These guys were incredibly friendly, cheerful and efficient and went way beyond the call of duty--they were unloading a container box at a flat rate, yet they did extra things that were definitely not within the job description, like moving things into two different buildings and then re-moving some items when we discovered we made a mistake. Bill and Jamie. Be sure to ask for them by name. I have to deduct a star for Clark's front office operation, however. They were the destination warehouse for my Door-to-Door move and several calls to them were not returned. The expeditor told me this is unusual, so hopefully a temporary problem.

Initially, I really liked the sales team that came and did the estimate. However, they sent a few very unprofessional members to move our apartment and they did not respect our stuff at all. Throwing boxes around, fooling around with our stuff, not taking care for valuable items. We ended up with many damaged items. Also, in agreement with the commenter below, it's very much a bait and switch. As with many movers, they charm you with the initial prices and personality, but they don't represent how the process will go well at all. I was told many times how much space my stuff would take up and then they spread all my stuff out to take up more space and charge me more. My entire apartment fit in 1/2 a small truck (there was another load in there already) and when it arrived at my destination they spread it out into a whole truck worth of space and the last crate has a couple boxes on the floor. No support from their parent company Mayflower either. It sounds like maybe a small move worked for people, but don't trust them with big moves. Their equipment was also old and they don't offer any "extras" included in the deal like boxes, packing supplies, etc. There are so many movers in the area that friends had better luck with, go somewhere else.

Lamana's knows what they are doing. We packed our personal items, so the crew only had to move the furniture & boxes. They just needed us to direct them as to placement in our new house. In all, the entire process took about 5 hours. We should note my husband is immune compromised and all staff took precautions when it came to pandemic precautions. We are grateful for their professionalism and concern, in this regard. There was a GREAT article about Lamana's in the Albany Times Union on 9/2/20, this is a multigenerational family run business and they deserve the high praise and recognition. I've already passed them on to another friend who will be moving in the near future and to our realtor. I do recommend calling & booking as soon as you have a closing date. Upon visiting their website, you'll find an esitmate request, which looks to be used for astetics only as the 'gentlemen' (I use this term liberally as his demeanor was anything but) who called me back had no idea what I wanted done. Upon originally conversing with them I was under the impression that my requests were capable of being fufilled. Today as I get closer to moving today I give a follow up call just to make sure everything is in order. (I'm meticulous like that due to past instances of what I'm about to describe) I am now told that because my moving date lands on a Sunday, my move isn't big enough to justify the work. Mind you, I'm moving across town (from Troy to Albany) Apparently their no hourly minimum claim on the website is only when they feel like working. Roll the dice I guess. They may provide excellent work when they take the time to do so but I can only rate them based on my experience which in this case was quite lackluster.
