I heard they had the best traditional hot buffalo wings. So, I had to stop to see if they were the best. I ordered 25 wings, was told they would be ready in 5 minutes. It took about 8 minutes, which is faster than any of the other wing establishments in the Triangle. Dining is outside on picnic tables in the parking lot. Instead, I took them home. I have had Heavenly Buffaloes on a few occasions now and the service has never been great, but this time was enough to keep me from coming back. I called ahead to get some food for some friends and I to watch a basketball game, then it was never brought out to me and I had to wait so long that I missed the start. They claimed they called my name but I was sitting literally right in front of the door doing nothing but watching it the whole time (not even on my phone, it's a dead spot there). So I ended up with food that was no longer enjoyable for having sat for so long and an offer for 20% off the next time I came around, which seems more like a coupon than an attempt to make things right. I understand that it was a busy day and it's easy for things to get misplaced, but you've gotta know that when something has been sitting for 35 minutes there's a problem and try to come up with a better system for dealing with it. Maybe call out the order a second time? Otherwise, at least be willing to show your customers that it matters to you - I was picking up a big group order and it makes me look bad to everyone when I show up late with cold food. So yeah. Customer service at Heavenly Buffaloes is horrible during nights when business is booming. We waited over an hour and a half for an extremely small order even though we were told the order would be ready in 45 minutes. After calling to ask about the status of our order, the lady on the other line was extremely rude and started talking to the delivery guy, stating that they would not deal with our complaints. Heavenly Buffaloes is a massive asset to the late-night grub scene in Durham. I've been here 4 times now and it's always been spot on. Wings are comparable to Buffalo Wild Wings with plenty of sauce options to choose from. The ranch here is a game changer. Usually, ranch is my side-chick sauce, but Heavenly Buffalo's ranch is my main b****. This is the only place that I'll exclusively dip in ranch only. The one downside to this place is that their fries are trash. I've gotten them twice now and they're always soggy. Gotta get some crispy fries my dudes. Still, this place is fire, especially when you need food at 1 am. 4.5 stars and I'm rounding up. read more

We are in town for a couple of days from Atlanta, and my sister suggested this place for wings. Initially we were skeptical. We are constantly disappointed by these little tiny, baby wings. NOT THIS PLACE!!!!! I haven't seen wings this big, maybe ever. And affordable prices. No wonder this place stays busy. Same for the boneless ones. I grew up in Asheville where I swore by the wings at East village grill (tiger wings amiright?!). We tried Heavenly on our first day living downtown Durham and were not disappointed. First, let me say I'm pretty disappointed that it has come to this. I normally never review anything and can't even remember the last time I wrote a review for any business. When I first moved to Durham my boyfriend brought me here for the vegan wings (as I'm vegetarian). I have been coming consistently to the shack till today. The food, though good most of the time, can be really inconsistent. One evening this week the wings were good, today not so great from either location. Which brings me to my second point. I went to the new location inside Bull Pen, next to the Bull baseball stadium. I tried to order a to-stay order for myself and a to-go order for my boyfriend who's home sick. The girl taking my order said they couldn't ring the orders together and went as far as getting a manager to tell me so. Ok, so I order my food, sit, eat, and when I was done I went up to order my to-go order. I had to wait for someone to take care of me because it seemed the entire staff was "taste testing" wings while a line was forming behind me. A breaded man with very sticky fingers (yes he was eating and go up without bothering to clean his hands) took my order, ran my card, and proceeded to give me all kinds of excuses for not being able to take my entire order beforehand. Citing one excuse as "maybe if we had a proper kitchen" as one of them. Coming from a customer service background what does that mean to a customer? The sticky fingers man couldn't get the system to work, he called over another man who also had no idea what was going on with their register. The bearded man kept pass me receipts that said "system error". He decorate the receipts (and my CC) with the sticky sauce on his fingers (which is gross, how do you pass a customer a piece of paper with food smeared on it). I then told him forget it seeing as no one seems at all concerned with the register. So, I proceed to go to the other location across town. When I got my boyfriends food at the next location they didn't include celery, ranch, and blue cheese which I asked for while they were taking my order. Finally got around to checking this establishment out. DOH!!, what took me so long?!?! Phoned in the order and was told 20 minutes. We arrived a little early & voila, the wings were ready. The individual who processed the order & took payment was extremely courteous & very efficient. Ordered two flavors to try - Hot - WHEW!, plenty hot for moi. They possessed the after-burn on my lips after consuming, and actually, my mouth did not simmer down for 10-15 minutes. Spicy BBQ - were exactly that & very tasty. This was my body experience and I will not go back anytime soon,  everything was over fried and dry!! The food tasted like that order was sitting for a call in and it was dropped back in the grease to make it hot.  The food was hot,  but hard, very over cooked.  I was told it would take 15 minutes, but it carne out in about 5 minutes.. you could look at the wings and you can tell they were not fresh!!
