I was in the process of gathering three bids, as I am relatively new to the area and wanted to make sure I was getting a fair price. The estimator showed up on time and did the measurements he needed to and then asked if he could come inside to talk with us about the estimate. Then the hard sell began. He said that if we signed up with AV Painting on the spot, even though I had not gotten a second or third estimate, he would be able to get me a lower price if we were willing to vouch for the company and allow them to put a sign in our yard. I told him I was not comfortable signing up with the first company I heard from. He then said that they would be willing to match another price or maybe it was that they would let me out of an agreement with them if I could prove that another company was providing the same service for less. I understand how these things work, however, and I told him no. I was going to get my other estimates because, well, I'm a responsible adult. This man continued to try to sell me on the company. I had to say no three or four times and basically had to ask him to leave. It must be said that I ended up getting three other estimates and not one of them came in and sat down at my dining table and harangued me about their estimate. Needless to say, I was pretty turned off. But this was just the beginning. Over the course of the next weeks and now months, I have made clear more than four times that I will not be hiring them. I got a call two weeks ago and nearly yelled at the man to please leave me alone. I told him that they had lost my business and that I was not interested. This has not stopped them from contacting me. In fact, I just received an email today. Literally months after I have told them via email and via phone that I was not interested in hiring them, I am still receiving contacts from this company. At this point, I'm actually curious how they get any business at all. They have somehow found a way to match aggressive, hard sell tactics with a complete inability to respond to clear communication. If I could give zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the time and hassle of dealing with this unprofessional company.

Reno-O-Paint did a good job painting the interior of our house in December 2019. We gave them the…read morejob with the condition that they would also paint our house's exterior with a projected start date of September 2020. I started reaching out to them and finally got a projected start date of late Sept. 2020 at the end of July, 2020. As we got into the middle and late August, I tried to reach out to them again to get a firmer start date. After numerous attempts by me they finally responded in the second week of September that they would not be able to follow through with the late September start date. I was told they could do the job next Spring! They stated that due to CoVid they had laid off half their work force! I understand that CoVid has created huge effects in our personal lives and economy. However, I noticed that other companies are responding and continuing to take on work. Ren-O-Paint's decision and late communication with me forced me to immediately search and find a company willing to take on my house painting. Fortunately, I was able to succeed finding someone and will get my house painted when I wanted it done and not to Ren-O-Paint's schedule. I regret having to give this negative review of Ren-O-Paint not keeping their commitments, but so it is! Despite the crisis, other companies are able to make commitments and keep them!

The overall quality of workmanship was very low. See the example pictures (there are many more)…read more See detail below. If you decide to go with Robinson, the crew supervision must be excellent, by Robinson and by you. Nate Robinson is taking over the business from his dad. The bid process went well. We were reassured by the clarity of the contract. And then the project fell apart. We had other people repair the extensive damage. Nate cared. The quality control of the subcontractor paint crew was clearly below standard, as if the crew never saw or understood the contract. And there was little supervision of the work to the advertised high quality Robinson brand. Nate: "I'm very disappointed to see that everything not was completed properly and that the crew we sent out did not do a good job. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention, and I want to make things right." That intent raised the rating to two stars. Nonetheless, fixing all the damage after the fact was a burden. Work just wasn't done well. We negotiated to close the project. Below compares contract and actual. You can see why we had confidence, very professional language. - The contract stated "Any flaking paint will be scraped, sanded and primed. For heavy flaking a power shaver will remove all layers of existing paint to the original surface, Additional sanding will be necessary and is included." ***This was not done. We made repeated requests to have obvious flaking areas scraped and most eventually were. There was no sanding, let alone power shaving. No bare wood was primed. Some painted wood has already peeled back, six weeks later. These defects are visible on the final product. - The contract stated "Plants near the home will be pulled back where necessary to gain access." ***We had difficulty getting the paint crew to pull back plants on the garage wall. This was on a Saturday and there was no supervision of the paint crew. - The contract stated "Spraying is a fast and efficient way to get the paint from the bucket onto the house. Wood siding also requires a roller or brush to force the paint into the cracks and knot holes to insure that it fills those completely with paint. This will be done while the paint is wet." ***There was no rolling or brushing. - The contract stated "A second coat will be sprayed shortly after the first coat dries, usually in 1-2 hours depending on temperature. This will build to a uniform thickness for added protection and beauty." ***There was no second coat. The entire house was sprayed with one thick coat. This is technically incorrect and a deficient application process, especially when combined with the absence of back brushing or back rolling, with the increased possibility of premature paint failure due to misapplication. No warranty extension was granted. - The contract states "Doors if included, will be sprayed to a fine finish." ***Doors had runs and the front door had runs plus the door hardware was scratched badly. Hardware was blue taped, not removed, leaving messes. - ***Interior and exterior areas were damaged with paint drips, overflow, paint spreading, spatter on bath fixtures, and paint on carpeting due to inadequate protection. We spent many hours cleaning hardwood floors, retouching goofs, repairing walls where the painter's tape pulled off finished work. This was all left in damaged condition. Example pictures attached. - ***Overall project management communication was intermittent. We often had no idea what was happening each day. The absence of Robinson's supervisor contributed to this. He was on a planned vacation. Someone needed to fulfill his role especially when we agreed to have work done over the weekend. When he returned, he was instrumental and was wonderful to work with.

We were needing to have an older deck and open porch restained at our rental property after…read morereplacing some damaged boards. I was impressed by reading the 5 star reviews on Yelp and contacted Axel & Aaron Painting. We sent photos of the job to Kimberly (as requested) first, and received thier verbal quote from her. Since we hadn't met in-person and the quote was just verbal off of the photos, we wanted to meet them at our rental property to review the scope of work. My husband and I met at our rental property with the two owners, Pedro and Kimberly, and all went well. My husband spent considerable time with Pedro discussing the prep work needed. We felt comfortable proceeding, and even told them about our next job, in hopes that they could also do that (if all went well). But on Day 1 things did not go well. Two workers came to pressure wash, but Pedro was never onsite. The workers were done and left within 2 hours, before we could get back to the rental to see the work. It's a large deck and large porch with raijlings, and we found many areas had been missed, so we called them to let them know right away. My husband sent them photos as well showing the mildew and dirty areas that still needed more pressure washing (see some of the photos). We expected Pedro would of course want to come back out himself that afternoon, or the next day, Day 2, since the prep and painting wasn't going to start until Day 3, so there was still time. Kimberly, after receiving the photos, was dismissive and told us by phone "this is normal and those areas can just be sanded before painting". You cannot sand away, or paint over the mold/mildew they left behind. I think it would likely have taken 1 hour more of pressure washing and they would stay on track to start prep and paint/stain on Day 3 (the second day of work) but there was no response or assurance from Pedro it would be addressed. That evening they sent the bid with an extra $300 add-on for the "option" of two colors "IF" we were to decide to paint the railings white. This was the first and only written proposal, and it seemed fair, so we were still ready to proceed. We just needed confirmation from Kimberly, or a callback from Pedro that they would come back to finish the missed areas since. There was no still no reply. Instead, the next morning, we got an email as follows: "Unfortunately, we won't be able to complete your staining project as planned. As we mentioned before, pressure wash was completed. Sorry we couldn't meet your expectations.". This is very unprofessional and caused us (and our tentants) a huge inconvenience. We saw RED FLAGS, and we were beginning to question if we should go any further with them. I am certain the quality would have been shoddy.

I needed my 80 year old basement garage floor epoxied. I had a bunch of companies provide quotes…read more Some actually provided quotes without even coming out and inspecting my garage. I didn't trust these quotes at all since I knew my old garage floor was not in great shape. Obed showed great knowledge with epoxying floors. He pointed out a bunch of cracks and pits that would need to be opened up and filled. My garage also had something strange where someone had extended the footing with additional concrete. This caused extra concrete ledges around my entire footing. Obed said he could address all of it. I also needed trim installed and he said he could do that as well. Even with the trim install, his quote came out competitive with the other quotes. Obed did an amazing job with the garage floor epoxy and the trim work. I was very impressed with the end result. I know he went above and beyond to take additional time to fix issues so that the end result would be good. For example, we agreed to have one small part of the extra concrete ground down so the floor would be flat. As they were prepping the other extra concrete for epoxy, the concrete actually started cracking and falling off. Without charging me extra, they also removed this extra concrete so the end result was an entirely flat floor without any additional concrete ledges. After grinding the floor, Obed realized that it would best to level the floor. Again, without an additional charge, he leveled the floor. He also filled in a bunch of concrete holes and voids on the concrete step by the door leading into the house. When installing the trim, they took the time to specially contour the bottom of the trim to match the many dips in my old garage floor. While leveling did help with the dips, my garage floor just had some extreme dips. In the end, I was beyond happy with the end result. I originally hired him to epoxy my floor, but he ended up fixing so many different things and made the entire garage better because of it.
