Was in Portsmouth to buy a new car and stopped here for a beer and a bite for a quick dinner and it hit all the marks. Very friendly, kind and quick service, chill and casual space to hang, and solid brews and food. I had the burnt end dog which was tasty -- snappy and lots of flavor, but it was a bit smaller than expected so I also got some savory pretzel bites that came out nice and hot with mustard and pub cheese. Would return when in the area again.

We were really looking for some darker beer but it seems it's just not the season for that so I had the Oktoberfest. Twice, because it went down so easy It was the perfect day for a cold beer out on the patio. Loved the hops plant out there and the serve yourself cold water. Service was a little of inside outside. Great menu! Everything looked good. We ordered the hummus/pita and the pork schnitzel sandwich. So good. Got a little train action going by too out beyond the fence The only comment is that there is not a lot of parking. All in all a great experience and if I lived in this area I would be a regular here

Their beers were absolutely delicious, each one crafted to perfection. Their hot dogs --perfectly grilled and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was super chill, making it the perfect spot to unwind and sip on beers . Service was really good too. If you're looking for a laid-back place to enjoy great brews and tasty bites, this brewery is a must-visit! What did we get? - Love Duck, American Pale Ale 5.5% ABV - Banner of the Realms, Danish Red Lager 5% ABV - Hai Ikki, Rice Saison 5.7% ABV As for the hotdogs: - Chicago Dog - Tokyo Dog - Burnt End Dog

We stopped here after a long day of driving. We happened to show up during trivia night, so it was a bit louder than we hoped, but the folks playing trivia were abundant and having a great time. The beers we tried were very well brewed, and the food was really good. We enjoyed the fungidelphia and banh mi special. Definitely worth a visit!

A group of us stopped in Liars Bench for lunch after hiking Mt Major, so we were starving! The interior is your usual warehouse-y brewery, but the outside ambiance is great. Beautiful plants and flowers surround the courtyard. I am always so impressed when I find a brewery that also has an awesome kitchen. I ordered the potato salad and falafel and WOW! The potato salad was vinegary and delicious, and the falafel is one of the best I've had. Everyone in our group raved about their meal, including the Rachel, the hoagie italiano, and the chopped cheese. If you're in Portsmouth looking for good beer and great food in a casual atmosphere, this place is it!

Perfect place to day drink and eat good bar food. It's relaxed, casual and clean. Not a huge bar but big enough for small groups or just a seat at the bar. Beer was fantastic. My Tokyo hotdog was sublime. Big fan.

Really nice brewery with some unique beers. We enjoyed the beers and the vibe. Food was also pretty good, but we didn't have much. The location is decent, with a good outside area to hang out. Inside, the bar and kitchen share space with the tap room which can get crowded. Would definitely return.

Really nice layout with the seating outside. Hidden at the back of a parking lot you'd swear you were just venturing into someone's backyard. Good selection of beers to meet the tastes of the crowd. What sets this place apart from other craft pubs in the area is the food. The menu is fairly large and it's fantastic food! We tried the Chicago dog, Italian sausage and the Cuban sandwich.

This quaint gastropub doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, this seems like a place where locals are regulars and tourists are happy to get a table at this "no reservations" joint. It's dark inside (no photos) and a little cramped. The bartenders are serving double duty mixing and pouring drinks while also playing DJ and spinning vinyl records. And it felt like everyone inside was exactly where they wanted to be at the moment...enjoying each other's company and sharing drinks and food. The menu is about the size you would expect from a small kitchen - a fair number of appetizer dishes meant for sharing, and a handful of entrees, ranging from casual to a bit more refined. The grilled cheese and tomato soup ($19) was made with a hearty artisan bread that hit the spot on a chilly evening. Similarly, the coq au vin ($26) was classic comfort food, with perfectly cooked smashed fingerling potatoes surrounded by a rich, decadent reduction sauce smothering meaty mushrooms and soft pearl onions. Note, the coq au vin did take a long time to prepare, so not the dish to order if you're in a hurry. A couple of not-too-sweet lemon ricotta donuts (with chocolate sauce) was a great way to end the meal.

Well, I'm happy that they were because dinner here was SOOOO good! The bartender helped us choose a bottle of champagne to start. We shared everything. One of each of the deviled eggs each. The maple cranberry was interesting. The sour cream chive one was to die for! The ricotta gnocchi was elegant and fluffy. The sauce made it over the top. The ribs were good, but I'm a Midwest girl. They just don't compare to back home. The clam linguine was seasoned perfectly. It was quite filling. We ended with the Apple Olive Oil cake with maple ice cream. The cake itself was quite dense and dry. The ice cream helped. I would not order this dessert again. Service was quite SLOWWWW, and for no reason as they weren't very busy while we were there. There were long gaps between courses and then once we were finished we kind of just sat there for a while. The food was worth it but something is not running efficiently and could be improved. Still giving 5 starts because it was so good and everyone was welcoming.

Overall we had an enjoyable meal. They have a really nice outdoor patio which we hoped to enjoy, but it seems to be raining every weekend this summer, and so we had to sit inside. It was a Friday night, and the dining room was not very busy. Hostess and our server were incredibly friendly and made sure we were comfortable (there were some very cold AC vents near our table). We started with a fried cauliflower appetizer, which was good. Certainly not the best I've enjoyed, but tasty. Portion size was enough for a party of 4 or more! The cauliflower was a tempura batter style with a general gao's like sweet/sour sauce. It was served piping hot! Lobster roll was massive, cold mayo style and served with fried shallots, rather than onion rings. A nice twist and something I've never had before. Unfortunately, the fries served with this dish were limp. I'm pretty fussy about my fries and I just don't understand why some restaurants don't fry them to order. If you don't, you end up with luke warm, soggy fries that honestly are not worth eating. For me, that ruins the entire dish and I have to wonder what the kitchen is thinking sending out coldish limp fries. Another entree we tried were the Gnocchi with wild mushrooms. This was a nice dish and the gnocchi were light and fluffy, with plenty of mushrooms. A nice plate overall. We finished dinner with an orange granita dessert which came with plenty of carmelized orange peels on top, one of my favorites! In fact, I enjoyed the candied orange more than the Granita itself! Exeter is really having a moment with a number of great dining options. With just a tad more attention to the dishes, I think in time Epoch could be among those option restaurants. Give them a try
