Obviously, Lisa and her team did a fantastic job with the landscaping. She presented me with three different design options, worked with me to stay within my budget, and then executed the project exactly as she explained she would. She even moved my project up on the schedule after I mentioned I was planning to sell my house soon, which I really appreciated. What really stood out, though, wasn't just the quality of the work, it was the communication. It was clear, transparent, and consistent before, during, and even after the project. That level of professionalism is surprisingly rare in the home improvement industry. I own a house that was built in 1887, and over the past eight years I've hired countless companies for projects including a new deck, porch, fencing, painting, paver installation, and just about everything else you can think of. One of the most frustrating parts of working with companies in this industry is the lack of organization and communication. They're usually quick to collect the deposit, but after that you're left constantly following up for project start dates, updates, and progress. Working with Lisa was the complete opposite. She was organized, proactive, and always kept me informed. It was honestly refreshing. If you want to roll the dice and deal with the same frustrations I experienced with two other landscaping companies before finding Lisa, go for it. She then took those and made three very detailed designs in video format. From there we went back and forth a few times as I wanted a combination of designs. There are a number of aspects to consider-- full sun, or in shade; native to midwest or not; aggressive vines (that might hurt other plants) versus vines that might be compatible with the flowers I wanted. We're not a huge account, a 16 home townhouse HOA, but they treat us no differently. For us some of the key call outs are: * They are not out to sell you more than you need. A good case is point is our bushes in front were looking ragged so I asked for a quote to replace them. Marked recommended that they just do a detailed hard pruning, which we did at a fraction of the cost. Two or three years later they look fantastic. * They can get grass to grow where others couldn't. We have large maple trees and lots of shade. There was one section that always looked bad. The last landscaper even resodded it but the sod was gone in probably 2 years. Nature Perspective continually reseeds areas that need it. That section of grass has never looked better in the 10 years we've been here. * With Fall season lasting longer than normal, our previous company would disband their crews long before all the leaves have fallen. Nature Perspective keeps their crews on into late Fall doing the last clean ups after nearly all leaves have fallen. * They are environmentally conscious where possible and making efforts to be so even more so. A good example is during the 4 or 5 years we've used them they always shredded up the Fall leaves and spread them around as mulch, versus hauling them off to landfills. If you're looking for a new landscape service, there's no one I could recommend more highly than Mark and his crew at Nature's Perspective.
