First time here, I drove past it. Ended up parking around the corner and walking back. Great space. Massive counter. Fantastic selection of donuts. One person serving, but it went pretty quick as there was only one person ahead of me. It was the afternoon. These donuts rank high on my list of best donuts. It's almost sacrilegious but I'll say it. Maybe even better than Marie's in Sacramento. Not only was the raised dough soft and delicious, but the icing was on the cake frosting side of consistency. You know how some donut frosting is like a thin veneer of crumbly sweetness? This was thick and substantive. Not cake frosting, not a watered down version of icing, something closer to that cake frosting. A generous coating of perfection. I was sad they did not have any krullers. But the chocolate bars were sublime. Will make this a regular stop when I'm in Redding.

    Open bakery. Nothing to hide.

Had a quick overnight stay here in Redding for a meeting in the morning. Ask my hotel any place to get a good quick breakfast. The immediately with no hesitation pointed me to heavenly donuts. When I explain, I'm not really a donut guy they said they had the best breakfast sandwiches in town. That's what I needed! It was a half block walk. When I walked in, I knew I had the right place. The bakery was open to the counter so you could see all the work being completed. They were even flying the American flag in their kitchen. As I waited, it turned out to be only three or four minutes for my food, I watched a steady stream of locals come in and grab boxes of donuts to take out to their families and their workplace. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend Heavenly Donuts if you're driving through, staying for the night, or live here in Redding. Local!

Very solid and affordable breakfast spot in Redding! We tried a bunch of their donuts and were satisfied with them all, including glazed, crueller, and chocolate frosting. Make sure to ask which donuts are pretty fresh too--we got a maple bacon bar that was still warm from the fryer!

Heavenly Donuts is located right in downtown Redding, and like all great donut shops is open 24 hrs a day seven days a week. The prices are reasonable, not like those high end trendy places that want 5 bucks for a donut! I wanted an apple fritter and my fave chocolate old fashioned, and they had both. There's even a drive thru, but I like to go inside and see what I'm gonna pick out of the case. Yeah, gimme that one! I'n not too often near this location too often, but if I am, no reason not to stop in a get even a dozen .... everyone at the office will love you!

Biscuits, toast, pancakes are all wonderful with their homemade jams. Take my family here whenever they are in town and everyone looks forward to it.

The servers were super friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and there was a steady stream of regulars while I was here. I was initially excited for my meal but the food wasn't to my taste. The menu states that classic plates and omelettes come with garlic herb potatoes and choice of toast, biscuit, or pancake. My corned beef hash plate ($16.50) was pretty lackluster and underseasoned. The corned beef was mushy and more fine textured than what I'm accustomed to. However, the potatoes in my hash were decently browned and my eggs were cooked over easy as requested. The pancake was fluffy and came with pats of salted butter, but the pancake itself tasted like it was made from a mix. A server kindly brought over some homemade mixed berry, strawberry, and mango jams that made the pancake more interesting to eat. The warmed bottle of syrup on the table was a thoughtful touch. I didn't get a side of garlic herb potatoes with my plate, so I asked a server about it and they said my corned beef hash was already made with potatoes so it wasn't included. Maybe the menu wasn't updated or there was a misunderstanding, but I do see that another user posted their corned beef hash plate which did come with the garlic herb potatoes. My dining companion ordered the "pearl waffle" plate ($13.50) which had 2 Liège style waffles, whipped cream, and fruit. I ate some of the waffle and enjoyed crunching on the pearl sugar. It was nice with a smear of jam. The waffles are pretty small so if you have a hearty appetite, you might want to order an additional side. They ordered some scrambled eggs ($4.50) to round out their meal and said the eggs were fine. I don't think I'll be coming back but I definitely see why it's a local favorite. It's just not the best breakfast place for me and that's okay! Some non-food details: friendly and efficient service, indoor and outdoor seating, and decent amount of onsite parking + street parking available if needed.
