My partner and I were craving wings on a Saturday. Unfortunately, we still aren't used to how crazy downtown Chapel Hill is during football season (can't wait for basketball season... lol). Anyways, after fighting through a crowd of what felt like 300 people scrambling and ignoring all traffic lights, we finally made it to Heavenly Buffalos. And in that moment, it really did feel heavenly due to the hunger and exhaustion we had battling those unruly pedestrians. To my surprise, it was rather empty inside the restaurant! Perhaps too far from campus? Cashier was super nice and handed over the food pretty quick! We got 6 thighs of lemon pepper seasoning and 6 thighs of hot sauce. I can't speak for the hot sauce, but the lemon pepper seasoning was on point! Tangy, malty (if that's even a word), and salty! My only quip is the juiciness of the chicken. Aren't chicken thighs supposed to be juicy? Mine felt rather dry. The crispiness of the exterior and skin was nice, but I was hoping for a burst of juice with my bite. It was rather dry, but the ranch did help! I'm curious if their wings or drums would be any different. I'd be interested to try other flavors offered here. Preferably off sports season lol. It's nice to have a chicken place close by!

Really good vegan wings and waffle fries! I've ordered takeout from here several times and they always deliver (literally and figuratively). Prices are a bit high but I think that's the going rate for wings these days. I've only stepped inside for pickup. but there were a lot of tables and it was clean inside! I usually get buffalo wings with salt & pepper fries but the ginger & garlic are my new obsession--they come nice and caramelized! And you can order two flavors if you order 14 wings or more!

Tried this place for the first time today. I'm currently with my family at the UNC hospital and figured I would order it and bring it back to the hotel. The prices were a little high, but honestly, everything is expensive these days. I feel like I should be able to get two flavors when I order the 13 wing combo. That's a lot of wings for just one flavor. The wings were decent. The service was good. Didn't dine in so I can't really say too much about the vibe of the place. Whether I would return or not is up in the air.

I quite enjoyed my brief experience at Heavenly Buffaloes. I saw they had vegan wings so I stopped in. Ordering was quick and easy. I love ordered vegan wings to go, and a beer while I waited. They have many sauce options which is great. I got the hottest sauce they had and a BBQ. Both were great. The interior is clean. The employees are nice. The vegan wings are tasty. I'll return if I stay nearby again.

I love sweet potato fries! And wings! They execute both really well and I love that you can add dry rubs to their fries. When I go, everything comes out crispy and fresh (even with the sauces) and the food is super filling. I love their signature dry rub or cinnamon sugar with sweet potato fries and their spicy bbq boneless wings, but you can't really go wrong with any flavor.

Could it be?? For real? We've found a good wing place?!? I am giddy with excitement! We also ordered these through Door Dash and they were still warm and so good! The sauce was thick, and tasty with just the right amount of spice. My husband's wings were spicy and meaty and delicious. We've been hoping for a good wing place and I believe we have found it!! Yay!

This is the great place for a quick bite and drinks. As a vegetarian their soy wings are great! They also have a great variety of rubs for the wings AND fries! This definitely a staple for chapel hill and the fries always hit the perfect craving for waffle fries!

5 stars for the kindness of the owner and Idaho waffle fries with Heavenly Buffaloes dry rub! Wings were good - my husband is from Buffalo, NY so we're always looking for great wings. These did the job (but if you're from Buffalo they're not Buffalo Buffalo wings if you know what I mean). Love the outdoor patio space and how brightly painted the building and umbrellas are. They have an outdoor window to order from if you don't want to go inside. Great daily specials on beer too. What's on special varies per day of the week.

I love Heavenly Buffaloes! We live in Wake Forest but every time we are around Durham or Chapel Hill we stop there to eat some wings. The Heavenly Buffaloes dry seasoning is so good that it's worth the 35min - 45min drive just to eat there. We usually get some boneless wings with dry Heavenly Buffaloes seasoning and the Idaho fries with dry Heavenly Buffaloes seasoning. We like the Chapel Hill location because it has indoor sitting and it's nice but it's farther so we don't go there as often since the Durham locations are closer to us.

My husband and I went on a late Saturday afternoon and we were seated immediately. We shared the Fido's Fries as an appetizer and I got the Chili Cheese Dogs as my entree. Almost everything could be made veggie or vegan so I asked for the dogs to be veggie. My meal also came with a side so I got the frickles (fried pickles). The Fido's Fries were beer battered fries, topped with cheese, bacon (we got the pork option but they have soy), scallions, & sour cream (on the side). The fries were absolutely delicious! I loved my chili cheese dogs as well. It was a very generous portion because it was two dogs and a ton of frickles. As a dog lover, I adored all of the dog art & statues around the place. The menu is even dog themed. I mean they call appetizers kibbles & bits. That could not be any cuter! There is indoor seating (with a bar) and outdoor seating. As you can probably already tell, the restaurant is dog friendly (with their outdoor area). They even have a dog friendly menu (called puppy meals). Service was superb! There is no dedicated parking lot but we easily found free parking a few blocks away. My mom is a vegan and we sometimes struggles to find creative meals when she visits. I will definitely be taking her here next!

The space has a slightly dim, intimate feel with dark red walls and thoughtful details--even the plates feel intentional. The food is the real star. We had the tasting menu, and everything was absolutely delectable, aside from the duck (purely personal preference). I sincerely appreciate the choice of vegetarian, vegan, or omnivore options for the tasting menu -- that's quite special. You somewhat go in blind as to what you'll be served, which I really appreciate. For the omnivore tasting menu, there was a lot of seafood used, which I loved. The ingredients were married together well in each item. The price felt well worth it for the experience. They also offer a wine pairing for those interested. I'll definitely be coming back. And despite being in Chapel Hill, it has ample parking that makes it easy to access.

The space is modern and elegant but still cozy, with soft lighting, subtle earth tones, and an open layout that balances intimacy and energy. Service was outstanding from start to finish, attentive, informed, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. Let's get into the food, because this was one of the most exciting and consistently excellent meals we've had in a long time. We started with They Might Be Tostones, a clever and beautifully layered dish with Murasaki sweet potato, lime-pimentón crema, and chili crisp. It was punchy, bright, and balanced. The Warm Rustic Baguette with whipped butter and sea salt may seem simple, but it was divine, crusty on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfect for lingering. Dirt Candy, a medley of seasonal vegetables with toasted pistachio ail lade, was vibrant and thoughtfully composed. The Big Eye Tuna Carpaccio with red miso-citrus bagna cauda and delicate shoots was fresh and refined, with a perfect acidity and richness. We moved on to heartier plates like the Ricotta Gnocchi with Italian sausage, peppers, whipped ricotta, broccoli rabe, and chili flake. The gnocchi were pillowy and deeply flavorful. The Kabocha Squash & Farro with lump crab, pancetta, and miso butter was savory, slightly sweet, and full of texture. The Pan Roast with flounder, mussels, fregula, and smoky shellfish sugo was bold and briny, with layers of flavor in every bite. Two pasta dishes also stood out, the Ravioli di Manzo with Barolo-braised beef and Parmigiano was rich and comforting, while the Plin Piemontese, filled with pasture-raised pork and finished in crema di parmigiano, was elegant and silky. For dessert, we shared all three options and each one brought something different. The Citrus plate with steamed lemon pudding and lemon curd was light, tart, and texturally playful. The Cheesecake with maple mascarpone and cranberry compote was creamy, nutty, and not overly sweet. But the star was the Chocolate Fondant, extra dark, gooey, with salted caramel gelato and hazelnut crumble. An absolutely unforgettable finish. OakLeaf is a standout. Every dish felt thoughtful, seasonal, and beautifully executed. We will absolutely be back.
