night, and the other being that a third-party service is failing to do a good job. A third-party service I might add who you have chosen to do business with. As a small business owner myself, as you pointed out, I can assure you, I will never hire a person and allow them to work at my front desk who has the audacity to treat customers as rudely as your employee did. The largest offense here was the behavior of your employee and that is the one thing you have failed to address. There are solutions to the problems you were having - one is as simple as writing a note on your door, letting your customers know that you've chosen to close early that day. Another is refusing to do business with a third-party who is making matters worse rather than better for your business. But the most important thing here is having the care And attention that is required to not hire people capable of being so rude to your customers. Your employee did not make that offer of a pizza until we pointed out that he could have done something better to address the situation rather than giving mouth. But the point here is, we did not want pizza at that time. We wanted the night before when we were in a jam, and by that point, our trust in the food at your store was completely shattered. Because if a person makes a decision to hire someone that is so rude to customers, they may also make the decision to hire a cook who spits in your food. And anyone who fails to understand or address the unacceptable behavior of their employees when it is necessary is indeed a one star establishment. This is an update: A person from Pizza My Way called me a day after I posted my original 1-star review. She was friendly and helpful, and ultimately refunded the $40. I appreciated that. So I brought my review up to 3 stars. However, the situation was seriously unacceptable. Businesses have a responsibility to hire people who are going to treat customers with respect and who are capable of responding to problems created by decisions of the restaurant and their policies. This was a stressful experience and my wife and I walked away feeling very disrespected and initially $40 poorer with no pizza and no solution. The young person working for them has no business treating customers who pay a whopping $40 for a pizza that way- and his behavior being tolerated makes it impossible for me to give the restaurant another chance - so I cannot give an honest review of their food only their service. Maybe if someday I get a call that they have let said employee go they can regain my trust and I'll give them a try because their right up the street, and perhaps I can become a regular customer since I'm so close and they can get a higher rating from me. Originally posted 5/15: Worst pizza experience on the Monterey Peninsula by far. The place just randomly closes on a Saturday night well before their posted closing time. I order for pick up, spend over $40 for one large pizza which is absolutely crazy. I mean other people might think that's normal but I think that's crazy. That doesn't matter. I was in a jam and I had to get my kids some food and was not able to get back home and cook because of an emergency at work. In any case, I pay for the pizza online and then I called to confirm and there's no answer. I call multiple times. I show up to the store in person at around 8:35, 25 minutes before they are supposed to take their last order, and the whole place is dark. The next day, I am assured by the person I speak to on the phone that I will be refunded. Later on that day, I double checked to make sure that's true and it looks like they withdrawn the money from my bank account. So I called back and the person I speak to on the phone refuses to give me their name, they take absolutely no accountability for the situation, and offer absolutely no solution. So I spent $40 on pizza I never received, I was completely unable to get the attention of the manager, and my wife, and I both had to endure rudeness, extreme rudeness from their staff. When I walked in to restate my reasonable request to no avail, the person on staff was recording me on his phone. I don't get it. I'm the customer and I've already spent money and I still haven't received any product from them. It's nothing personal. When you're closing well before you posted hours on a weekend night, when you've got some cockamamie ordering system that you've built into your website, when you can't be accountable to your customers that spend money or even polite, you deserve the bad reputation that follows.

Next I had the regular 'ol IPA (American Beauty) and that was delicious as well. We visited on a Sunday afternoon during the weekend of my 35th High School Reunion weekend. We were flying out the next day before they opened and the pizzas looked so incredible that we ordered THREE to take home to L.A. right then and there. Hops & Fog's menu is surprisingly extensive, including apps, salads & soups, sandwiches and absolutely amazing pies. We ordered the Nueva Margherita ($17) with marinara, stracciatella, parm and fresh basil...The Legend ($24) with marinara, pepperoni, calabrese, Italian sausage, ricotta cheese, garlic cloves and a sweet/hot sherry glaze....and the daily special with white sauce, green beans, squash blossoms... Starting with the Return of the Fun Guy, this pizza featured black truffle velouté, mozzarella, a medley of mushrooms, hazelnuts, and tarragon pesto. The flavor was rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying. The truffle and mushroom combination worked perfectly together, creating a well-balanced pizza that wasn't overly heavy. The tarragon pesto was a pleasant surprise, especially since I'm usually not a huge pesto fan. My only minor criticism is that I would have liked a few more mushrooms on the pizza, but overall it was outstanding. The star of the meal was the Nueva Margherita. This elevated take on a traditional Margherita pizza came topped with house marinara, stracciatella, Parmesan, and fresh basil. The addition of the creamy stracciatella brought the pizza to another level and made every bite incredibly flavorful. The sauce was bright and fresh, the cheese was rich and plentiful, and the basil tied everything together perfectly. This is an absolute must-order. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. The ambiance leans more toward a lively bar atmosphere with close seating. Overall, both pizzas were delicious. I'd happily order either one again and highly recommend giving them a try.

The breading was not overly powerful or too much. They had 3 dipping sauces. I really liked the basil one, hubby thought it was too powerful. The lemon aioli was also very good but I absolutely loved the basil one. The red one was just okay to me but hubby liked that one the most. The golfing goal was going to be easy since I had two tee times set up at two different amazing golf courses before I even arrived. The food one I thought might be a bit more of a challenge since I'd never been to the Monterey area,so I knew I was going to have to rely on trusty Yelp for some assistance. Well after a great day of golfing, the first thing I wanted was some high-quality pizza and Yelp pointed me straight towards Heirloom Pizza located on Cass Street. Parking at this location was pretty good as even though it was located in a busy part of town, they had their own lot they share with other businesses. Once inside I was able to see how cute this restaurant was-totally the kind of place one would take someone they cared about-date-night vibes for sure. We had called in our order before we arrived and since we were taking pizza back to the group,we ordered two large deep dish pizzas. We ordered the Pepperoni Deep Dish ($38.75)-which basically features pepperoni and a crazy amount of cheese. We also ordered The Slider($38.75) which featured meatballs, mushrooms, onions, roasted garlic and a crazy amount of cheese. Each pizza was 12-inch size, smaller than I'm used to when ordering deep dish but with the high quality ingredients and elevated cooking techniques they used,it seemed like a fair price. Both pizzas were incredible tasting and choosing between them would be like picking between a Lambo or a Ferrari. Both were an amazing eating experience and both established a new standard for deep dish pizza for me. But if I had to pick-Slider all day-I really loved that pizza, perfect crust, perfect variety of toppings, perfect seasonings, perfect sauce-yeah that was a really great pizza. I hated that I had to share it if I'm being honest. In closing, If you're ever in the Monterey area and you would like to try some high-quality deep-dish pizzas, give Heirloom Pizza a shot-I'm sure you will enjoy quite a tasty bite.

The crust was flavorful, just thick enough to hold up, but thin enough not to fill you up. The sauce, was to me, a perfect tangy zesty tomato sauce , not spicy, containing chunks of fresh tomato. Under the sauce, enveloped within a succulent bed of cheese, were the items. The pepperoni was solid, fresh and a flavor delight, but the star was the Slider Pizza. Packed with succulent meatballs, with mushrooms, onions and garlic, each bite was a savory flavor bomb on my taste buds !
